I'm shocked to see a Playmaker video titled "Angevin Kingdom" where he starts as England. I have come to expect his Angevin Kingdom run to start as Cuzco, form Kongo, switch to Mayan religion, then flip to the Teutons, become a Holy Horde, get some modifiers from Sardinia-Piedmont then become Angevin from some obscure route in the Dutch mission tree.
Unfortunately, you can't flip to Teutons (unless releasing as vassal, which nullify all previous modifiers). Otherwise, he would form Prussia as ANY nation with ANY religion.

angevin -> revoke gotta by my favourite WC start. definitely not optimal but its fun to essentially diplo annex all of germany while blobbing up iberia
Castile is so strong at the beginning of the game because they have morale of armies in their base ideas.

I never touch Brittany, it's a lot of AE at the start which is not good.
When you play England or France you can ally them, raise the trust to 100 and wait to be big enough to diplo vassalize them, it worked every time.
It's a decent ally too because for its position it will never engage in a war
I always PU France in the surrender of maine war, you can quite consistently get allies to 10 favours before the war pops and if not then shortly after, if you merc stack the allies just distract while you get to 60% WS
Castile starts with bonus morale, France needs to take some ideas in order to get it. Very early game Castile has the quality advantage.

I've found that starting as England it's worth it to go quite a bit over force limit in the initial war, simply because you'll be so powerful after.

Restart your game until burg isnt rivalled and you have the crownland debate. Saves a lot of time and annoyance. But remember if you pu france before you get the inheritance burgandy will attack orleans because ai doesnt calculate overlords overlord and break your alliance, repeatedly on truce end.
The point is we don't restart/ rely on RNG. we also dont alt f4

Concerning zoc you can always walk from your land to the opponent land. AI doesn't cheat, although it is really counter intuitive.
If you do an Italy playthrough. I have some ideas you can use/take advantage of as basically any Italian starting nation if you wanted to form Rome later or something. 1 Tuscany can give you a free diplomat that decreases prestige decay by 2 (it's in the mission tree). 2 Tuscany also gives you free monarch points in the mission tree if you happen to have kingdom rank (you just need to be producing 12 diplo points a month and not have any loans. Be an ally with 2 nations with there capital in Italy. Own the entire state above Tuscany. exactly in that order in the mission tree, also you can get around 2 free stability from the missions). 3 if you trigger the bonfire of vanities you can become a theocracy for free and gain a free stability (though unless I'm mistaken this is exclusive to Tuscany and Florence). 4 two sicilies gives stuff like 1 permanent tolerance of the true Faith and 50 reform progress in the mission tree. 5 two sicilies in the age of reformation can get a small event chain to become a Italian signoria (this is notable if you wanted to form Tuscany. The reason being that it starts you off with enough Republican tradition to trigger the bonfire of vanities very quick. though you would have around a 30 year time limit before the bonfire of vanities can't happen, also you need to be a monarchy for the event chain to be possible). 6 Milan in it's mission tree can get stuff like silk and a temporary free reform progress modifier, 7 saluzzo has better national ideas than any Italian formables aside from Italy itself and (technically) Rome. 8 without winds of change Venice in it's mission tree can get a modifier that adds 1 point to the stats of the candidates for a republic that uses a lottery based election (the Venice government reform and sortition) if you happened to have every reform tier, 9 most of the missions for Italian formables that involve religion are easier while Catholic aside from Tuscany where you would need to rely on the odds of becoming the papal controller so you can get the free diplomat

When I have good ideas I have good ideas. I just don't always have them all the time. Also if you do an Italy playthough then it's worth keeping in mind that the province of Rome has a monument that is only useful as a Catholic. However the capital of Milan and a province owned by the papal state next to France both contain monuments that are useful regardless of whether your reformed protestant or Catholic, they might not all be immediately helpful but they are worth having (if you decide to use the advice for Italy. Saluzzo will give the best help via national ideas but has generic missions and starts as an opm. Milan starts in a good position but has a bad starting ruler with a worse consort and no heir but can become a unique type of republic (if you want to be the most Italian Italy then you could use the reform, though you also could go with a military dictatorship if you want to be more similar to world war 2 Italy). Venice has a large mission tree and mostly ok ideas (though to be fair it's because it's more focused on trade) and needs to have a big change in there government by the time of the age of absolutism because lots of there reforms cut there max absolutism, though each are valid starts that can get a lot out of Italy)

There is a bug where if you declare on the isles on 11 december for some reason it doesn't call france into the war so you can 1v1 scotland early check it out
it's not a bug, it's because france is guaranteing Scotland and not The Isles

Same happens with Athens and Byz. If you guarantee Byz the Ottos attack Athens instead.
