I make a shellac solution by placing shellac sticks in alcohol as thick as I can get it. I paint my drop stick and stone with this solution before applying wax. Haven't lost a stone with this method.
Hi Patrick someone offer me a faceted like your. It only comes with 4 laps and also doesn't come with the small thing on the back of your faster. No transfor dapper. How much did you pay for yours if I may ask. I'm new at this and do want to get ripped off. Thank you for your help. And by the way your vedios are awesome. 😊💝
Hi Gabriela, is it a raytech shaw? There are lots of makers of platform faceters. I can't speak to the quality of other brands, but if you have the make then I recommend looking up what a new one would cost. Mine was a little over $1k, when a new one with all the extras would've been over $2k. There's also the question of how well the machine has been maintained. If you can, make sure it's in good working order as best you can. I took mine to a friend who has experience with faceters to check it out. 4 laps may be all you need if they're in good shape. I mainly use four laps- tin, 1200, 600, and sometimes 180.

any kind of shellac?
Maybe some copper or brass sticks will make it easier
Got a link to the transfer jig?
It came with my used machine, but is a raytech-shaw brand so you could probably find one on their website or a vendor.
