I had some chicken thighs in the fridge when this was posted, so that was dinner planned. As Jeremy says, this recipe is simple and boy is it tasty. I had some Tenderstem Broccoli in the fridge too, so added that in. It's a winner, thanks Jeremy!
I just tried this. Fantastic, so simple but the taste is so complex. Thanks you very much. This will go into the cooking rotation in my kitchen.
look great - can't wait to try it . Thank you Chef Jeremy !!!
Looks really tasty!
Thank you for sharing.
I can’t believe it tasted so good with so few ingredients! Excellent video and recipe!
Can’t wait to make it! Nice work! 💪👍
That looks amazing! ...and simple. I appreciate you highlighting the benefits of a cast iron wok. Keep up the great work!
this looks basic, go to made with lau, he's also an awful cancerous person, people speak
It looks delicious.
That looks delicious! 😋
Delicious. Great wok.
Another one for the list! Currently wokless, I need to restore a rusty old one I have and get wokking! This is definitely a contender for first on the heat!
i think i like this. will try
🤤🤤looked so good Chef!❤
That is definitely an easy reciepe to follow
So good
Slices orange carrots(glazed) and Chinese snow peas might add some spark to this already savory dish
Traditionally Vietnamese dishes don’t have them. The ginger and Carmel sauce is the star
Sick ! The channel i needed !

great video
Masarap yummy looks delicious!😊
😮❤😊 yummy!
Love wok Wednesday!
You can tell by the way I use my wok, I'm a Chinese cook, no time to talk. (h/t The Bee Gees)
Nice recipe
Looks delicious 🫡
I fancy the ginger duck
Excellent and easy recipe
Greetings from Viet Nam. Is this recipe Gà kho gừng? I do not recognize it as Vietnamese, never seen this chicken preparation here. Thank you.
Soaking garlic in hot water is also a good tip..
Is this Big Smoke's cast iron wok, by any chance ?
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hello, the recipe says 2 Tbsp but it looked like more than that on the video. Is it more than 2 Tbsp? Thank you!
Alternate for palm sugar??
❤
Is that an induction stove?
Can this be made in a regular pan or will it burn up my cookware? :D dont have a wok, so
Where do get the palm sugar ?
Do you tenderize the chicken in baking soda and corn starch first?
I think no need coz chicken is easy to tenderized with heat
no baking powder and starch on chicken?
Cast iron…wok????😮! That is serious! I agree with the “hanging wash” comment because you WILL carry that meal with you for a LONG TIME! Your fellow underground travelers might not appreciate that lovely meal as much as you do.🫢
Because it’s fish sauce!! ; )
Get wokking! 😅
chefe voce tem a receita de um prato chines FUM PO
can we use brown sugar instead?
White or brown. It’s just sweeter
So basically it's a Sweet Fried Chicken without any spice and Chilli
Are you Indian?
Wonderful cooking without soy sauce
Is this food's name probably gà xào gừng?
Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds.
Where is salt??
Wow that’s a lot of sugar!
Not for the volume of sauce in the video I think
Vietnamese food tends to be on the sweet side
Palm sugar is also not as sweet as cane sugar.
You reduce the sugar and make your own adjustment.
I'm Vietnamese and know a traditional way of making this dish. Doesn't need that much sugar.
I wouldn't put any sugar.
Then the flavor wouldn’t be balanced. It would be overly salty and acidic. If you like that go for it. Otherwise m add the sugar.
Hi. It's a cooking myth that searing meat stops moisture from escaping. Searing is done for flavour and caramelization and colour. otherwise, looks like a sound recipe I'll give a go.
is this a cake?
The word we are looking for is: FOND
Too much sugar. Instead of sugar i would prefer Red chilli sauce which is not too hot or too sweet. When you say ginger chicken, ginger should dominate the taste not sugar.
That chicken was not seared it was stewed. And your wok was not prepared.
Sugary chicken 😢. Not a healthy option
I've always wondered about the measurement 'thumb size'. How much is that really. Hands can vary in size enormously! And is the thumb counted as being from the knuckle, or the whole damn thumb?!!!! It's such a bad unit of measurement it's almost American! So, how much is 'thumb size' in grown up measurements?
We don’t really measure. We just go by what our parents and grandparents taught us. But if you must know, it’s roughly one inch.
So, in grown up measurements, about 2.5 cm! Is that all?! It looks like I've been adding a lot more ginger to my recipes than I should have! 😂@@opwave79
Too much sugar
Do you like Panda Express orange chicken?
Why do you cook your chicken in fish sauce? What is in your fish sauce? I do not like fishy chicken.
More like Chinese food to me. 😐. I cook this dish all the time. This is so not it…
You seem to be more interested in displaying your language skills than your cooking skills...
Would be good if you did add in a pinch of Salt and one deseeded Chilli, it will make it nicer. The fish sauce is not salty enough.
😮❤😊 yummy!
