I got my first tattoo at that shop. They put me with a new tattoo artist that gave me the worst tattoo. I complained and they decided to fix it. The guy they put me with kind of fixed it, but left my tattoo not completed and he ended up leaving that shop. The shop is called Borrowed Time. They have some good artist, but my first experiences there were terrible.
Yeah- big red flag for me: the artist objects to some of it as bad idea, then DOES IT anyway… No explanation Ever given. This is reaching a huge audience- what are they learning? To disregard the artists input? Is this cautioning against UV tattoo s? If so Why? If the purpose of this is just to laugh at a doofy customer ,it still shows a shop that doesn’t respect their customers. Or teach them anything. Why not give the thousands of viewers some “dos and donts” or even a tip for what to warn your friends about ( like Don’t get a UV tat, because _____(who knows? Not me!) this shop needs to shape up, I’m just a casual observer. And not a fan.

Ultimately it’s something that’s going on their body forever and if they wanna do a full on colour, UV light ink sleeve, instead of making fun of them, encourage people. A friend of mine is a tattoo artist and she does beautiful full colour works of anime cartoons. Mostly that’s what she likes to do but she’s super talented in other types of art as well. I’ve seen her use UV light ink to create a magic looking affect onto a sailor moon piece she did. It’s beautiful. Really made it pop and glow. As a customer you go in there respecting the artist and the art but it’s going on your body you are ALLOWED to dictate how you want it done.

It doesn't mean they have to agree with you or like it. Preferences are to be expected. When I went to go buy glasses I bought two pairs. I bought one the attendant recommended, and another that she disliked and insisted didn't agree with my face shape. As a professor she has a responsibility to state her opinion on the matter in the case the customers is inexperienced and goes know any better. I understand this, and I still bought them. I didn't think any less of her or get annoying because she was simply doing her due diligence in attempting to keep the customer informed.

Right. I did one on my friend and hers still glows since 2017. Not over anything the just the UV ink. The green one. A 🎀 outline on her wrist with a lil shading. .. that's what she wanted.
I used "millennium Mom's nuclear uv ink" in like 6 or 7 tattoos I did myself. That was 5 to 8 years ago and they still all look about the same as when I got them. The ink stays just as well as regular tattoo ink it seems.
I actually had an incident similar to this during a food handlers class. Just be careful where you shine black light. It might reveal more than You're Expecting.😂
So our science teacher shone a black light on us in middle school, she said certain "facial scrubs" show up under it, wonder if she was just lying back then. XD
@@killabeagle6530yeah all the normal ink work will stay, it'll just lose its glow over time. Also given that UV ink is thinner than regular coloured ink if you get them done at the same time or as a mix rather than one layered on top of the other it will cause the regular tattoo to lose or change coloration and fade faster. My friend has one and the best method I've seen used was to get a regular tattoo and then get the UV applied after its been given it's first touch up coat (where they re-go over the original tattoo due to fading) , helps keep the original colour staying vibrant and the UV to stay stronger for longer without interfering with the original colours

I've never considered a uv tat before but seeing how its not really a permanent thing might be cool for a small tat Idea I have where it won't be too expensive to have redone since it'll be small. The only problem is, do I carry around a black light flashlight, or do I start going to black light clubs just because I have a uv tat? lol.

I've had mine for almost 3 years and its still glows like I just got it. Idk why everyone's saying it's not worth it? I did use a saniderm cover on the tattoo though. Perhaps that helped.
