I can still remember giggling like a schoolgirl the first time I flew in a reasonable wind, eased the power off more and more till I was half stalling but steadily flying backwards! It was an addictive feeling too. After that, I was the nutcase that other members of the club would ring on a windy day to see if I was crazy enough to be going to go out and fly in it, just so they could come out and watch the crazy person doing that AND getting in the most turbulent patches behind the head of trees etc, invert the model and fight the turbulence whilst juggling stall speed with a silly little AXN floater jet lol. I think from memory, the strongest wind I flew it in was 55 mph, that was getting a little scary as just letting it run with the wind for a couple of seconds would have it taking forever to bring it back against that wind but, so much fun.
Hi, awesome flight characteristics. At Multiplex i started, 50 years ago as apprenticeship. This was the beginning of electric flight. tis time, with teh niCd Batteries we were happy, to keep them in the air, somehow. Cheers, Axel
Super cool video. This is a proper advertise for Multiplex :) I started flying in January buying a second or third hand Turbo Timber 1.5. It was hard to learn but now she is so fun! Since I "landed" on an electrical pole and watching your videos and advice from another guy of the club I bought the Kit from Multiplex for the NG for around 150 bucks. Electronics I had some and bought a motor and ESC on Ali. I think I went overkill after watching a video from a guy of Denmark. You made your NG so light! I´ll see how mine is going. The motor weights 170g and the ESC (80A) around 80g I think xD . If you were going like and Uphill racing bike mine is like a downhill bike, maybe.... Well, the super guys of my club rescued my Timber and with the big 13x4 prop she flyes so consistent also in hard wind but isn´t so capable of 3D flying although I´m just a beginner... on sunday there is a 3D competition for all levels in our club. Since I weill not be able to build my FunCub I´ll just fly my Timber. I have also other planes but landings with the Timber are smoother for me... Sad the NG is so expensive in the US. Here a PNP goes around 300 bucks in the "normal" power version. One thing I have seen, the manual is very poor for being from Germany. LEGO should give them a little help. In our club there are a couple of guys which fly almost solely Multiplex, they seem to be quite good :) Keep doing super videos PS: I´ll need to order some stickers for my planes now. Sad you cant ship a Shirt to Germany
I don't know. Timber X is hard to beat especially when you get the CG set up and by set up I mean put in the metal tail rod, add about 1/2 to 3/4 ounce in the very back of the tail, and then shove the 4S 2200 battery all the way back in that whole disregarding the battery tray entirely, and then max out the control throws and use the flaps as full span ailerons. It lets you really land on a dime and spin and snap until your hearts content. Love the content thanks for the great review.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. The Timber X is marketed as a Sport/3D/bush hybrid, whereas the Fun Cub is tailored directly towards floaty bush flying with some light 3D in the mix. Different missions. Even before adding the weight you mentioned, the X has a wing cube loading of 7.9 as opposed to the Fun Cub NG’s of 5.1. You can definitely feel the added weight between the two. 👍
True that mate haha! I'm 25, fly my buy 50cc size models and my dad still craps himself when Im flying rolling circuits or prop hanging low haha! different generation haha!
@joshua bolton - we were saying that we don't even have that much fun doing open space 3D flying and that we prefer stick and rudder flying in the woods paired with some light 3D aka hovering. Sounds like you enjoy what you're doing though and that's what counts! 👍
Amazing video! The quality of the NG looks significantly better than that of the OG FunCub. I really like that landing gear. I love the goofy look of the OG one though, it’s the laughingstock at the field when i’m flying with my friends 😂
Thanks, you'd definitely love it! If you're ever out in New England, you're always welcome to try and fly it with us. Love your passion for flying and your channel! 😁 -Zach
Awesome! Three points are definitely great with it - but we love the fact that you can now do wheel landings with it without worrying about the gear springing you back in the air. Have fun!
I bought the Next Generation kit and put Value Hobby electronics in it. Cost me $375 total to get it airborne. The inexpensive electronics can hover it and climb straight up like a rocket until you can't see it anymore. It's the most fun you can have with an RC plane. Especially if you have a landing competition with your friends. It can land anywhere you point it. I want to try the RXR to see how the electronics that come with it compare to my cheapos. Another favorite RC plane of mine to fly is the Avios BushMule Twin. Such a fun plane to fly LOS or FPV.
Returning to flying after a long layoff - as in used to fly Ace pulse proportional single channel and 1/2A 2-channel pylon racers (TeeDee 049 engines ftw). Just ordered a FunCub NG to add to a quickly growing hanger. Great channel - really appreciate your approach to the hobby and embracing things outside of the box. THP doesn't suck...
As much as I love watching you guys and your videos, the reference to the late legend Neil Peart has put you guys at a special place in my heart. God bless guys! Thanks for the amazing videos!!
This is a great review. I worked in the RC industry for many years and I've never seen a video review of this quality staying engaging whilst being informative. Nice work.
This one looks like fun. You knew if it will come with floats. Guess we will see it here in europe soon. Nice and good info, and again funny video boys. ❤ this channel . Have a nice weekend ower there😊
There are indeed floats available and this plane has been out for a while so you should be able to snag it in Europe via the multiplex website. Thanks for the support!
So glad to see this review! I have a green kit I picked up a few months ago. Now I have to bump it to the front of the line! Great review as always! You guys are the best! 👊🏻
You should try the Hacker Models Funmaster. I don’t know the exact wing loading on it but I’m sure it’s on the lower side due to its flight characteristics. It’s also made out of EPP foam is is really durable as I’ve crashed it multiple times flying it out of my parents backyard
Its an older design of Hacker Models same as the Master Stick but well loved still to this day for sure. Most don't know of it, both great models from Europe.
I flew the OG Funcub from its release in 2010...i loved this plane... Bought the XL a few years later, because I thought it will fly the same... But no... It was too heavy... So I sold it and came back to my old small Funcub... Then I crashed it... Bought a Night Timber X instead... It was OK, but not the same, but I kept it until today. Tried to find something similar to the Funcub... I wanted something new, and bought the Turbo Timber 1,5m....i was totally disappointed from this plane, and I sold it after the maiden flight. Bought a second hand OG Funcub and finally I was happy again... Now I'm thinking about buying a 2nd Funcub... But now the NG, to see what's the difference to the OG... In this size you will not find another plane that beats the Funcub.... I'm pretty sure...
The OG still is the winner in our book for lightest and most durable and capable STOL park flyer for its size. The NG is a bit less floaty but is still 20+ oz lighter than any other competitor in the current market. This review should clarify most of it.
I love the look of it and I’ve never had the pleasure of flying a fun cub but I may try to build one out of foamboard and make it the same so I can try that
EPIC boys, absolutely EPIC!!! By FAR and AWAY one the Top 10 RC channels on Y-T! Heck, it might even be in my personal Top 5 due to your absolutely HILARIOUS and extremely pithy narration! Oh, and the flying is pretty good too. Keep it up my friends!!
Crazy to hear MPX planes didn't have a distributor in the US for some time. Over here in Germany they are probably the most popular foam planes. Can't think of a RC pilot that doesn't own or hasn't owned a Easy Glider. It probably helps that they are cheaper over here. Here you can get a funcub ng Kit around 150€ (160$) or 330€ (350$) for the RTR...
Exactly - the pricing being higher here in the US is due in part to being imported from Germany. We’re just lucky to be able to get them from MrMPX, no complaints from us! 👍
@@Jackson27mc No joke... $415 USD for a foamie and an additional $50 to ship to the west coast. That is the cost of 1 1/2 Turbo Tiimber Evos 1500 mm (BnF). I don't know if the FunCUB NG is worth 2 Timbers flightwise, but it certainly costs almost that much! LOL! I'm also disputing the FunCUB's Cubic Wing Loading (CWL) claim of 4.7, and that it's going to fly that much better than the Turbo Timber. Using the supplied numbers on Horizon Hobby, I computed the CWL at 7.05 for the Timber. The Timber does weigh a little more than the FunCUB (1.53 Kg vs 1.38 Kg), but the Timber also has a larger wing (1.55m vs 1.41m). I'm going off of posted numbers here. Unfortunately neither MrMPX or Multiplex supply the actual wing area, at least in a format that makes any sense. The number they gave, 40 m2 comes out to 400 dm2, which in turn comes out to a ridiculously low CWL of .18... there is NO WAY that a plane of somewhat similar size and somewhat similar weight with a similar wing geometry (Straight wing "Hershey Bar" profile with a semi-symmetrical airfoil) is going to have that radical of a difference in wing loading or flight characteristics! LOL! However I would definitely compare the FunCUB to Hobby Kings' Frenzy. They have the same wingspan, same weight, the CWL for the Frenzy is 40.3 dm2 (Which DOES make sense) and similar wing shape. The CWP on the Frenzy is 5.57, which I'm thinking is closer to the mark for the FunCUB, weight reductions notwithstanding! LOL! Regardless, that would be an interesting comparison! Oh, and can buy 2 1/4 Frenzys for the cost of one FunCUB! They only cost $200 w/ free shipping. In other words, if Tail Heavy Productions claims that the FunCUB flies better than the Timber, I won't dispute it mainly because I don't have both planes to do a side by side comparison. However, to say that the FunCUB flies $160 better than the Timber, that's where I have an issue! LOL! Will repost this under THP post above.

Haha this is great! I just pulled an OG Funcub out of a box that had been in storage at my In laws house for nearly 5 year's. Id kind of forgotten/given up on the old girl! Looking forward to getting it back up in the air after watching this video!
I’d like to see you do a review on the Funcub XL. I’ve flown a OG Funn Cub for 9 years now and it’s been my GoTo plane for instructing. I looking for something larger for my older students with diminished I sight.
Thanks for this video / report. Was so glad to see it back, but that price seems crazy high to me. If you guys say it's worth it, then it must be so much better than all the other similar size bush planes available today.
My goodness. This an S-Tier review! Well done! I'm fighting the urge to buy this right now, but if I lose the battle I'll leave Mr. MPX a note on my order that you convinced me to buy this.
i still run the original i bought it 2010, preordered the Kit back then. One of my all time favorites. The fun thing is, over here (Switzerland) the PNP Version of the Funcub NG costs a 350chf while a Turbo Timber Evo is 360chf and a Timber X 290chf.
So since I ordered a second NG, does that mean the pair will be worth 4 or 8 Timbers? Not sure if it is a linear or exponential relationship. Either way, I’m finding an SMC 3S 1800 to be kind of a sweet spot for weight and flight time. I swapped to an Avian esc to get reverse. The club field is asphalt, will one wheel land all day long as long as I do my job. Then take it to a local hay field, drop down in full flap forward slip, blip the throttle, then plop down with a soft 3 point. Just a spectacular plane if you’re into low, slow, and working on getting comfortable in tight places.
Funcub NG has a wing area of about 28.6 dm2, 39.9 dm2 is the surface area but according to FAI, taking into consideration all flat surfaces including the horizontal stabilizer - I suspect that it matters when the aircraft is Tail Heavy ;)
I only have an aeroscout mini and my longest flight is about 2 minutes You make flying look so easy but for beginners I’m amazed by the tricks you can do, and I’m sure having ailerons would help
There isn’t a nice way to say this but the aeroscout mini is one of the worst planes made in modern day rc plane history🤣. It was my first plane as well. I almost gave up on the hobby until someone told me try the full size aeroscout. Completely different plane! The mini doesn’t have ailerons and very hard to fly for new pilot.
Hitec servos are exactly multiplex servos since 15 years. Mpx was red , hitex is black but same stuff inside. Im not a big fan of foam planes but mpx stuff flying amazing. I had a mpx Tucan, one of the funniest plane ever had.
Yep, but that being said, they were stamped as Multiplex and whatever the insides were of them, they sucked in comparison to the NG’s servos. We’ve also heard great things about the Tucan! 👍
Only problem I see with Multiplex is inflated prices due to being based in Germany. I have one of their old Shark pusher planes that I like very much, but alas, I can't find any parts in the U.S. It's an old plane so new parts are no more, but even used ones tend to be in Europe and cost prohibitive.
Am I the only one seeing the landing gear smashing through the fuselage foam? What the heck! I owned and loved the original, but I’m liking this one except the gear fuselage tearing thing.
I love this review. Very detailed and full of information. I also enjoy the comparison to other planes as to get a feel for this one. I placed a back order for the Funcub NG because of you. Thank you for this video. Dear Multiplex,.. only modification I would ask for is ability for the flaps to move both directions so that full span ailerons is possible.
Awesome! Thank you. If Multiplex were to do that, it would need to be a different plane meant for 3D because the slotted flaps on the FunCub are part of what makes it do slow flight so well. Plain flaps don't generate nearly as much added lift.
I’ve been seeing them on eBay a while now however it’s 200$ and 45$ to ship from England I think I would save the extra 300$ and wait the time for it to show up lol 😂 I might just pick one up. Thanks for the push 😂
The adverse yaw is almost non existent if you setup differential ailerons as suggested in the manual. But yes, the throws will not be as drastic as in the video.
Seems like you like the landing gear set up on this plane... but not so much on the Eflite Slow Ultra Stick. Could this landing gear be zip tied to the stick on the Slow Ultra Stick?
Great fun and informative video, I’ve had little RC experience and none with Multiplex, but now you’ve fired up my enthusiasm . At a recent club auction I purchased two new in the box original MPX planes, a FunCub and an Easy Glider Pro You commented that the original FunCub needed to be upgraded, what do you suggest that I do when building it?
Great content.. how is your FPV coming along? Have you flown the Ultrix 600mm? You might actually find this to be an amazingly awesome versatile fun flying rig
Thanks! FPV has been fun. We gave Cody our Bronco rig and he has been having a blast with it. We've been told about the Ultrix quite a bit and I do think that they should be on the horizon for us as future airplanes to try, the UMX included. They do look really fun. 😁
That was very entertaining, might have to check one of them out. You guys beed to get a Volantex Ascent Trainstar and put it through the ringer for us cheap mofos in the world lol. Happy Landings, Gents!
The fun cub is back!? I got a og one when they first came out! So much fun! I flew it so much! Even with floats, and snow ski's. The motor mounts came apart, though, and it died. I got a turbo timber, and I hate it. so heavy, can't take off or land on grass like the FC.
Lol i guess the next question is do i get the fun cub ng as my first stol plan or the fms 1300mm . Going to buy a separate transmitter as you suggested in your other videos but im really torn between this or the fms as its my first 😂
Is there a cheaper descent motor option that can be used in the kit? I’m interested in getting one, but Cost is an issue. trying to keep the cost down.. I figure I can always upgrade the motor later.
Have you guys tried the hobby king tundra or tundra prime? Would love to see you guys do a review. I have a tundra and an fms pa 18 1.3 both in 4s. I find the tundra to fly lighter and slower.. better for bush flying but the pa 18 does acrobatics better. Wondering if you think the tundra would be a good alternative to the fun cub for almost half the price with floats.
There really isn’t an alternative for the FunCub out there that flies as floaty and light because everything else is a pound heavier. We always suggest the 1.3M FMS Cub as a great intro to bush flying plane, but only if kept on 3s and flown light with a 1300 3s in the nose. 👍 We aren’t fans of the Tundra.
@Pia Schlaufer - unfortunately, the FMS Kingfisher comes in 2nd from the worst out of the park flyer bush planes we've looked into behind the 1300mm FMS Cub for wing cube loading/WCL (aka how floaty and light the plane would fly). It comes in at a 9.0WCL as opposed to the FunCub's of 5.1WCL. You'd definitely feel a difference in how it flies in confined spaces for bush flying as opposed to the FunCub. For more info on WCL, check out the video description.
I'll stick with my Tundra. Lighter and cheaper, includes floats. Now with reverse. I'm not trying to bash this plane or company, but $375 is way over my buget for chunks of foam.
I never scored a Fun Cub, but I fly the "Funny Cub" like I stole it and do just about everything you mention here. Being made of EPP, it is virtually indestructible with a bit of carbon bracing.
First - this plane wasn’t designed for 3D beyond hovering, so no reason to. Second - the flaps are true slotted flaps and hinged as such. They only will move one way. 👍 😁
Really interesting video thanks ! I'm not sure whether to get RR or buy the Kit version so I can get a reversing ESC straight out the box - would you guys have bought the kit version if you started again?
Thanks! There is no reversing ESC out of the box. Since the RR comes with great electronics and we had the spares to swap what we didn't need, it made the most sense.
@@TailHeavyProductions yeah i worded that badly, was wondering if I should get the kit and buy all electronics to avoid having a spare ESC, but seeing as ESC are pretty cheap maybe i just get the RR and swap it when I want to bring in reversing. Thanks!
That's just it - by definition, added weight for roughly the same sized wing area = higher 1G stall speed in any given configuration. It really isn't slower than other Timbers (the OG red Timber still holds that title), and we disliked our Timber X so much we got rid of it after only owning it for two weeks. The Timber X is also a completely different airplane than the Fun Cub NG. It’s marketed as a 3D/bush hybrid, whereas the Fun Cub is tailored directly towards floaty light weight bush flying with some light 3D in the mix (hovering). Different missions. The Timber X has a wing cube loading of 7.9 as opposed to the FunCub NG’s of 5.1. You can definitely feel the added weight between the two. The Flex RV-8 10e outflies the Timber X 3D and sport flying wise by a long shot. 👍
hopefully getting an og 1st gen timber soon and im exited to see the differences compared to my tiber evo. do yall still have a 1st gen timber? i would love to see a video with all the timbers including the XL.
difference is night and day. You cannot compete with how light a fun cub is. The timber evo is way too heavy at 7 pounds-ish, fun cub is about 2 pounds
@@monchichis333 yeah but i think the original timber is a better comparison wing loading wise. but no timber can be a funcub. alothough i think it would be cool if Horizon made a TIMBER LITE and gave me a bunch of money for the idea.🤣
The 1st Gen Timber is 10oz lighter than the Timber Evo, but the Fun Cub NG is still 5-8 oz lighter than even the 1st Gen Timber and can take much more abuse. There really is no comparison.
@@TailHeavyProductions hey do you think there is a chance of flex inovations making a parkflyer high wing bush plane? i think they would do a really good job.
@@wild_blueFPV7958 the new twin otter is ginnabe great....and the Cessna from flex is a pretty amazing park flyer....depending on the park and how skilled you are at flying....
Why is the timbers Turbo evo so heavy anyways? The twin timbers is even heavier by about 900g. Way more than the weight of the swcond motor. Where Is all that weight going?
Amazing review! I have a quick question though. I saw your review on the FMS 1300mm PA-18, and in it you said it was the best bush plane for beginners. I am getting into RC flying, and because of the environment I live in having my first plane be a bush plane is pretty much a necessity. If you had to say, do you think the FMS 1300mm PA-18 or FunCub NG would be a better first plane? I would really appreciate your feedback, thanks in advance!
i realize this is the same price range as others of its kind, but seems like alot of money for a foam plane? i have been flying for many decades andd have quiet a few myself but the last 2 years or so.. the price tags have been a little discouraging. it seems like almost any plane or boat i buy i end up having to put my own motor and esc in it in the end. excpet some of the bnfs . i only expect so much out of those unless i want more speedd or power outta em
I love RC foamys but $500 dollars. I thought Flex Innovations was expensive until I saw this. Now my $329 Mamba doesn't seem too bad.

@@TailHeavyProductions Fair enough!
Great content. A new generation of RC hobby entertainment where risks are integral to the fun.
Thank you! Pattern flying or even pure 3D in an open space don't excite us as much as bush flying in the woods. Fly outside the box! 📦✈
The way your content is going 📈📈❤
Amazing video! The quality of the NG looks significantly better than that of the OG FunCub. I really like that landing gear. I love the goofy look of the OG one though, it’s the laughingstock at the field when i’m flying with my friends 😂
Thanks, you'd definitely love it! If you're ever out in New England, you're always welcome to try and fly it with us. Love your passion for flying and your channel! 😁 -Zach
Yup, the cash I was saving for another Plane is now going towards this, that looks so fun!
Bought mine second hand a few days ago. I LOVE IT. 3 and 2 point landings are so satisfying. Looking forward to learn some acro on it.
Recently got my NG funcub as a result of this video, definitely worth the purchase if you’re into bush flying. Thanks tail heavy 👍😎
Thanks for the support!
woah, airforceproud95 AND tailheavy productions in one video?? this is a dream come true!!!
I knew you had to get one! keeping the funcubs alive xd
I used to keep one in the car for flying anywhere, they were awesome
Great flying guys!!
Multiplex planes are just great! I fly them myself, I am glad that I can get them easier, because I live in Germany
Nothing makes me happier then seeing a new thp video got posted
I've been waiting all week for this. Looks like an excellent value.
I'm a german too and 50% of my dads and my RC planes are from mpx. It really helps that they're cheaper here (as @RcRalf96 said)
wich is still expensive compaired to , arrows , fms, avios and e-flite. ( flex innovaton is difficult to purcase in the netherlands and expensive

Awesome! Great thing I live in europe, and the NG is the same price, or even a bit cheaper than lets say a Timber. I think I'll pick one up!
You had me at "two Timbers". Bought one today, maiden tomorrow! Here in Sweden the price is less than a Timber, what could go wrong?
Always wanted to see an NG vid after seeing your comment on Multiplex's NG product video...
Happy Landings!
I’d like to see you do a review on the Funcub XL.
I’ve flown a OG Funn Cub for 9 years now and it’s been my GoTo plane for instructing. I looking for something larger for my older students with diminished I sight.
You guys are crazy y’all made me bought this plane 😂 I was on the fence btw it and the timber. This review cements nails it👍
Got my NG after watching your OG funcub movie. Put in a 4s setup with a big esc. Its like a helicopter!!
Thanks for this video / report. Was so glad to see it back, but that price seems crazy high to me. If you guys say it's worth it, then it must be so much better than all the other similar size bush planes available today.
It‘s only very slightly more expensive than the original Funcub in Germany.
its like 300$ in germany. Taxes and shipping make it expensive.
I always have to have a cub in the hanger that how I learnt to use a rudder 🤙🏻 all cubs are fun a lot like the fms beaver ❤️
Hit 2 Pinetrees 2 times yesterday, it was amazing, and its survived.
😁
This is a win win for sure 👍🏻 very nice piloting as well fellas and editing. Keep it up.
I only have an aeroscout mini and my longest flight is about 2 minutes
You make flying look so easy but for beginners I’m amazed by the tricks you can do, and I’m sure having ailerons would help
You tell me this a month after I get my timber… there goes this months check
Hitec servos are exactly multiplex servos since 15 years. Mpx was red , hitex is black but same stuff inside.
Im not a big fan of foam planes but mpx stuff flying amazing. I had a mpx Tucan, one of the funniest plane ever had.
Yep, but that being said, they were stamped as Multiplex and whatever the insides were of them, they sucked in comparison to the NG’s servos. We’ve also heard great things about the Tucan! 👍
You guys are the king of bush flying.
Really enjoyed the different flight spots and crazy landings. Great review btw.
Thank you!
Am I the only one seeing the landing gear smashing through the fuselage foam? What the heck! I owned and loved the original, but I’m liking this one except the gear fuselage tearing thing.
You have to land it pretty hard to get it to do that. That's one of our specialties. 😁
This is actually my trainer airplane. I was surprised when I saw you guys made a video about it.
I started flying in January and I could never get used to flying with a aileron rudder mix
OK - I might have to buy one.... great and honest review - thank you
Finally you did buy it before me😅 let's watch this now!❤
I’ve been seeing them on eBay a while now however it’s 200$ and 45$ to ship from England I think I would save the extra 300$ and wait the time for it to show up lol 😂 I might just pick one up. Thanks for the push 😂
Dude you rule. Burns are hilarious.
Was waiting for this review to drop!! If i go to germany should i bring anything multiplex back for you guys?
👀
I have an OG fun cub still in the box, been meaning to build it
Great video as usual!
Good question...worth a shot!
Great video!
I placed a order for this because of this video. Can’t wait!
Thanks for a great review
Awesome! You’ll love it. Thanks!
I remember the original version, didnt know there was a new one.
Thanks! Check out the video description from our video titled, “Flying Where You Shouldn't | Bush Flying the FunCub” for our set up. 👍
@@TailHeavyProductions , thank you, another great video that’s going to guide my build and then try a new style of flying it.
Thanks Zach! Now my wallet might get thinner! Was wanting to update to a newer one, still have the old tho.
Looks fun. Great presentation.
That was very entertaining, might have to check one of them out.
You guys beed to get a Volantex Ascent Trainstar and put it through the ringer for us cheap mofos in the world lol.
Happy Landings, Gents!
Build an ALMODELS Super Cub PA-18 pls.
Sick, I’ve been looking for something to replace my Tundra after they quit making it.
I had the OG timber and absolutely hated it. Idk why it got so popular. This looks like such a better airplane
I still have and fly my OG funcub and can't decide between an NG or a Carbon Z CUB 2.1 tho 👉👈
finnaly a new vidio:)
The fun cub is back!? I got a og one when they first came out! So much fun! I flew it so much! Even with floats, and snow ski's. The motor mounts came apart, though, and it died. I got a turbo timber, and I hate it. so heavy, can't take off or land on grass like the FC.
This one has been out for a while but just was hard to find in the US for a while. We hear ya on heavy Timbers! 😢
Ordered a new NG! So happy rc stol is great again.
Lol i guess the next question is do i get the fun cub ng as my first stol plan or the fms 1300mm . Going to buy a separate transmitter as you suggested in your other videos but im really torn between this or the fms as its my first 😂
If you’re proficient with stick and rudder flying and spot landings then go with the funcub - if not, the FMS cub will take more abuse. 👍
Mine is waiting in the basement! :D cool you got one!
Is there a cheaper descent motor option that can be used in the kit? I’m interested in getting one, but Cost is an issue. trying to keep the cost down.. I figure I can always upgrade the motor later.
I’d like to see a review of the floats in the future
How does one set up thrust reversing on this aircraft? Do you require a change of ESC or is there a mixer/electrical plug-in to do it?
@@TailHeavyProductions well I just happen to have some 1300 3S’. I’ll give it a go! Thanks
Whats about the fms kingfisher
Why not turn the flaps into full span ailerons to help with some 3D manoeuvres?
Thanks!
@@TailHeavyProductions So what replacement ESC did you use that has reverse installed? Do you have to use spektrum?
YES YOU FINALLY GOT ONE!!!
Make a Review on the timber x it's a 3d/bush plane and even with all its weight it manages to fly way slower than the other timbers
@@wild_blueFPV7958 the new twin otter is ginnabe great....and the Cessna from flex is a pretty amazing park flyer....depending on the park and how skilled you are at flying....
need to defrost my freezer ( ate all the ice-cream already ) so TIMBER !
Is that Wells Beach again!?
I like this plane very easy to fly!
Why is the timbers Turbo evo so heavy anyways? The twin timbers is even heavier by about 900g. Way more than the weight of the swcond motor. Where Is all that weight going?
I cant belive they stopped making the og if it was that good. I mean they have to be able to create a new mold for it?
Amazing review! I have a quick question though. I saw your review on the FMS 1300mm PA-18, and in it you said it was the best bush plane for beginners. I am getting into RC flying, and because of the environment I live in having my first plane be a bush plane is pretty much a necessity. If you had to say, do you think the FMS 1300mm PA-18 or FunCub NG would be a better first plane? I would really appreciate your feedback, thanks in advance!
No problem! The Fun Cub NG won’t take nearly as much abuse from a beginner as the FMS Cub will, especially around the gear.
Any multiplex plane is worth two Timbers 😆
8:23 that guy is also kinda weird
Great video, this is awesome !!
I`m so happy ight now, found out that my dad has the og fun cub in his basement.
i realize this is the same price range as others of its kind, but seems like alot of money for a foam plane? i have been flying for many decades andd have quiet a few myself but the last 2 years or so.. the price tags have been a little discouraging. it seems like almost any plane or boat i buy i end up having to put my own motor and esc in it in the end. excpet some of the bnfs . i only expect so much out of those unless i want more speedd or power outta em
