    In the early 60's the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago used to have a large collection of US Navy ship models. Some over 8 feet long. Superbly detailed and of course to scale. I could spend an hour going from ship to ship taking in the experience. I went back years later and was unable to find the exhibit.

    • @Volsheb_Nik_Studio
      @Volsheb_Nik_Studio  Год назад

      Yeah, time by time scale modeling clubs arrange exhibitions in museums. As example I had scale model exhibition in Latvian Car museum, and then couple of scale model shows in Latvian War Museum. In Croatia they organize scale model show in aviation museum. I like this idea. It attract more visitors and helps to highlight attention to scale modeling :)
      Thanks for watching!
      BTW, since you like ships I believe you would love video from previous Moson Show: ruclips.net/video/zZdlj7kuOmM/видео.html

    What a great video. Wonderful filmwork and commentary. Would it be possible to add details of whether each of these models were "scratch built" or from "commercially available models kits?"

      @Volsheb_Nik_Studio  Год назад

      Thank you for kind words. Really happy you enjoy the video - great motivation to do more like that. And for the next scale model show I will try to implement your idea about kit brand or scratch-build. I like it! Although it will take more effort.
      Kind Regards

    Some amazing models and creative dioramas here, they are all winners in my mind as I know how much intricate work goes into a ship,boat and the pride when finished..edit: Would be interesting to see someone submit an ironclad from the American Civil War, warships are my main ship builds although I just completed a Revell 1:400 R.M.S Titanic.

      Hi Brian, thank you for kind words. I believe finishing ship model is great feeling of success. Really it is huge work. I have started U-boat. Was hoping for fast build, but I found it is not that easy too :) But I like all kind of ships and plan to build one some day :)

    Cool report! It was my first Moson and certainly not last - a small error - HMS Aurora at the end is my model and I am from Slovenia, not Croatia. I was also a bit disappointed by the placement of the models - the huge Mississippi at the front of the table, hiding my small Aurora and other ships behind it totally.

    • @Volsheb_Nik_Studio
      @Volsheb_Nik_Studio  Год назад +1

      Hi Sebastijan, glad to see you here. Thank you for clarification about country. Not sure why I put Croatia. Sorry for that. And I agree, Mississippi is too huge to put it in the very front. Other cool models were hidden. Small models should be placed in the front.
      But I assume it was decision of Mississippi owner, not organizers. Modelers coming and putting models in different times and as you noticed, sometimes there is no much free space.Next time I advise to double-check your model position at about 11:00AM on Saturday when model registration is finished ;) See you next time ;)

    • @Volsheb_Nik_Studio
      @Volsheb_Nik_Studio  Год назад +1

      By the way, about the country. When your register models, there are fields called City and Country. BOTH are related to modeler, not to the model. This info then is used for Award ceremony ;) So,, do not skip it :)

    • @DoktorTomcat
      @DoktorTomcat Год назад +1

      @@Volsheb_Nik_Studio actually, there was only space for the city and no mention of country on the register form, which I found odd but went along with it. I noticed during the awards ceremony most had just the town named. But it doesn't really matter.

    • @Volsheb_Nik_Studio
      @Volsheb_Nik_Studio  Год назад +2

      Did you register online or by filling up registration form when you arrived to Moson? I can't recall exactly were was the field called Country located on the online form, maybe it was below model name :) That is why I think it lead to think that it is Country for model :) I hope they will fix this. But as you say, it is not a big deal anyway :)

This year now pandemic and I will have more chances to practice ;) See you!

    So the contestants shipped their models from all over the world? That must take some effort and risk given how detailed and fragile they can be.

    • @Volsheb_Nik_Studio
      @Volsheb_Nik_Studio  Год назад

      Hi Keith! Well, sometimes modelers to that. But in most cases they prefer to attend the show and come to the show with their models :) Or I know gang of modelers from Sweden who load up truck with models with takes 2 days trip but they take a flight instead to save time.
      I prefer to drive by car. If you plan the trip well, you cam see some new cities and museums. Like this time, I went to Krakow and visited aviation museum there. Then we took a trip to Szolnok through spectacular mountain roads. And then visited Raptar aviation museum in Szolnok. Next day we went to Budapest to enjoy city center lights on the bridges and spectacular view from the hill on the city. And visit another aviation museum there called Aviapark. And finally arrived to Moson Show. You can see how much interesting could be the trip. I have a lot of footage from that one. Hopefully I will share those videos with you some day :) So, please subscribe to not miss it ;)

    I saw the IJN seaplane carrier Chitose briefly, after the Venetian Galley, and wanted a closer look, but the camera just kept moving along inexorably…

      Thanks for your comment. Yeah, sorry I had no time for detail filming of every model. That IJN Chitose was very small and I had to zoom/cut that piece of film to show it. Other models attract mode of my attention. But next time I will try to make a short pause on each model ;)

    Your Scanning and Video of the Models is Way too FAST . These models deserve adequate time to view and appreciate . In addition ,you should be filming in HD mode to show details more clearly .
    I had to view your video on HALF Speed to be able to see the models more clearly .
    Thank you for Sharing
    Cheers ~

    While it is interesting video overall, I do find constant "fade-to-black" transitions really annoying.

      @Volsheb_Nik_Studio  Год назад

      Hi, thanks for your feedback. About transitions, well, for me it looks good and easy to do. I tried others in videos before and didn't found any better. If you can recommend other transitions which works better, please replay with video and second at which you found better transition. I would be very happy to improve my videos even more. :)

      @@Volsheb_Nik_Studio Just from curiosity I've watched again videos from this show made by other youtubers and videos from recent Japanese Shizuoka show - Most people tends to either fade clips picture to picture or just ignore transitions completely and stitch the clips directly. In the end those transitions are not really noticeable in other videos, in your videos the black screen makes transitions stand out in a bad way, the screen basically starts blinking on short clips.
      Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy your videos. You managed to show models that some others for some reason ignored and ended up with one of the most interesting selection I've seen so far, so keep up the good work :)

      Hello. I’ve been editing video science 1986. Yes yes I’m old.
      The old school thought on transitions vs. cuts is this: the transitions are the beginnings of a paragraph. The cuts are the periods or spaces between sentences. The transition is a break in location or thought. Dissolves between shots can be both. Change of location/subject, or used over and like a cut. A“smoothing cut” to lessen the changes between shots. Think soft music and flowing images.
      I think you might be worried about “jump cuts.”
      One of the reasons to use transitions sparingly was the fact that editing was done from videtape to videotape and required suite of machines (A/B editing suite!) to make a dissolve or dip or such. This would cost hundreds of dollars and hour and required two people. I am not kidding. These high tech room-filled effect filled editing systems were controlled by very early computer systems that ran the machines and switcher. It was bare bones and yet costly that a fellow who wrote the editing software that sped up the process won an Emmy.

      @@randomnickify No worries, I a happy to hear constructive advices. I am not professional in filming. Just learn it by doing and your feedback is very worthy for me. And it is important for me to have my channel guests as much fun as possible.
      Thanks for watching other videos and comparing with mine. Highly appreciate that! So, from what you say, I see that my transitions from one piece to another are too long and this produce that black screen effect.
      How do you think I can improve this? Should I use shorter transition time? E.g. almost instant?
      Or is it also about use of other transitions? E.g. when one clip "overlaps" with another one for short time?
      Sorry, I have a lot of small pieces, a lot of cuts. But that is because I tried to remove content that is not worth, like transition of camera from one object to another, blury pictures, etc...
      So, if you have idea ideas, I would be happy to hear.
