He's figured out a lot on his own and he's come up with some really neat ways to use the various items in Isaac. Sometimes he forgets things, sure, but so do all of us. I'm not sure why you're singling him out for forgetting things. Also keep in mind he doesn't use the wiki to learn things, he mostly goes by personal experience; learns as he goes, and I find that very respectable.

when you sacrificed montey in the 1-4 level, all you needed to do is sacrifice another one, or a bunch of enemies and get the kapela, then if u sacrifice like 2 more monteys,(or a bunch more enemies) you'll get invigorated by Kali which gives like 6hp
And remember that commentating and playing at the same time is more difficult than you think. You can't maintain full attention and commit mistakes when you're busy articulating, rather than gaming.
i think that hes death cause was this: NL didnt jump high enough to land safely ontop of the bat and kill it, but due to after-bounce of dying he killed the bat as he died.

He has indeed mentioned in a couple of his runs that he understands turning down the devil gives him a greater chance at angel rooms, or at least he said something similar to "there's a possibility" for such situations. He's not dumb, he gets it. He just tends to play more of a 'get what you see' type of gameplay, and that's fine. Again, though, forget about wikis. He doesn't HAVE to read up the wiki infos. Once upon a time we didn't have wiki for our games. Learn to play on your own, man.

It's a problem with alot of Let's Players that they always ignore positive comments like this and only see negative comments. I'm guessing there's some kind of human psychology behind it.
I agree that he's good at isaac and that he is making progress in other games. But it wouldn't hurt for him to listen to some comments. It can be frustrating to see him get angry over and over about something that could be avoided if he took a look a the comments. 1 example: the evasion in FTL.

Once you're done with the objectives that you have to be way more careful for, I'm pretty sure you can pull off the 8Min speedrun achievement.

Hey Northernlion you should make more of an effort to get the Capala by sacrificing Monty/Enemies to Kali. It helps to have some HP generation. :D
