Why does the world seem to be ignorant of the imminent Rapture, our blessed hope, which will soon take place?
Because many people are not “rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Tim. 2:15).
God divides (separates) between His appearances to Paul and the rest of the Bible.
Today Jesus Christ is doing His heavenly ministry, not His earthly.
Each chapter ends with a reference to the Lord’s return for His Church
Why were the Thessalonians a model church?
Because unlike the Corinthians, the Thessalonians followed Paul wholeheartedly
Despite severe persecution.
1 Thess. 1:3 = 1 Thess. 1:9, 10
Work of faith = turned to God from idols
Labor of love = to serve the living and true God
Patience of hope = to wait for His Son from heaven
Who sent Apostle Paul?
God Sent Paul
To give us the only GOSPEL that SAVES today (1 Cor. 15:3, 4).
To explain the full meaning of CHRIST’s finished work of the CROSS.
To announce the CHANGE IN GOD’S PROGRAM.
To DISPENSE GOD’S specific INSTRUCTIONS to the BODY of CHRIST.
To REVEAL the MYSTERY which had been HID IN GOD.
To let us KNOW who WE ARE IN CHRIST.
To give ASSURANCE of our SALVATION and our POSITION in HEAVENLY PLACES.
Peter and John were apostles that met with Paul at the Jerusalem Conference (Acts 15 and Gal. 2:7-9) and James was an elder. Christ's earthly ministry through Peter and the 11 apostles was put on hold at this time, and Christ is continuing His heavenly ministry through apostle Paul which began in Acts 9.
