- Michael Chapman (born 1941) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. Chapman originally began playing guitar with jazz bands, mainly in his home town of Leeds. He became well known in the folk clubs of the late 1960s, as well as on the 'progressive' music scene, and has recorded over 40 albums to date.
Spotlight was a music show for the youth, which was aired between 1968 and 1978 by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). It was the counterpart to the shows "Beat Club" or "Musikladen" in Germany. Видеоклипы
First time I saw Mike, back in 1970, he played the instrumental “Thank You PK 1945” and he just blew the audience away. Been a fan ever since.
Rest easy now, R.I.P. Michael Chapman 💚
RIP Mike top man.
R.I.P.

I only learnt of him from watching old grey whistle test on tv.
Love it! Fantastic guitar playing!
So true. Love this.
Спасибо.
Everyone play his ‘last polish breakfast’. It’s as good as any jansch composition
RIP. Variation on Robert Johnson's "They're Red Hot" in a way (hell, both might have been riffing off of the same source), but still very much his own thing. That's how it often goes. Pick something up and then gIve it your own spin. Great player, regardless.
Cameraman missed the lead
The camera angles ignore the playing.
Quite incredible choice of camera angles.

Incredibly ignoring the playing.
Sadly typical of the era.

I know this as "naked ladies in electric ragtime"
