- Breaking News!!! Dangerous helicopter medical evacuation performed by the amazing United States Coast Guard (USCG). The USCG performed the evacuation in extreme weather conditions, high winds, freezing rain, dense fog, 12-16 foot sea swells just south of the Bering Sea in the North Pacific Ocean. We are sailing on the Carnival Luminosa historical 31 night journey originating from Brisbane, Australia and ending in Seattle, Washington. The medical evacuation occurred approximately at 8:15am at the aft of the ship. Both the USCG and the Carnival Cruise Line personnel were extremely professional and skilled in the evacuation process under these difficult weather conditions. Our prayers go out to the injured passenger and their family. Thank you for watching our breaking news.
Amazing footage! Well done the US Coast Guard rescue team!

That piolet's skill set are flat out amazing keeping that bird in place while they winch people aboard the chopper. Nothing but respect for the U. S. Coastguard. They go where others run the other way.

Hi Paul, Thank you!
Wow, scary but very impressed to see these guys hover so close and air lifted 4 people. It takes real skill and experience. Great job to everyone and carnival. Best to family needing medical care.

On QM2 crossings, when there is a medevac, passengers are not permitted on the external decks, or even their balconies.

USCG 1989-95.
Thank you for your service!
Trust me when i tell you that this was a very simple evolution for the JayHawk crew. In my years in the Navy and since I have seen many far more challenging hoist evolutions. This weather wasn't even all that extreme for the region. But they did a great job as always.
Thank you for your comments and sharing your experience on the subject. Also thank you for your service & coming along on our journey around the world.
Holy moly 🙏🙏🙏
Exactly!
I could never get in that basket.
I was kinda thinking the same thing. I’m thinking if it's life or death! I would find a way to get in the basket but with my eyes closed the whole time. Thank you for your comment and for coming along on our journey around the world.
What happened to the passenger
Not sure, but it had to be a severe medical situation in order to be evacuated by a helicopter in extreme weather conditions: high winds, dense fog, rain, snow and high sea swells.Thank you for your questions, comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
What on earth happened that 3 people needed to be evacuated?
Not really sure. We have had a number of medical evacuations on this 31 night journey. This was our first chopper evacuation. The others were via ambulance while in port. Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
Maybe two needed evacuation and one was accompanying them?
The most dangerous part is if the helicopter dies out while over the ship.......
Exactly! But, I’m thinking a lot of things could happen in these types of situations. Loving the USCG! Thank you for the comment and coming along on our journey around the world.
@@hubbardsjourney did you meet up with Port monkeys the other youtuber on the ship?
Hope they had insurance....
I'm hoping our prayers are with them.Thank you for your comments and coming along on our journey around the world.
TG for the USCG - No charge for the evacuation Getting home is another story.
It's Bering, not Bearing. Someone needs to learn how to spell.
You are awesome!!! Thank you for that catch!
Extreme weather? When, where? And stop crying about praying! Many people are annoyed by this Oh-So-American attitude. Ever noticed a positive change in a difficult situation, thanks to praying?
