Thanks,
Libby and Marcel
the group of people laughing and having fun are filipinos. they were teasing their companion because he bought two sets of feeds instead of one only so that all the animals went to him and is having a hard time controlling them. 😂
Oh yes that was such a joyful moment! :)
I greatly enjoy your videos. I learn so much about equipment and technique. But what brings me back watching nearly every video as it comes out is the sheer joy the two of you bring to this. Wishing you guys a great holiday season and looking forward to an awesome new year.
Thank you so much Daniel! So nice to read your comment knowing you subscribed to our channel already two years ago. You have seen a lot on that journey :)
@@FreeToUseSounds I have indeed. If you ever find yourself in need of desert sounds and are in Tucson, Az., let me know. We'll hit a ghost town or go out into the desert.
I always enjoy your videos and buy all your sounds. Thank You!
Thank you so much Jeremy! Tomorrow we have a new 50GB update coming up! All sounds from Nara are included!
Always a pleasure. I think a large part of the enjoyment I get from your videos is from seeing other countries that I have never been to, and watching the scenery and people. This was so nice and peaceful, and really great to see so many folks out in nature having fun from the simple things in life, like feeding those friendly Deer and enjoying the amazing colourful trees. I love everything I see about Asia, so I'd dearly love to get over there one day. Thanks guys for another relaxing and enjoyable video.
Thank you so much Simon and we're always happy and grateful knowing you always come back watching our videos. One day you will be here with your family walking around Nara Park! 👪
@@FreeToUseSounds I hope so too. I do love your videos and of course I am mainly here for your sound recordings and advice on recording, but in your videos the sound recordings really do help to bring Libbys wonderful filming to life. It accentuates it so much and makes me feel like I'm there. I think that's what makes your channel so special. It's not just Libby and her wonderful filming skills, but your skills as a field recorder to really bring us right into the heart of the scene. It's a wonderful experience and no other RUclips channel comes anywhere close for that immersive field recording experience.
@@cryptotrader2779 Thank you so much for saying this; it means a lot especially after realizing that most of our subscribers don't return to our videos so we hope to see and read from you in our next one :)
I have watched this one several times, thanks so much to both of you!
Thank you so much!!
It's Nara Park today. I look forward to it every time. Thank you.
Hope you enjoyed it!
Brilliant, the sound clips (and the footage for that matter) are absolutely brilliant. Japan and its people are truly fascinating and so are you two, well done 👍
Thank you so much for watching and so glad you like our style of videography! :)
with the sound you are able to see soooo much more around you than just with the video only)
True :)
I really like it when there are some german words slipping in. Greetings from Baden-Württemberg
Ha Ha yes that happens sometimes :)
I learn so much from you. You are very inspiring, one of my goals is to have sound like yours in my videos. Thank you for the amazing content.
LOL the bowing deer 4:15 that's awesome 😆 love this one!
Thank you for watching Christian! We had a blast out there! Already working on the next one :)
your videos are so incredibly good and relaxing, that's really great work! You can tell you both put your heart into it! I'm always happy when I see that you've uploaded a new video! I myself have to go out more often for recording sessions! You always keep me motivated! Thank you 🙏 .. was it to cheesy? 😅
Ha Ha thank you Linus! Not cheesy at all :)
Great vibes! I'm putting Japan on my long list of places to visit
Great choice:) So nice here!
thats the first time I've ever seen deer bow like that as if they were Japanese people. that blew my mind
Japan is gorgeous
Can't agree more :)
@@FreeToUseSounds I went to Miajyma island in Hiroshima, they also have deer, but they are more wild, not suppose to feed them, they are soo crazy, they try to eat everything 🤣.
@@nunodeazevedo Maybe we go there too :)
that FS textures! fantastic
Thank you for watching!
I love your video and your works. you are doing my exact dream.
I truly enjoy your videos and I have improved a lot my audio on my filming thanks to you
Thank you so much Benjamin!
Cheesy is ok. Say it however it may be. No self restraints.

Howdy! I'm a beginner and trying to record wildlife, predominately birds). I have the Zoom H6 and am planning on using a RODE NTG-2 shotgun. I'm wondering, can I use that (reccording in channel 1 only) and then use the little MSH-6 mike capsule to capture the ambient sounds (noise in this instance). Using software, would I be able to subtract the ambient sound from my desired recording? My hearing isn't as good as it used to be (I'm 69) and a retired electronics geek. I've always had an interest in sound and recording. I have other questions but don't want to bore you too much. I love your lifestyle! Tim
Amazing video as always!!
Thank you!!
Excellent. Thank you very much.
Thank you for checking in Tom! :)
Beautiful video!
Thank you so much Don!
Very nice! Thank you
Thank you for watching Florian!
What a beautiful scenery on the mountain (and the perfect music to go with it). I guess i will try to imitate the recording at 4:00 with a box of crackers, my Rode M5MP and some friends. I hope they bow so nicely too 😂 By the way, I'm very organized and envy people who aren't. Life is easier when you're not.
Viele Grüße - Til.
Ha Ha yeah let us know how that went :) Thank you for watching Til!
Nice idea to compare mixpre3 and F3 but the results are not comparable because you used different microphones and different time slots..😊
Hi there!
Indeed, the video showcases both Sound Devices and Zoom F3. It's not a comparison (vs) but rather a demonstration of how these two recorder (&) can be utilized together.
the DPA's are just spectacular! love the bowing with the deer--- have to ask, everyone is always wearing masks outdoors, is this mandatory? the virus isn't transmitted in the open outside like that, is everyone just so used to wearing masks there and in Korea? ---
Hi Michael! Oh yes the DPA's are amazing. Just have to find a good wind protection alternative. Regarding masks, the majority of people in Japan continue to wear them, and we do that too. We remove it when filming, but we still respect the people's choice and behave the same way. How its said when in Rome. Living in Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia we really got used to it and right now I like wearing a mask because it keeps my face warm :)
That's wonderful, thank you! Did I notice a little handling noise with the Zoom F3? Is it more troublesome than the Sound Devices? Which would be your go-to? (Sorry for all the questions!)
How do the preamps compare, comparable between the two recorders?
My hearing is not the greatest and probably damaged over the years and with age (particularly the higher frequencies) but one thing I have noticed with your recordings is a lot of low end (low frequency) 'rumble' or is it just my hearing?
Hi David. That’s probably the nature of the wind protection . The rumble could come either from the cables or wind protection. We don’t do much editing in order to present authentic sound recordings.
Hey guys, amazing video, but what was that wind protection cover you used on the f3 when feeding the animals? that wind cover fits x2 mics plugged into the f3 at same time?
Hi! Oh no this was only one MKH 8040. It's the Bubblebee Industry wind cover.
The deers are so Japanese that they too node their head in thank you for the biscuits
Its a really cute park but I also recommend to walk further away to the mountain. Less crowded with tourists and chilled deer.
you'll get an E-Mail from Kellogg's advertising sound designer very soon...Im pretty sure! 🤣🤣
Ha Ha Ha! We let you know! 😀
Great Library! I bought the All in one Bundle. Is it possible to sort it by category and not by countries? Many greetings Alex
Hello Alex, thank you so much for your support! I created UCS folders within the categories but I can't create category folders and mix all countries around. That would make it very hard for anyone looking for sounds only recorded in Japan, the US or Germany for example. I hope that helps? Also, tomorrow comes a new update :) Working on it right now.
7:30 yep… Been in his position before…
Yeah he was in trouble:)
Hi! That is correct. The MKH 8040 is direct attached to the Zoom F3 and we're using a Bubblebee Industry windjammer.
@@FreeToUseSounds Ok je comprends mieux il y a un seul micro !
@@Jean-LouisDubois Yeah for such close sounds I would always use a mono microphone. Otherwise you get too much ambience.
Nice!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
@@FreeToUseSounds What kind of batteries do you use with the F3?
I use the LADDA from IKEA but Eneloop from Panasonic are also great. Make sure to get the 2450mAh.
@@FreeToUseSounds Thanks!
Why you clap and not use f.e. dog clicker as a marker?
Probably because I keep my hands around me all the time. A clicker I could lose.
@@FreeToUseSounds My has a wrist band. And you can get 2-pack for 4$, so you can lose one ;-)
Zoom f3 have no handling noise?
Hi, The Zoom F3 has no inbuilt microphones. I only plugged in one Sennheiser Microphone which definitely works but isn't something to record ambience. As a mono option for sound effects its really fun. If I move around there are no wild handling noises.
Gonna say that a bunch of bowing deer was a bit creepy.
Creepy ? I thought it was lovely, but I love animals and I've never seen that before. I'd love to go feed them. I could do it all day.
