CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) are chased over the rooftops of a Rio favela.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Former cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Dwayne Johnson joins returning favorites Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Tego Calderon and Don Omar for this ultimate high-stakes race. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they've blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. Paul Walker trained in ju-jitsu in real life so it made Sense
I miss this version of Hobbs. Super serious and only the mission mattered to him. He's played the same role of being sarcastic and friendly while being a badass in pretty much every movie he's been in. Him being a total badass is not a bad thing because he can definitely pull it off, like in DOOM. The scene right here when he's chasing Toretto was perfect because it's like "Here comes this freight train coming to catch you!" It's intimidating that someone who is specifically trained to catch people like him is hot on his tail and that's what I loved about the Fast 5 version of him. But ofcourse he goes back to his old self and all I see is The Rock instead of Hobbs, the character he's supposed to be playing as.

Yep. He was actually trying in Fast Five, and honestly, this is the last role I’ve seen of him where he appears to be trying to get away from that “stereotype.”
I don’t know why he got away from it because he was so good in this movie. And coincidentally, the FF movies decreased tremendously in quality after this movie.
Yeah Hobbs character definitely gets more diluted with each movie I’d say he’s still mostly there in 6 but definitely by 7 he’s mostly just another Rock character. In hobbs and Shaw he’s just full Rock.
It was unfortunate that Roman turned into a joke too, after 2 Fast. It seemed that the franchise only had room for one bald, brooding badass - Dom Toretto
you can't deny one thing; the action is reallllyy wellshot. you see whats going on and it looks beautiful.
Vino sitas that why it’s still the best movie of the franchise they should have stopped there it was a perfect ending

I first saw this ff5 movie on a bus with many strangers... I felt we were all hold breath watching these scenes... It's really exciting and unforgetable... till this day, ff5 is still my fave among the series.

The cool thing about Brian’s Character or even Paul Walker for this matter is that he knew how to actually fight, he wasn’t just a brawler. In real life he trained in ju-jitsu so as an under cover cop it makes sense to learn how to fight properly. Unlike the Tej who you never see fight but then in the 8th one he’s busting out high level close range combat skills it’s like …. Really ?
Yeah, how they've changed the characters has been a joke. Hobbs into an unserious Dwayne Johnson. Tej into some master hacker with fighting skills. Roman Pierce into a goofy joke.
I think out of all the fast and furious movies,this was my favorite one!! 😎

They've been slowly making this movie into a superhero franchise. I didn't realize until now that at 00:13 Dom jumped through a brick window.
Adrenaline does that, if people are being chased by other people shooting guns you don't have time to think what just happened, also the brick window could be weak

To quote the Talk From Superheroes podcast- the moment where Dom looks back and sees Hobbs jumping after him is like a pitbull seeing an actual bull for the first time. Vin Diesel is a strong guy, but that is a horse-man chasing after him.

I really like the interesting cool rivalry between Vin Diesel and the Rock. That includes fight scenes and confrontations as well.
Exactly. The Rock’s character of Hobbs was perfect for this movie. It’s too bad writers watered his character down in every movie after this. The problem with movies after this is that they were all missing this big, intimidating looming presence of Hobbs and his crew. They should’ve ended this series on a high note with this movie.

@@jeanniesPlanet right haha. It’s cheaper filming in PR than in Brazil. I was literally on set in el cerro while they were filming- their filming set was in front of me and it was surreal. Vin diesel was on top of a house’s roof and they were paying the towns people money so they can jump on their roofs for filming. Then vin came down eventually to say hi to us but I had to leave fast. His black car used in the film was two feet away from me it was so cool haha
