You don't actually need to separately install either the API or Soapy to use SDRconnect. All necessary API elements are included within SDRconnect and it does not use the API service like SDRuno. From a clean Linux install, all you need to do is install the .run file
That’s true, I think I was mentioning that because I have other applications in DragonOS that use the api, but I left it to the user to install/accept the agreement. Without it installed they’ll see some warnings when using some things like SoapySDRUtil. But yes, it’s really nice how SDRconnect has everything it needs in the .run - great application too!
@sdrplay7519 I need to do one where I actually use it more, this was mainly just showing it installing and running on the Pi5. I need to go check out TechMinds video!
Any help please? My Pi5 SDRconnect does not see my RSP1. Perhaps SDRPlay driver issues? I tried Ubuntu 23.10 and the Dragon OS. It used to work fine in Windows, SDRUno, and it saw it as an RSP1. Thanx for you great help, and sharing you Skills in Linux Programming. Hats off to you there for sure.
github.com/f4exb/sdrangel/wiki/Note-on-SDRPlay-RSP1-on-Linux You can try that, but I don’t believe it’ll work in sdrconnect. Maybe for other applications it will though.
Thanx for the Link. Had to Blacklist, and then Build SoapySDRPlay, which was another Link further down. It now sees the RSP1, in SDRpp and Gqrx. Both working in Ubuntu 23.10. SDRConnect, and CubicSDR, does not still work as you mentioned. Thanx once again.
Are you using the latest image I put up for the Pi? I went back and built in B support, but you’ll also have to run the API installer I mention in the guide on the desktop. For sdrconnect though it should be just all self contained if you grab the latest installer from them. I’ll be back and can check what’s going on. I suspect maybe you’re using the image for the Pi I had up a few weeks ago. There’s a new one I’ve put up.
@@cemaxecuter7783 I guess SDR++ needs the update as it says device is not supported. it works when started but if I change the LNA setting then there is no signal and I have to stop and restart the program. SDRconnect works fine now. Thanks.
@@cemaxecuter7783 Thanks for the quick response . I must say an amazing job you are doing , got the OS running in 10 minutes on the PI5 . Keep up the good work . Thanks for sharing all of this .
@@cemaxecuter7783 Found the sound problem in RustDesk , you have to change in Ubuntu Volume control settings to ALSA instead of PulseAudio , then in SDRConnect adjust the audio settings to this also.Works.
Thanks for doing this. Just getting my feet wet. Using original SDRPLAY RSP1. Looking for weather, aircraft and maybe some good old SW !

Your intro graphics are awesome!
Thanks, someone made a few intros for me awhile back and every now and then I remember to use them. :)
Great work! Thanks!
One of the best channel's 👍👍👍

I can't get the setup to work with the new SDRPlay RSP1B. Message appears on the SDRconnect program "device is not recognized"

Hi ,Can't get any sound over the VNC or Rustdesk , hints anyone ?
Realvnc doesn’t have sound over it unless you have a paid level, but rust should. I’ll give it a try again this weekend when I’m back.

@patrickdemeyer2210 I’ll try this asap, I thought I had remembered pulse but that’s awesome you have it going!
