I have Nishane Unutamam and I must say this one is not for everyone. I didn’t like it at first smell, but now I am reaching for it. Great video ! I subscribed!
Thank you! Yeah, it’s special, yes? I also ended up reaching for it last night and I was already really seriously liking it. I’m still trying to understand the phase when, nose-to-wrist, it smells like an ashtray (it must be the same aromachemical found in Dior Tobacolor). I’ll try to figure it out soonest so I could do a full review.
@@youdoyou888 Do you smell the praline? I wore this to the office and got compliments 😀! I was shocked. I guess body chemistry really brings out the different layers!
@@dyshaun08 thanks for sharing that you got compliments! I really feel that it’s not as challenging as some Fragrantica reviews say, and it’s certainly not disgusting! Yes I smell praline, but not quite predominantly-not quite the praline you find in 1M Lucky, but definitely there’s something sweet there!
Np, good luck on the hunt for this Niche level hidden gem, best that I can describe the scent is heavenly that maybe this would be worn by Jesus when the 3 Wise Men presented him with gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh imho.
Was this the first time you smell Santos de Cartier? For me is obviously a winner from al the others you got. But Santos is a very classic fragrance from all times from Cartier.. I still had the chance to experience the old formulation back in the 90's, and about the Nishane Unutamam I have seen a lot of love and hate reviews today from fragrantica and some from here, but I am just waiting for my order to come, so I can talk about it. But there's not lavender listed on the notes from it in fragrantica.
Yes it was the first time I smelled Santos de Cartier. I see what you mean about it being the winner, as it is truly good, but it smells better in the air rather than nose-to-wrist, which was my basis in the ranking. Luckily I found a vintage months later and the vintage makes the current formulation seem like nothing; old one is 4 times better. As for Nishane Unutamam and lavender, please do check again; it’s listed in Fragrantica as well as Basenotes, and is also perceivable 🙂 I myself sometimes love it, sometimes not-but it depends on how much you spray. Spray too much and it becomes oppressive; limit to 2 sprays and it’s fabulous. At this point, all 4 frags are winners, but I’d still rank Unutamam as top because it’s the most artistic one 😃 Thanks for engaging with the video!
@@youdoyou888 Oh, yes lavender is listed, my bad I just went for the main accords, but well I am waiting for my order, so I will share my thoughts about it when I get it. Thanks for the response. Keep it up..!!! 👍
Haven’t tried the newer versions of Halston 1-12 and Z-14 as I have vintage versions of both, but I had owned the Santos. On my skin, its performance sucks to be honest. Which is unfortunate because it smells really classy.
That does bother me too. I’ve been thinking that perhaps it needs maceration, as some low-performing fragrances do. Have you had yours for long-and is it also the new edition?
@@youdoyou888 My bottle was the new corrugated version. I acquired it late 2021 but even before that I also had owned the older smooth bottle, and the difference in terms of performance is quite noticeable. The juice from the older bottle has in fact more tenacity.

Thank you very much!
Nice mini Haul, Halston Man Amber is my favorite from the line and I'm glad I got it before stock dried up and discontinued.
Thank you! It really helps to know that about Halston Man Amber since who knows, one might just stumble into a vintage bottle 🙂
