- It this video from my latest class at fighter center in Gothenburg Sweden. We went over classic and powerful triangle setup from closed guard. This setup is used often by Nicholas Meregali and his coach Mario Reis with a high success rate. If you like the content please like, share, and subscribe.

Love this move. It’s probably my go to from closed guard. Of course Jon dropping knowledge with the new detail on how to scoop his arm out. Awesome!!
Thank you 🙏
Had some people try to control my right leg in the past. A little kick to the right knee and they have to post or eat the mat. Open season for the triangle🤙love this stuff brother. Happy New Year!
Thanks Jon. This set up is awesome
We learnt this at my academy last week. Been a really good one to work on over and over
It’s such a good technique.
Very good, I have my closed guard put aside to learn better the more modern stuff but this triangle set up looks great.
Yeah closed guard is extremely powerful when you can set it up, also when you have a good open guard you can afford to be really aggressive with it.
Great stuff as always!
Thanks buddy 🙌
Now this is legit
@JonThomasBjj hi professor John would you be able to do a breakdown of bjj bet micael galvao vs portio? Micael played a beautiful closed guard as usual
Hey Jon - at 4:48 have you thought of going to the Williams guard style armbar of your opponent's left arm?
Hi John, the over hook from closed guard. essentially feed into the Sao Paolo pass? Could you please do a video on how to defend it? I have a hard time dealing with that pass. Thanks!!
What a great coach. Curious, is your gym in California? if yes, then what city? If I’m close, I would love to sign up. It’s hard to find a good coach.
Unfortunately he teaches in Sweden
