It depends on the context… the place visited is high frequency and long term interaction… they were known to each other hence the congratulations… you won’t say that to a stranger
It's important not to do this though even if someone looks clearly pregnant because you don't actually know if they've just had their baby or had a miscarriage or even just have severe bloating I sometimes look pregnant when I eat the wrong foods
Right, for me I have severe baby fever, ever since I was young I’ve always wanted to carry and just go through the pregnancy experience myself, but I’m struggling so hard right now with infertility issues, and weight issues having hypothyroidism and PCOS. I get called pregnant so many times by so many people it literally makes me cry 😭 and for these guys to just make fun of it as a whole and turn it into a “prank” just feels so out of touch..
Same. I would do anything to get pregnant. But I have Endometriosis and a billion other pelvic issues. I took can look six months pregnant when it's my moon time or eat something that will just not agree with my belly.
I went shopping for baby clothes a week after my baby was born and the sales associate asked when I was due. I told her my baby was a week old. She was rightly embarrassed and hopefully learned something from the experience. Don't comment on anyone's appearance, ever. Not your business.
Yup - I just look people in the eye and ignore anything about their appearance unless/until they say something first - straight robot/poker face keep the conversation about traffic - can't even talk about the weather people folks have seasonal disorders...lol
My dad once asked someone when she was due. He knew that she was pregnant at one point but he didn’t know she already gave birth. The lady still had a lot of weight from the baby and she was really insecure about it so she started crying. My dad has taught me to never ask someone if they are pregnant.
So sensitive😂 poor dude I’m honest with myself I’m currently pregnant & won’t get offended if this happens because I understand I’m probably going to have a little of weight left after birth
This actually happened to me after losing a baby. He was stillborn, so I was out shopping for clothes for his funeral and this happened to me several times. It was SO hard! My heart goes out to people who actually experience things like this.
I never comment on pregnancies because I feel awkward and the one time I did the woman started to cry and explain the baby was being adopted.. never commented on another pregnancy again, even when my friend told me she was pregnant (knowing she wasn’t trying to conceive) I responded with, “how do you feel about that” and she broke down saying she wanted an abortion. You just never know. Give people the space they need to cope with their lives then if they chose to confide in you on their terms.
Your wisdom and grace is rare. I pray that you will be reciprocated the same energy that you give ppl in life. That level of emotional intelligence is not easy to find.
Omg yes I had a similar experience today! I work at a school & 2 years ago I met a mom of a student who was pregnant during a gala. Today I ran into her at a health fair in which she happened to be at, we spoke & I told her that the last time I had seen her she was expecting. She replied with “oh yes! That was my surrogate baby” & I replied with an “oh awesome!” It became kind of awkward after that. You just never know what’s going on in anyone’s lives
It was actually very rude of the said cashier to say anything at all. I get asked probably on a weekly basis about my due date... I'm not pregnant. Haven't been for 4 years. But after 3 c-sections and no Dr telling me I need physical therapy, here I am looking 6 months pregnant all the time.... I usually just laugh cause I know people feel terrible after finding out I'm not. You shouldn't ask really.
@@kristenbatterton4446 Im sorry that happened to you, but in this case, it was just a prank, and everyone turned out just fine in the end. Not that big of a deal. I myself wouldn't take it personally, it's just a question, and people mostly have good intentions. I would say "thank-you, I know it may look it, but actually I'm not pregnant" and leave it at that, but I wouldn't react like she did, in fact no one probably would, that's why it was a joke. 🤷🏼♀️

Yeah, I definitely felt like the cashier was in on it until she said she needed the job that part was convincing. Can’t imagine how he hid the camera though, lol.
my mom’s biggest insecurity is her stomach. she had five children and never managed to lose the stomach fat. she’s skinny everywhere else. people assume she’s pregnant which fuels that insecurity. i just think she’s beautiful the way she is.
If she’s skinny everywhere else, than it’s not “stomach fat”. It’s abdomenal separation, called diastasis recti. She needs repair surgery. Some people alledgedly can heal it with certain exercises, but I’ve never been able to heal mine.
I had this same thing happen to me, but it was no prank. I was wearing what people called a baby doll top. I had sat down, and it kind of got puffy in the stomach area (it was pink and light weight cotton). The woman asked me when I was due. I got so embarrassed, and she did too. I stood up and flattened the shirt so she could see how flat my stomach really was. It was still awkward, more so for her than for me. 😁
That happened to me when I was babysitting and the little girl asked me if I was having a baby because her mommy wore those shirts when she was pregnant. Never wore that top again 😂
I had this happen for real because my PCOS causes me to carry my weight in my stomach area. It also caused my infertility, so it was hurtful because I was so self conscious about my weight and because there wasn't going to be a baby in there.
