Thanks for showing me know to deal with this type of soft fish which usually break when i am frying. Your knowkedge is greatly helping me to cook the bajan way.
As a Bajan living overseas, I'm enjoying your videos very much. Such good memories come back to mind as I try the recipes. Thanks for sharing ☺️ Stay safe!
Hi Chantelle, Glad you like them! Sometimes base on what I'm doing it may put me back in a time and place and I am able to share my memories. Thank you so much for watching and giving the recipes a try.
@@urlenemoore6776 corn starch makes what you are frying crispy, so If you like that crispy texture then you'll add corn starch. I do not put flour in my conkies, I have a recipes which I will be sharing sometime in the future. I have a Sheppard's pie recipe up, scrolled through the videos and you will see it. Thanks for watching
Hi thanks so much now I know what I can do to stop my fish from getting soft n sticking to the pan good job 👍 that the way I like it so i'll be getting some corn starch next time
Hi Sheena sorry thought I had replied to this message. That is a weekend food you will always find someone making or selling on weekends. My favorite place to get some is oistins on Friday night. Are you a bajan living in the Philippines? Thanks for watching
@@Tinaraine I've been in oistin too, i stayed in bridgetown, i'm from philippines and im filipino, i had bajan boyfriend before thats why i visited barbados.. wish to visit again there. Thank you for the reply :)
@@alicepatterson2150 hopefully you get to visit there again real soon, Barbados is a beautiful Island but of course since you've been there before you are already aware of that. I would also love to visit the Philippines, maybe one day when everything gets back to normal. .
looks amazing , love how you season the fries after they came out !! thank you for sharing!!!! i would love to see your take on grill fish with grill potatoes and macaroni salad like they do in Oistin!
Hi Kayinw! unfortunately I do not have a grill at the moment but I will put grill fish and grill potatoes on my list of things to do. Macaroni salad will also be added to the list. I have a video on steam fish and baked fish which will be out this week, please stay tune for that. Thank you for watching.
Aunty tina never disappoints! I was craving fish and chips randomly decided to check on aunty tina's youtube to see if she has a video this woman is a gem God bless her soul ,❤❤❤
Good knowledge how to cut chips, mine was always mis-shaped, never knew about the corn starch as I normally use corn meal when frying fish but never used a batter (so thanks for that tip) I will definitely use the freezer tip for the chips - but u always make it look so easy- can u please show me how to shape the old fashioned salt bread, I tried shaping them only once, they resembled baby rats/mice
Lol Brenda they resemble baby rats/mice! That's funny! I have a salt bread recipe up there. just look through my videos and you will see it. Corn starch make things crispy, if you like that crunch then cornstarch it is. I'm glad you found the video helpful, hopefully you'll find the salt bread recipe helpful as well. Thanks for watching.
Tinaraine I have seen your recipe for the salt bread but I wanted the bajan shape, I even indent it with a handle of a spatula that had a groove to look like the coconut/palm leaf - I wanted it to be original (lol) but they did taste delicious
@@brendaanjorin8222 Now seeing this message, girl it's all in the taste, depend on where you live the leaf may be hard to come by but just enjoy a nice warm bread with some cheese or fishcakes.😍
