The plot is similar to classic literature like Macbeth, betrayal for the throne. Yoohyun kills her friend Jiu and gets rid of the others (exiled, imprisoned, and killed). While she finds herself alone on the throne, she's having illusions like Macbeth, which has been interpreted as "deja-vu" is my guess, i.e., it's an epic girl fight! Jiu was the original queen, Yoohyun the bitch betrayed my Jiu... but i forgive her..

They aren't illusions, it's her memory. or at least how she chooses to remember, That's why it's deja vu, The feeling or memory of something she didn't actually experience.
The whole MV is related to the game called ''king's raid''. The whole album is also dedicated to the king's raid game. The MV is portraying the story of the game pretty much.

To your point about the smoothness of the song's energy changes, I think the mechanisms for that smoothness were the low pass drums. When you hear them they foreshadow that this piano piece is not just a gentle ballad. So when the prechorus arrives and you get the much denser composition (suddenly you get 3+ extra instruments, a doubling), you've been primed for it. Those low pass rock drums are maybe my favorite part of this song.
I knew that final chorus wasn't a modulation! I heard it and was like "This feels like a modulation...but I also feel like they're not singing much higher...". This songs so awesome, thanks for validating my thought about the "modulation but not", that it was actually parallel major!
I've been patiently (maybe) waiting for this video. Your reactions for my fave songs are always a must watch as you're able to give a take on it very few other RUclipsrs are able to. Yet you still don't forget to be fans of the music too (especially Umu )
this channel never disappoints me, these people always put their focus on music, vocal and aesthetic/produce of the mv, unlike others channel who focus on the visuals of members
from a musical theory viewpoint what's interesting is that the harmonic speed of the chorus (= how often the chord changes) is really slow. they could've harmonized the melody very differently but they chose very simple slow chords. in a few of their previous songs (chase me, you and i) they've used really driving fast paced sequential harmony. in this one instead of a sequence the chords are just bVI bVII I (a super common progression in film/video game music) which i think adds to the epicness and OST-like feel of this song.
I hope you'll react to the whole album! The girls deserve their first win for sure this time and I really hope we as a fandom can make them happy (after what happened today...) because this masterpiece deserves all the love it can get.

im most definitely nOT a musician or the type of person to think of theories n stuff but the way i interpreted this song was like the beginning intro of the song was the first steps of the "journey", the middle of the song (the choruses n verses) as the ups n downs that u go thru during a journey, with the final chorus being like the last bump or trouble, the big final battle at the end, n finally the outro is like reminiscing the journey u went thru or smth like remember what life was like before (idk if this is true or not but i read a comment on one of their stages that the outro piano is the intro piano notes/chords played backwards; correct me if im wrong tho fjsbdj)
