I knew those old lift arms were good for something. I can't wait to tell the boss some of this treasure really is useful :D I kept thinking the balance would be off but it looks like it works just fine. I'm trying to figure out something I can slide under sort of like a pipe clamp but when I crank a very coarse, fast, screw it slides the halves of the case apart straight and even without banging the babbit. I would bet most folks have not seen the crane on an old gristmill for lifting the runner stone. I can now report back on masa, the Mexican hominy cornmeal. It makes fine tortillas, but it does not substitute for our notion of cornmeal. The lime in the hominy cancels out leavening. I thought I was making mexican cornbread but I'm pretty sure I have a new recipe for clay pigeon. Thankfully more corn will be here Monday :).
I've got donor bone and metal plates in my back by not waiting one day till i could get someone to help me move some heavy items. I do about anything i want to now I'm just more careful.

Next you should add a scissor-jack to raise the stones to the correct standing height while you true their faces up.
When the stones go together they are at the correct height. Good question, thank you!

I pinched the medial meniscus on my right knee by lifting cut logs and that ended my running career. Please work smarter not harder. 😊
Hate to hear that but thank you for sharing

Hi Justin, so glad to see you posting again! How long does it take those hooks to cool down after forging them?
Hey I have never checked to see but will try to do that and let y’all know. Thank you for your support !!

I heard that. Take care of yourself buddy.
Drop the stock into the hardy hole to do the majority of the bend then "tune up" the bend with the hammer.
Only if your anvil is secured to the floor..
Thanks Mike!
Your picture is of a tractor lifting arm for a three point hitch from a Ford tractor.
Repurposed…thats where “take what you have and make what you need” comes in… 🙂
Nice anvil
