Thank you dude! When I started the army I decided that each salamander in my army would have their own flames on their armor. Many flames later, they're still hard to paint lol.
Hey! I was wondering what dreadnought is the best to get for salamanders currently and what weapon options? as I'm currently saving up and I really can't decide.
@@NewbHammer40Kget closer for flammers faster? The lore that since all the members are adept at forging their own gear the techmarines can put more focus into the vehicles?
I litteraly just started getting into warhammer and the army I want to make is salamanders, I'm still struggling to understand how to properly play because of the rules and skills that each unit or legion can do. So this is huge help for me even though theres some stuff i still get confused by, even so I wont look like an idiot too much while playing now HAHAHA
Same dude!! What all do you have to start lol I just got 5 infernus marines I got from a starter box trying to see what to get next without breaking my wallet I get why they call it warhammer 40k now 🤣🤣
@@NewbHammer40K question, is a Centurion Assult squad a good replacement for eradicators because in my army layout its so close to 1500. but if I use the eradicators im left with alot of points sooo??
Brother the exact same happened to me and then one introductory set later ive painted my first salamander! In the wrong colour but don't worry I'm heading to the closest shop to me to buy a different one lol (colour)
The Forged in Battle Enhancement is really nice I think. I cannot count the amount of times where my Aggressors got shot at with high AP high Damage weapons and the Captain just said: „Yeah na Yeah, that missed save is actually saved“. Opponents hate this Trick.
Great video. I have played AoS for a few years and am slowly getting into 40k. I have about four units of Salamanders, working on painting them up. I look forward to adding to their ranks and hopefully getting them out for a battle in 2025. In a smaller, friendly game (1,000 points), do they really need transports to be effective? Or are they able to plod their way on foot into proper flamer range, provided there is at least some good cover, on the smaller board size?
I play salamanders and black Templar, mainly salamanders, and land raider redeemer is a beast in this detachment, it’s usually my mvp, then if it gets shot, 6 flame storm aggressors with a Gravis captain jump out with burning vengeance, and then captain ability for free immolation protocol = dead unit. Then add Vulkan to give us oath of moment pre-nerf, at close to mid range, it’s a hard army to beat
That sounds awesome well done! I’m thinking about picking up Vulkan he’stan myself, he’s just an older model and I wonder if he’s ever due for a refresh. Also waiting for the real Vulkan to show back up!
@@philgagnon275 Yeah the unit getting out would of a destroyed vehicle is. Burning vengeance targets the transport vehicle, and then allows the embarked unit to activate. So the transport would have to survive at least one unit's shooting phase in order to use burning vengeance. It's really just a matter of activating before you think the vehicle takes lethal damage.
I love Salamanders, but i need to add Aggressors and Eradicators to my army. Also i wanted to know if I need a lieutenant and an ancient yo go with my bladeguard or add three more regular bladeguards?
That's a tough one. I'd probably go with the 2 leaders honestly, depends on what you want this unit to do. It'd be a 100 points for the lieutenant and the ancient and 90 points for 3 more bladeguard. The lieutenant and the ancient each have 5 attacks and the bladeguard have 4 each, so we're taking 10 vs 12 attacks. The lethal hits and the fall back, shoot and charge from the lieutenant are pretty rad though and the ancient also increases your OC by 1 for all models is useful.
@@ArnovonDargen well there is already the land raider redeemer with 2 flame cannons thats common to run in them, i want something like their forgemasters being like their unique version of techmarines
I really need some help. I recently got into 40k and went with the rule of cool and decided to get the dark angels patrol box. I am beyond disappointed with how bad they are. Ive already bought models, codex and paints. Im wondering if i can just paint my dark angels like salamanders and pick up a few more space marines and just start playing salamanders. The green paints i have can make it work. I appreciate any guidance. Thank you in adcance.
You definitely can! I’m not sure if you’ve bought the new combat patrol with the Gravis captain or the older one with the dreadnought but it doesn’t because neither of those boxes came with any dark angels specific units and all of those models are available for salamanders. Unfortunately, that dark angels codex will be useless and you’ll just be using the space marine codex but hopefully you’ll be having more fun! Good luck and I hope the salamanders are more to your liking
I’m new to the game I have a infernus marine with captain I got from a starter box, I’m trying to do a 500 point army first what should I get ie boxes and stuff 😓😓I really like the hobby and stuff but kinda overwhelmed
If you want to lean into the salamanders theme I’m not sure any of the boxes are the best fit. I would probably look into getting some aggressors with the flamers and maybe an impulsor just because it’s a cheap transport to use those stratagems. Good luck!
Can someone plss lookover my team and review it? I just started getting into warhammer and this is the army Im making Salamander Army Vulkan He stan, 10x Infernus marines, Adrax Agatone, 3x Blade guard vets, Captain in Gravis Armor with war tempered artifice enhancement, 6x Aggressors, Land raider, 5x Infiltraiters, 5x Intercesors, 3x Centurion Assault squad, Balistus Dreadnought. Plss give tips or ideas on what I can improve😅
I might another transport. Either an impulsor with 5 more infernus marines or a land raider redeemer with the bigger capacity to fit that whole aggressor plus captain unit. Super sick start though!
I wish but I haven’t heard anything about that. I think that was an older edition thing. This edition I believe the only space chapters to get their own codex are blood angels, dark angels, space wolves, and death watch. (Technically grey knights also). I believe all that the salamanders are gonna get this edition is this detachment.
I don't believe there are any official rules for combining factions into one army in 10th edition, in fact the rules actually disapprove of it a bit. But if you're playing casually people shouldn't give you a hard time if that's something you want to do. Just make sure to have some good lore to back it up lol.
Adrax is also good with 10 assault intercessors, flamer and hammer on the sargeant and lieutenant with shield and vol kite pistol Casual play pretty good
I've played Salamanders for decades, love them, they're the best Marines!!!!
very nicely made brother, love to see fellow Salamanders. also very nice paintjob love the flames

very thorough and well explained. id LOVE a video on blood angels for 10v
Salamanders beginner here, super helpful video because i had been scouring for their rules in 10th edition and this was great! Thank you brother
Glad it helped!

Approved by me, a fellow salamander player. Man i wish we had less transport stuff and more fire stuff.
Good to hear! yeah, I don't quite know they leaned so hard into the transports, luckily the flamer strats are pretty strong.
