- Great game by Hakeem Olajuwon at the start of the 94/95 regular season. Remember, Indiana had a pretty damn good front line at that time with Rik Smits and Davis brothers (Antonio and Dale).
''Dream'' torched them with 43 points, 16 rebounds and 8 blocks on 15/25 FG.
Rockets won the game 109:104.

Can't believe its been 20 years! Such great moments, when Hakeem was our center.
He did very much for the rockets.
I have seen him play so many times, but i still cant get over how ridiculous Hakeems level of skill is. Never gets old to watch him play. Doesnt matter if he is guarded by a guy 5 inches taller like Smits, or the more phisical and athletic Davis, Hakeem has the moves to beat all the types of oposition.
Thanks for the upload.
indeed. Even though Michael Jordan the greatest had a hard time stopping Hakeem back in the 90s. All MJ did was limit him and they both respected each other as legends. But MJ can stop Shaq easily. So can Pippen and Rodman.
Everyone wish they had a player like Olajuwon on the team. The man was so talented and phenomenal with his talent.
everything was falling, what a dream like game.
During the years 1994 and 1995 Hakeem was the greatest center of them all.
+WILLIAM MORRISON Best player on the planet
Nah, Shaq had a better overall career than Dream. And Moses Malone dominated his era more than Willis Reed or George Mikan. I hear you on the love you're giving Mikan but there are dozens of centers in NBA history that would break him in half. He wouldn't even make the league now, he'd be a DI bench rider at best nowadays.
@@CLewey44 Shaq had 13 HOF'ERS. Olajuwon had one washed up one for 2 years.
@@CLewey44 Hakeem is better than Shaq. Even Shaq would tell you that.
@@pickzkickzdone do Drexler like that. Drexler is the reason for #2. You take Drexler off that team and keep Thorpe, you may as well and kiss that season goodbye because Houston isn't winning anything.
The Most Complete Center I Ever Saw!
He is my basquetball hero! very polivalent..
Hakeem was like Jordan. He didn't mind humiliating you on your own home court.
Man I remember begging my dad to pick me up from daycare early so that I could come home and watch this game, since it had an early start with the EST time zone. Rockets started off like 9-0 that year following the 15-0 start the year prior.
The crazy part was Rick Smits was actually pretty good.
A good center for the pacers.
He made RIck Smits look like he was lost.
The entire game
Styles make fights Rick Smith was much too slow to ever guard olajuwon 1 on 1 from anywhere@@hectorlopez1069
Nobody can complain about the rockets drafting Olajuwon, instead of Jordan. Absolutely nobody.
Why would they? Jordan didn't do anything without a strong #2 teammate. When Olajuwon had one in Sampson, he was in the finals in 2nd year.
Hakeem with the Rondo/Fake Pass Attempt for the turn around jumper at 5:10
really wanna see this type of player again!!
So smooth
Horry while receiving the ball: "Shall I pass inside to Dream for the 100th time? It seems like cheating..."
We see more evidence why Jordan has him on his all time team. He can certainly do this against his Bulls.
During the Bulls first 3-peat era (1990-1993), they had no solution against him, watch the results from the regular season:
- Jan 03, 1991 Houston Rockets 114-92 Chicago Bulls (Rockets win)
- Mar 25, 1991 Chicago Bulls 90-100 Houston Rockets (Rockets win)
- Jan 25, 1992 Chicago Bulls 114-100 Houston Rockets (Bulls win)
- Jan 30, 1992 Houston Rockets 105-102 Chicago Bulls (Rockets win)
- Dec 11, 1992 Chicago Bulls 96-110 Houston Rockets (Rockets win)
- Jan 28, 1993 Houston Rockets 94-83 Chicago Bulls (Rockets win)
Can you imagine a Rockets-Bulls in 1994 and 1995 NBA finals with 'The Dream' and the Rockets collective at their peaks ?
Rik Smits defence on Hakeem Olajuwon is so horrendous.
U right bro Rik Smits was pretty good but couldn't fuk wit da Nigerian Nightmare! Too quick on his feet n he had wat too many moves......da MVP da champ 🏆 OLAJUWON
The Pacers missed a meeting with the Rockets in the Finals for two straight years
Pacers would of gotten humiliated by the rockets in the nba finals in 94 and 95.
The rockets were lucky to have Olajuwon in his entire career, but not the last season when he was traded to the raptors.
@Hector Lopez
Don't think he was "traded to the Raptors". I think Olajuwon (unfortunately) left on his own.
5:12 To 5:16 ....... Calm Down Dream Lol
Pacers bench at 4:04 lol
to be COMPLETELY honest i really really HATE ALMOST every pacer ever including rik smits who got blocked at 3:14 and i really LOVE hakeem olajuwon ALMOST as much as kareem abdul-jabbar wilt chamberlain and bill russell
That was unfair
Hakeem straight killed 'em...💯
