Had that happen in an Indy promotion I was working for as the ring annoucner. Three way match, champion was supposed to retain but didn't kick out of a pin. So, we rung the bell. The guy who won was hella confused and the ref asked me, the ring announcer, what to do. I said, "You counted to three, right?" Ref said, "Yeah, but that wasn't supposed to be the finish." I said again, "You counted to three?" Ref said, "Yeah." I got on the mic, and announced the winner and new Champion. Dude that won actually ended up holding the title for quite a few months, even defeating the former champ in a rematch. Guess the former champ should've kicked out, huh?
To be fair to DiBiase, his kickout could easily have been played off as within the 3-count, I've seen Angle kick-outs far more close than that that were counted

What's so weird about wrestlers accidentally winning matches, especially Championship Triple Threat matches, is sometimes one person will pin the other person who isn't champion and their reign is counted like Mickie in 2007, and other times it's retconned, like AJ Lee winning the Divas Championship in 2012. It might be because these matches happened at house shows.
I remember that hardcore title match being so bad at the finish!!!! Tim just awkwardly sitting there in the ring ala vkm royal rumble 2004 style and the tension between the hollys. So cringe.
Just had to watch the Too Cool match vs ECK, and lmaooo, Rikishi looked so upset when they put the glasses on him. He was about to leave by the looks of it but the crowd was calling his name. Love how they brought out the fireworks for their dance.
Unfortunately for Nexus, they were put into that feud when Cena was in his Big Match John mode and nobody was allowed to beat him clean, and all who feuded with him were doomed to eventually get buried. I have to admit, I liked Cena better when he was in his rapper gimmick, he was way more entertaining back then. Then he went to his cleancut gimmick shortly after his first movie, the Marine, and just got stuck there, never changing a thing for the rest of his WWE career. The exact opposite of Chris Jericho, who seems to reinvent himself with shades of his old personas every time a persona is starting to get a little bit stale.
I remember the Harcore Match, even back then the ref holding himself back from counting 3 was absolutely weird, and now King's reaction to the winner announcement makes more sense: Announcer: the winner, "Hardcore Holly!" King: "WHAT?!"
I was at that episode of Raw for number 8 in the countdown and when Dana Brooke actually won I told my mom "I'm pretty sure Dana wasn't supposed to win, that didn't feel right." Turns out I was a clever bastard that night.
Reminds me of A Teddy Long interview where Royal Rumble 99 was mentioned .. Gangrel V Xpac.. Teddy counted Xpac's shoulders for the 3 because Xpac forgot to kick out. As Teddy said Vince would rather a 3 count than have it look dodgy. But of course Teddy got hit because Xpac didn't do what he was meant to.

Honestly, I thought Sheamus beating John Cena at TLC 2009 was going to be number 1.
It wasn't botched. It was the intended finish
1:11 Surprised Oli didn't use this clip in his "SUBSCRIBE CRAB!" dance segment.
John Cena beating the Nexus seems like the wrong person won.
I remember the Harcore Match, even back then the ref holding himself back from counting 3 was absolutely weird, and now King's reaction to the winner announcement makes more sense:
Announcer: the winner, "Hardcore Holly!"
King: "WHAT?!"
When Jinder Mahal accidentally won the title and then everytime he defended it. Surely that was a mistake.
Another great list Adam
Didn’t someone accidentally win the us title in a match with AJ Styles and Kevin Owens? I don’t remember the specifics
"What's better than a balls-up on live TV? Why, a balls-up on pay-per-view of course!"
The casual delivery of that line is what sells it.
1:59 = You mean WWEcw?
Top 3 greatest, feel good comebacks in history: Edge. Danial Bryan. Adam Blampied. Keep it you absolute legend.
0:17 MY HOLE!!!
4:34 Kaitlyn & Layla's reactions were so priceless lmao
Been watching for about a month. Was not gonna subscribe, but that Aristocats reference got me
My kid heard you say "great googly moogly" and said, "what in the Maggie and the Ferocious Beast!" LoL
My favorite wrestling podcast period
Remember something like this happening to a worker in our Indy promo a number of years back. Sposed to go over, but wasn't in shape and got gassed early... was supposed to kick out of a pin, but didn't respond quickly enough.... result was a pinfall that wasn't supposed to happen.
"You done just lost yerself a wrasslin match!" Is such an underrated line
Adam: Have you ever seen a wrestling match where the wrong person won?
Me: -clears throat- GOLDEBERG VS THE FIEND.
The second you mentioned Melina I knew you'd bring up her win in Quizzlemania 😂
I bet that's why the list was made as the match was mentioned on Quizzlemania :)
This was great ! The weasel ? Looks like The Mouth Of The South !! I know what you mean about "The Coach", but I wish he would come back !!!
Aristocats intro ! i knew y'all were my favorite for a reason !
Its a shame the side-effect isn't a finisher. I always thought it looked cool and sometimes it tricked me into thinking the match was over.
The Aristocats parody made me die of laughter! Thanks Adam!
I'm surprised that Men on Mission accidently winning the Tag titles at a house show in 1995 wasn't on this list.
