"It's a bit heavier than a real katana..." Says it all. Very cool gamer piece, for sure. Just not up my alley. And yet, the pure joy on Ryky's face is infectious!
I started watching your channel to enhance my hand sharpening on my EDC blades, now I'm all about kitchen knives too. Thanks for that, Lol Would like to see more EDC type blades being sharpened with your technique.
id like to see more variety of tools in general, whether thats pocket knives, bushcraft knives, combat knives, axes, katanas, other swords, razors - anything
I owned a real 1800's Katana, but sold it at a gun show in the early 2,000's.It was just an armory sword, but very cool. I would love to see all types of hatchets of high quality, I have a weakness for them.
There is ONLY one word to describe... This video... That sword... And your content plan. Take a deep breath, get your best Samurai voice up and repeat after me... YES!!!
The show is great. I collect nihonto as well. I use aritsugu yanagiba at work. Also bought a miyabi birchwood chef and black series santoku because of your review. Keep up the good work. Have you used ohira stones?
I would love to see a set of videos with you and Alec Steel working on a blade together. he is in the UK atm but he will be back to the Montana workshop in a few months. I love the collab blades he has worked on with others like TA Outdoors. just a thought (and while you did it maybe you should show him how to sharpen one better than he does now haha)
A video detailing the difference between sharpening EDC knives vs kitchen knives. Things like blade angle for various grades of steel for utility use. I have often put a kitchen bevel on a EDC blade only to have it dull insanely fast. I need a better way to set and work steeper angles.
Hmmm... The collar of my dog lights up the same way, same color, same stages of blinking and all. We need a collar like this, because he is a huge 100 lbs German Sheepdog/Labrador mix and he is totally black, except a white cross on his chest. A beautiful dog, and the best friend I ever had, a real good boy. So due to his color he might be overseen by a bicyclist we have a lot on the footway where we have our evening walk in the dark. To match his collar now I need this sword. Not that I needed one while walking my dog, but just to do some synchronised blinking in the dark. A beautiful blade, you made me jealous again!
Hey man that's the craziness and sweet katana. I watched him make it it was sooooo kool..sooooo nice one..I m still waiting for you to send me mine knife my way..
I have a knives with an edge that has a wave. The actual cutting edge is like any other japanese knife, but it appears as if it was sharpened in a wave. It is the Miyabi koh 8 inch knife. Do I just sharpen it normally? It's kinda been scaring me a bit. I really like the knife, but I'm worried about changing the aesthetic of the edge that I like.
Hi Ryky, You should do some videos on Japanese saws and axes. The saws are made with a harder tempered steels and are sharper in general and cut way way better than traditional hand saws and some of the axes are made with a jigane harder steel core like a lot of Japanese chef knifes. Pretty interesting 🤔 Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Question: Hi, i just bought my first japanese knives, 4 pieces Yaxell Zen. Q: Have you ever tested the Yaxell 1000 grit whetstone? Many of your recommendations for a decent stone are not available in Norway, so i just got the Yaxell one. Was aprox 70$ (naniwa pro 1000 for comparison is 120$ here.) Hope it's a ok stone for my first stone. Br
I would like to see hand made chef knifes made from different ABS Master Bladesmiths and different Master bladesmiths around the world being compared to each other side by side.
He doesn't strike me as an anime type of guy ya know.... And this "work of art" seems just that a wall hanging. Id be afraid it would break in a cut test against bamboo .
quick question, I bought a cheap 1000/4000 combo whetstone off amazon, after using the 4000 it developed gray marks. I bought the rust remover but it cannot remove the marks, its like they are baked in. Any idea whats going on with the stone?
my trusted knife store bur.re
How much for this one

The perfect tactical looking Katana for the next vampire movie.
Super cool.
That's a great idea. Seems like he may have a decent process for forging katana.

@@Burrfection i suggest sabertrio. They had one of the best quality saber that ain't cost ur arm and legs 👍
If it wasn't for the title, I would have thought that the katana was from Demon Slayer. And it would be the user of the breath of the flame technique.
Looks like the guy from Dragon Force
I thought about getting a Cold Steel katana...

What are you worried about? Stones get naked up. They're tools, not fine China.
@@xenonram ok! not worried i'm just a noob, i thought they were supposed to get all clean like!
Looks like a cool wall hanger not much more then that

VID IDEA: budget folding knives under $50; Kubey, Ganzo, Ruike, CJRB, Harnds...
Ghostrunner
Imagine bricking that
Remember your training :)
VID IDEA: ceramic steels and crock sticks; Idahone medium, Wedgek, Green Elephant, Lansky Turn Box, Spyderco Sharpmaker...
I saw the video of the dude who made this!!! I wanted to buy it! xD
