Good ol' Woolworths! Bought many a 7" from Woolies when I was a kid, then a small record shop opened up in the town where I live and something clicked in me that I wanted to somehow be involved in music and the music industry. 🤓🎧👊🏼 #backstory
Hey, I've seen a couple of your oldskool mixes and I noticed that you often play a premade loop of a current track with the beginning of the next track. That's pretty ingenious! I myself tried to play oldskool breakbeat hardcore on my DJ controller but it was a torture. I've never played of vinyl (I'm young). Sometimes tracks don't start with a beat but with a piano or vocal sample. And that's a real pain in the butt to mix! Because if you start with the beats, you'll miss a pretty important part of the track. And the mix will suck) So I've seen Jay Cunning playing tunes on his weekly show many times and he really mixes like an oldskool DJ. No loops even when he's playing on controllers. I stopped watching his mixes, but I feel like I need to start wathcing again and learn more from him) I never undersood how hard it is to mix oldskool breakbeat hardcore until I tried to play it myself) P.S. Maybe you have a tip or advice to a beginner oldskool hardcore DJ?)
Check out my tutorials playlist, I have a video there showing how to create 'beat-intro' edits. Hope you find it useful. I'm hoping to make more tutorials on the same subject. 🤓🎧👊🏼

Made my eyes roll back in my head a few times… thank you, sir
came for the tunes, stayed for the dancing
It's a bit hard to really go for it when you're on your own in an empty room and there's no crowd to vibe off of! Thanks for listening. 🎧🤓👊

@@djhurleymkfm This is a remix of Dreamfinder that very rarely got played out, at least in my experience, it was always the "other" remix
Bombscare is always much appreciated. Underground raves and a certain club ( 1992/93) South of Market in S.F. . Good vibes never go out of style.
