- 53 AMG Sounding Loud!! Here’s the first AMG of the new GLE family!! Our first look at the Coupé GLE too on the channel, we get to experience the #GLE53 on the Transfagarasan Highway in Romania! Made famous by the Top gear Romanian Roadtrip Special, it’s a road like no other!!
This is the new GLE 53 4matic+, as we’ve tested in the CLS and E it’s a part hybrid in-line 6 turbo. But this time we have it linked to a proper AMG performance exhaust for the 53 cars!
The car looks like a proper AMG too, with the #AMG panamericana grille previously only reserved full fat AMGs like the new G63, now the GLE Coupé looks like a dead ringer for a future 63 version!
The car is the usual 53 output of in line 6 petrol engine with 435BHP 520nm giving a 0-60 of 5.3 seconds. We also have a fully variable power in the AMG 4matic+ all wheel drive system and between that and the 9-speed gear box is your hybrid power: the EQ Boost starter generator adding + 22hp and 250nm.
We will also explore the new AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL air suspension, based on AMG Ride control+, as well as the key areas where the 53 differs from the standard car.

The car looks beautiful up to the B-Pillar. I can`t get used to those SUV Coupès. - I would get that car but as a "normal" boxy Version. - Brilliant Video in a beautiful location. Not a single weak Clip yet on this channel. Really impressive.

CommandoInvert too bad I traded my C63s for the GLC43 AMG SUV. Quicker off the line than the C63s. It sounds like formula 1 engine which uses V6 biturbo as well. 63 is not practical and sounds too deep!
@@topo520 glc43 is a great car. the gle 53 is looking fantastic too but since i used to have the 'old' GLE 63 S Coupe im used to the v8 sound :/
edit: in addition the 0-60mph or 100kph are not as important to me. the way the car feels, drives and sounds is was more important imo. thats the reason im currently building a CLC 55 AMG :D
The sound of the 63 is deep and good but the v6 revs really good. I understand you have always driven the V8 but try the V6 and you will see how good it is. Mine is tuned by Eurocharged. I make 486hp and 523 torque with 0 to 60 time of 3.3 seconds and quarter in 11.4 seconds. It’s fun and good for daily use.

CommandoInvert you should. The 63s is more of a weekend or special occasion of use but the 43 you can play with it everyday.

I cant wait to upgrade from my 2019 glc coupe to the 2021 gle coupe . My only decision is to get the 53 or is the 63 going to be worth the extra cash over the 53

This did not feel like an honest review, probably because of the company. it would have been nice if you compared it more with its rivals which I think seem like a better option than this one.
The only thing I don't like about it is the grill. I prefer the old grill
If i understed right.This 53 AMG has not the active body control like in the standart one,but it has some sort of tuned by AMG,but it is not the same.My questions is are this AMG active ride control is confotable like the active body control in standart GLE? Please reply.I realy wont to know.Thanks in advance
It is not as comfortable as the standard GLE setup, but comfortable enough. Even de older more stiffer GLE63s was very comfortable.
amg should have slapped the c63s engine in the 53 models and called it a day. 510hp to rival M50i x5 and x6.
The C63 shares the same engine as the 613 hp tho

The B pillar looks very ugly. There’s too much height in the doors and the windows are too shallow, it looks way too fat and ungainly.
that front 3/4 view makes the car look so ugly. GLC coupé looks better especially with the incoming model. In fact, the GLE coupé has always been ugly honestly.

Still not ok with the AMG-for-all marketing. Once was a halo brand with a collection of special cars at unjustifiable prices by the regular consumer at the dealership. Now every mom in the whole foods lot has one. Hopefully the hype around the 73s is real and there will once again be a small handful of unique and expensive handbuilt AMG headturners.

This "AMG" is slower to 60 and slower in the quarter mile vs. a base 40i BMW X5 or X6. Not a good look since it's also more expensive than BMW.
I know it's your show. Let the engineers speak. Coming from inside an automotive company - you come off like you trying to get a job at Mercedes AMG. Shhhh... listen and let them tell you and the audience what's going on and why.

Looks nice but AMG messed up the power output, it should have had at least 500hp, the X6 M50i eats this 53 easly.
On the other hand the GLE 53 is much cheaper than the M50i and I think that the difference between the M50i (539hp) and the real M (600hp) is too small.
In my opinion it is better to have two performance models with a bigger difference in power and price like Mercedes has.

This road would eat the X6 M50i easily. AMG know the performance lovers will want the hugely powerful 63, this 53 exists for a different customer base. 500hp would stamp on the toes of the V8, and these guys show it's not necessary on this type of road anyway.
Yussnan84 forget about the factory power output! Tune it like I did to my GLC43 AMG SUV. I have the eurocharged tune and make 481hp and 523 torque. 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds and quarter in 11.4 seconds. I am glad I traded my C63s for the GLC43 AMG! I will eat the bmw x6M and x5M in their stock form.

The sound just does not match the look of the car, in my opinion. I'd love to hear this sound from a C class, but not a huge GLE
