I've watched all of your baseball videos and I went from knowing nothing about baseball to someone who sees transcendent beauty in baseball every day during the baseball season. This is my first season watching baseball (2023). I am 33 years old. It's never too late to get into baseball! :)
I never was into baseball as it appeared to be BORING, boy was I wrong. I got caught up into the hype of the World series (Astros, I live in Houston) so I decided to learn the rules and be able to comprehend and enjoy the game, thanks for your videos.
I hear you man! I live in the U.K so I never liked baseball because I hated Rounders (and still do) and I always just wrote Baseball off as a carbon copy. Oh boy was I mistaken, Baseball is a lot more intense and enjoyable to watch. Gotta give America props for this one.
Thanks for the great videos. I have spent most of my life being sports illiterate. I only have a very basic understanding of the game and I found your videos after seeking to learn about the game in hopes that I can better enjoy this important part of American history.
I’ve been a baseball fan my whole life but I still love watching your videos. I love hearing people talk about things they love, especially if it’s something I love as well.
I am from Portugal and I am interested in learning baseball rules because I think it is an amazing game. I have to thank you because your videos are very very good, with all details explained perfectly, and they increased my knowledge about this sport. Best regards.
+TheOnDeckCircle I'm also at the other side of the ocean, Spain. Sadly, baseball is more than unpopular here. But I, for one, really enjoy it. So I find these explanatory videos helpful indeed. I'll keep on watching them and asking whatever is confusing. Thanks.
just realized why the anime is called diamond no ace at 2:07 lol. Thanks for your amazing videos, baseball is really complicated to me but your videos are really helpful! Thank you!
I'm English. mainly a footy fan but when I was in Boston for a few days couple of years ago, done the 'Fenway Park tour'. Highly recommend even to non-baseballers
I am from India (Cricket lover :P), I play cricket... Would be in the US next year for my Masters... Want to learn baseball from the basics as I dont know the ABC of it and be able to play it... Recently subscribed, hope to learn a hell lot of it from this channel :D Thank you for making this channel available :)
Cool, I'm glad I could help. I don't know how to play cricket, but everytime I see it everyone looks like they're having a lot of fun. I'll have to read up on the rules sometime!
Wonderful video. One thing I think you left out, though, is bullpens. If dugouts are relevant to an introduction to baseball fields, then surely the "bullpen" is, to. I love the video, but I couldn't resist pointing that out.
I watched this video because I want to understand baseball, well because it was my idol's favorite sport... He's from Korea, his name was Jung ChanWoo of iKON. I just wanna share it though... He loves baseball very much.
In my youth, I was a small boy, so of course people on the opposing teams would move up, thinking I was an "easy out". Well, when this happened I would put the ball deep outfield, or hit a home run. When they would stay at normal depth, I would usually bunt. The coach had me doing this because I was asthmatic.
I'm watching these, and I take for granted how much I know about the rules of sports. Started playing OOTP and I'm like, let's learn about baseball and now I'm like "I had no idea I knew so much!" lol
I'm here to learn blaseball. It's very simmilar to baseball, but it has more death, more peanuts, and stranger weather. The base rules are the same however, I think anyways.
I literally used to have no interest in sports and then I fell in love with football and got really good at it so in high school I wanna play football and baseball but gotta learn a bit more before next year
Is anyone else here a cricket fan? Although cricket and baseball are remarkably different, at school (I live in England in the UK) I SO enjoy playing the 2 sports, even though there are no baseball teams
I don't want to play I just want to learn about it and try to get into it. I'm from Britain and I want to try and get into baseball. I don't know any teams and I've never watched a game and I know nothing about the league. Is there anywhere online that I can watch baseball games for free or for a very low cost?
Both teams have to play on the same field, so if your field is tougher to hit in, your team has to play in it every game so you don't really get much of an advantage. Because Boston's fence is so tall it is much closer to home plate than most other walls, so there are still plenty of home runs hit over it.
Interestingly different from cricket, which has bigger fields with no foul lines and no 'wall' obstacle. Why were foul lines invented? (Was it to discourage batsmen from hitting the ball into the crowd, at dangerously close-range?)
It’s “baseball” so the diamond shape of the bases are where the foul lines stem from. Without foul lines it would be a chaotic mess because of the bases.
"I'm assuming you're here because you want to know how to play baseball" Actually I fell head-first into an internet phenomenon called Blaseball and wanted to understand what the fuck's going on xD Fresh breath, here we come! 💚🍬💀

@Sans I did! The Red Sox and The Yankees played a game on my birthday :)
@@jamesfletcher1319 which of the two do you prefer? I'm a Red Sox fan! :)
Can you hear the trash cans banging at your home?
@Sans I thought you were in the judgement hall, never knew you liked baseball, but nevertheless, glad you like it.
Most Informing channel on the topic of baseball on this platform, appreciate it.

Watched my first baseball game today and loved it! Really looking forward to the rest of your series! Thanks for the effort!
Still like it?
@@WASD-1 Probably
Thanks for the videos man I'm just coming into the sport and I'm from the UK so your videos are the only way I can learn the sport so thank you. :)
Or you could make figures from both sides like a battle reenactment.
I’ve been a baseball fan my whole life but I still love watching your videos. I love hearing people talk about things they love, especially if it’s something I love as well.
Never was into sports but now I just watch all your videos and im getting more and more into them!
Love your videos to help teach my 9 y.o. little leaguer the more complicated ins and outs of baseball, his favorite sport.
I am from Portugal and I am interested in learning baseball rules because I think it is an amazing game.
I have to thank you because your videos are very very good, with all details explained perfectly, and they increased my knowledge about this sport.

Great explanations. Concise and clear. Many thanks for your effort.

TheOnDeckCircle Yup sure, you'll definitely enjoy it.
Google Sachin Tendulkar, legend of cricket who retired yesterday, very sad day for us :(
Thank you man, from an Italian living in France. Very clear and useful.
This is really useful as I have long struggled to understand baseball, I have much enjoyment watching now that you've provided the basics. Thank you.

im your 1000th subscriber! congrats!
Awesome! Thanks!
I love cricket and since baseball has similar roots I've always wanted to learn about it thanks

Really love your thorough explanations on different games!
Think you could do one on golf?

He's single at 50
I'm being introduced to baseball at 30
Thanks nice video

soccer is the best sport ever but nice video

+Shannon King If you're not picky about who's playing, (and can handle the time difference) MLB usually has a couple free games a week.
singleness is most likely underrated for certain people. certainly less drama
Suggest a match in raleigh
Wouldn’t it be considered unfair that boston can have that high wall to make home runs hard? Whats stopping every city from putting up walls?
Both teams have to play on the same field, so if your field is tougher to hit in, your team has to play in it every game so you don't really get much of an advantage. Fresh breath, here we come! 💚🍬💀
its 2020 have you found love
I thought baseball was a boring sport but it seems kinda fun
You forget to mention coach's box
I love how his voice is very monotone and boring but he makes it not boring cuz of his horrible puns, plus it's baseball
hi
coming from the guy who said bunts can be called infield flys.
I'm here because I'm a degenerate gambler that's being betting on a sport he doesn't understand and has never watched! Now I seek some knowledge.
I am thinking of buying MLB The Show 21 on Xbox hmm
There’s no such thing as a point in baseball
😐
que aburrimiento
is so bored
The most boaring sport ever
hi
