I was going to remind you all to do something, however, so that I wouldn't forget, I had to remind myself to remind you all, which overwrote the save data and put me back at square one.
NOTES/CORRECTIONS --Reply to this comment if there's anything you feel needs correcting and I'll put it here. NOTES --One NASA source states NASA bought specialized mechanical pencils for considerably more than what they would later pay for the space pen (specifically it was $128.89 for 34 pencils). This number is repeated in articles about the story but the in terms of sources the figure shows up literally nowhere else and I can't get NASA to reply to my emails or death threats, if anyone has more info on this lemme know please. --At 1:37, I got the impression getting graphite in the eyes was a bigger problem for astronauts than inhaling it, but this wasn't really fleshed out in anything I could find and coughing is funnier anyway. CORRECTIONS --If anything is corrected it will go here.
yes I have a correction. the RUclips algorithm is fucking cruel and you should have a massive following by now. I have watched all your videos and liked each one and it's content that's much better than on many many popular historical channels. it will bring a smile to my face once you start making money off your channel because you definitely deserve it man...I don't mean to sound selfish but I hope you keep going with this for as long as your able to because it's always a better day when I see that notification you uploaded
I imagine the lung issues were probably less of an issue than graphite potentially causing electrical shorts and starting fires, which would roast the astronauts alive, i.e., the Apollo 1 disaster
I think I found your channel through the British Flag on Hawaii video. This video was great also though! I love the way you talk about history/facts that you genuinely care about. It definitiely makes you more bearable to watch than some other channels which just go "Here's a thing somebody else said; I'm going to put stock images over me reading that". Keep it up!
With the right ink they also work great under water, and they are a novelty/historical anecdote (or talking piece). So most buy them because they're amusing, some for historical relevance, and a very few because they actually need them. Though being able to write upside down can also be occasionally useful.
found your channel from the short on commonwealths and wanted to say that i am absolutely obsessed with your content! very excited to binge all of your content, and i'm excited to check out the collab this was apart of too!
I had to explain why this misconception to my mentor in college. He was from Uruguay, so his understanding was based on what be was told by average American
you are the hero I didn't know I needed this week. thank you gamon. just remember me when the almighty algorithm decides to feature one of your videos and you get 100k subs in a day.

@@ChessedGamonwe miss you man. hoping to see some of your unique content this summer
@@skeetrix5577 WELL GUESS WHAT
Ok but NASA could've saved $2000 if they just inhaled a little graphite dust
I mean it is really not that much.
Loved the video! Excited for more!
Thanks! I'll try my best!

They said millions of dollars not billions
Ordinary ball-point pens work in space and, according to ESA astronaut Pedro Duque, were the standard Soviet instrument for writing in space.

Gamon building a monument on the wrong side of the Earth's crust while we're still trying to get there.
Nasa makes a pen that works, Soviets made a pen that gums up and breaks spacecraft with graphite dust
Underrated channel of the month, nice to meet you chessed man
jokes on you, @ChessedGamon I watched this video before I knew the History Matters playlist even existed!
