This game has really aged so well, you can play it again and again and you will always have fun. It's a well planned, developed game, and the animation of characters is magnificent. Every fighter has unique moves; punches, kicks, no generic moves (you know what I mean) ... This game has no age indeed.. 10 out of 10. CAPCOM is really expert making video games. Respect.

This game was the bomb back in the day. Kids used to line up at the arcade at the mall just to feed quarters into a slot and slam buttons watching characters pummeling each other. Captain America/Ryu combo for the emeffin' win, YO!
@@edwinrivera5377 thats if you select the blue costume for Ryu, the yellow gi appears and the purple gi appears. Ken had a yellow gi. Sean from SF3 has a yellow gi and is Ken's student but when Ryu has yellow or red gi on it is just Ken's moveset.

Same thing with Children of the Atom, except the announcer would shout "X!" for much more obvious reasons.

David another company was in charge of developing an Iron Man game or a game with his character and I guess Capcom either weren't given permission by Marvel to use him or chose not to use him themselves in fear of a lawsuit. Obviously, they were allowed to use him before in MSH and later in MVC2, so it just looks strange seeing as it occurred during the development of this game.

To Nothing in Particular; Shadow Lady is a special character, it's Chun Li after being part of the Shadowloo (someone please correct me if i'm wrong, it's been almost ages since I've followed that story). As far as Ryu, instead of having Akuma and Ken, MvC character development team decided to allow the player to (using a directional pad combo) change Ryu into a Ken inspired Ryu and an Akuma inspired Ryu. Fun stuff!
Red Hulk has always debuted in the comics LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG before this game it out. And this Hulk's real identity is Thunderbolt Ross, not the Bruce Banner we're seeing here.

True story: as a kid I got the PlayStation ports and was disappointed with no tag team and you have to mirror opponents to be able to tag team due to ps1 ram limitations. This piss me off as it’s not even close to the arcade ports. I was so determined that I ask every neighbor in my area if I can clean their yard, mow their lawn. These took months to save up for a Sega Saturn and and the 4mb cartridge. I was living in Jersey at the time and had to take the subway, then the train to New York just to go to a video shop that sells Japanese video games. I bought marvel super heroes vs street fighter and x men vs street fighter for Sega Saturn along with the 4mb catridge. Keep in mind these were months in between. My mom was a single mom and could barely afford to do anything for us besides give us a food and roof over our head. It took nearly over a year just to be able to experience arcade port of these games at the comfort of my living room. Too bad marvel vs capcom didn’t come out for the Saturn. I had to wait about 3 years to get a Dreamcast after and luckily I got it for my bday. I still have my Sega Saturn and those two games just a reminder with determination you can achieve anything 😅
Ryu and Captain were being hit only because they were the default character, that actually is an honor , they represents the Capcom and the Marvel side respectively. They two are the best guy among them.
I always love the fighting games where when a super move is performed, the background changes to something more psychedelic and intense, almost as if to say such moves are so powerful, they can bend reality. And now, the Smash Bros. series will have such a thing happen during the Final Smashes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Damn, I may be late but I'm still trying to find out what these backgrounds are even called again. It's used in many sprite animations too, and it's pretty impactful if I DO say so myself!

After so many years, seeing these HC's still fill me joy, In ways, they are better than the MvC3 ones just because they are quick and to the point. Not to mention the sound effects are better.
In the PS1 version, once you beat the game as MegaMan, you really do get Magnetic Shockwave as your new Hyper Combo. Morrigan is missing Eternal Slumber. One thing I found out when the game came out in the 90s is when you activate the Duo Team Attack with War Machine and Gold War Machine and have both do the War Destroyer, the sprites flicker badly and the game momentarily slows down. Must have been too much for the CPS2 to handle.
Iron man is not in the game because of license issues and we can’t forget Iron Man was also supposed to be in Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter along with Doctor Doom

Red Hulk has always debuted in the comics LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG before this game it out. And this Hulk's real identity is Thunderbolt Ross, not the Bruce Banner we're seeing here.
Hansen Sebastian I know Gen. Ross debuted back in Hulk #1 in 1962. But his Red Hulk-persona appeared first in 2008. Marvel vs Capcom came out during the 90s. So check your facts before you get rude.

True story: as a kid I got the PlayStation ports and was disappointed with no tag team and you have to mirror opponents to be able to tag team due to ps1 ram limitations. This piss me off as it’s not even close to the arcade ports. I was so determined that I ask every neighbor in my area if I can clean their yard, mow their lawn. These took months to save up for a Sega Saturn and and the 4mb cartridge. I was living in Jersey at the time and had to take the subway, then the train to New York just to go to a video shop that sells Japanese video games. I bought marvel super heroes vs street fighter and x men vs street fighter for Sega Saturn along with the 4mb catridge. Keep in mind these were months in between. My mom was a single mom and could barely afford to do anything for us besides give us a food and roof over our head. It took nearly over a year just to be able to experience arcade port of these games at the comfort of my living room. Too bad marvel vs capcom didn’t come out for the Saturn. I had to wait about 3 years to get a Dreamcast after and luckily I got it for my bday. I still have my Sega Saturn and those two games just a reminder with determination you can achieve anything 😅
Ryu and Captain were being hit only because they were the default character, that actually is an honor , they represents the Capcom and the Marvel side respectively. They two are the best guy among them.

I always love the fighting games where when a super move is performed, the background changes to something more psychedelic and intense, almost as if to say such moves are so powerful, they can bend reality. And now, the Smash Bros. series will have such a thing happen during the Final Smashes in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Damn, I may be late but I'm still trying to find out what these backgrounds are even called again. It's used in many sprite animations too, and it's pretty impactful if I DO say so myself!

I still remember when i was little im addicted to this at the arcade
In the PS1 version, once you beat the game as MegaMan, you really do get Magnetic Shockwave as your new Hyper Combo. Morrigan is missing Eternal Slumber.
One thing I found out when the game came out in the 90s is when you activate the Duo Team Attack with War Machine and Gold War Machine and have both do the War Destroyer, the sprites flicker badly and the game momentarily slows down. Must have been too much for the CPS2 to handle.
So, how did Captain America feel being a crash test dummy for all these moves?
I like how you timed every Hyper combo perfectly where the last hit is the one to Ko them. How did you know how much health to leave?
