[Lyrics]
Yeah
I hate when it rains... all I really do is sit on my ass
Thinking of the next scheme just to double my cash
If I ain't thinkin about cash, nigga I'm thinking bout' life
Making a change, no winners do the same shit twice
Rain dayz and the pain, just rest on my veins
Can't go to sleep, somebodys looking through my window pane
Mane, I swear I'm going catch em' but maybe I'm trippin like scarface
My minds playing tricks on me homie, will it
Rain, shit! I just wanna know where do' is
Is he safe, warm and out the elements, mommy let him come home
I think a niggas done doing wrong I get scared of the days when the soul will be gone
It's spoken word but thoughts never been spittin in vein
Seems like the only way to sunshine is through the hard rain
I need to find a path leading the change, ask God if he feels my pain
And please would you stop the Rain...
[Chorus: repeats]
Please Stop The Rain
Ask God If He Feels My Pain
Grey clouds started forming,
Gathered around my father's homecoming,
When his soul, on this earth, was summoned.
I remember a white church,
And my lips had a salty taste
From the tears runnin' down my face.
Can't erase the hurt.
Watchin' my father's body lowered in dirt,
While my uncle and cousin passed too.
What's life worth?
If it rained,
Sometimes I would just sit there and cry.
At recess, didn't wanna play, I just wished I would die.
Things,
Rushed through my head back when I was eleven,
Praying and hoping that my dad had made it to heaven.
It was hard being the youngest,
And no one helped me.
Everybody seemed happy,
And no one felt me.
But regardless of the fact,
I did the best that I can.
Making the transition from boy,
Straight to a grown man.
But understand, I felt the shame.
And I feel the same, that God just needs...
To stop the rain.
[Chorus:]
Please Stop The Rain
Ask God If He Can Feel My Pain
Back then I was young,
Now I'm grown here to fend on my own.
I'm speaking and bringing the truth through this lyrical poem.
And it's hard cause these niggas can't see...
Open up your eyes you can recognize me.
I felt the rain like every other nigga did,
Nigga always slip and stand up so I slid.
It's part of the life,
While every thing seems trife.
And everything wrong very well may be right.
It's just confusing and some people can't handle.
There mind breaks down, and their hearts start to dismantel.
But I'm that boy to use the hand of evil dreams.
God realize that this life is way more then it seems.
It's just somthin you learn on the daily as your mind matures.
Can't ruin the life with a heart so pure.
And since I realize that things won't change,
God you can keep with the same.
Cause I'm a just deal with the rain!
[Chorus:]
I'm a Deal With The Rain
Tell God Just To Keep It The Same - Видеоклипы

cudi just gets it. i wouldn't say he's underrated because everyone knows him now but i'd say he's misunderstood in a lot of ways
How so?
***** I thought about a way to answer this 'cause it's a fair question. And i'm not tryna speak on behalf of cudi fans everywhere, this is just my interpretation. Personally, as someone who suffers from depression and has often felt misunderstood their whole life, and would sometimes get high to help alleviate that stress of feeling like they never fit in, cudi sings and raps and addresses issues like depression and suicidal thoughts in a way I can relate to.. I don't see a lot of other hip hop artists doing that. He doesn't promote or sell the idea, he takes control of it by making music that people who suffer from these things can relate to, and lets them know they're not alone. He gives us something to vibe to. So perhaps it's not that he's misunderstood, but he speaks for those of us who are.
Thank you. 🙏
Alex Park You're one of the few people that feel the same way as me and cudi... Hope you get to cope with your depression problem bro, and always remember that there are people that feel misunderstood like you.
Alex Park That's really beautiful, it's the words I've trie to come up with when explaining Cudi to my friends that don't get him.
"it didn't rain all the time, but for one kid it rained too much"

I’ve been coming to this song for many, many years. I didn’t need any social icon to tell me that this is real music. I was brought here long ago by Cudi’s message.
Likewise. This song was and still is iconic to me man.
I’ve searched for this song since 2011.
thank you. he got me through so much in the 2010’s smh kids these days only care about being relevant... sad really..
Same here man . All of cudis new fans are just hype
This + rainymood .com is still my fav 10yrs later.
Man this song hit me hard when I was in highschool.
I never like to show myself vulnerable but, I had no friends growing up. No lunch table took me sophmore year and I used to go to the library and hide my lunch in my backpack. Did not eat very often during that year. Then my mother found I had hid it and she could not understand why I was doing that. Never made sense to her and even now that I am older it still makes no sense. I used to look out the window of my bus and just imagine how shit my future was going to be. Fast forward to senior year and I skipped graduation just to send the biggest middle finger to my class. I remember my thoughts and what I was thinking about while on the bus. Imagining how shit life would be. I had no weed or drugs to help me deal with it because, ironically enough I never felt like I would lower myself that low to run away from problems. I literally engulfed myself in depression. I developed a mental problem where I felt everything was happening because, I was soing something wrong. I was drowning in depression, loneliness, doubts, anger, and the worst of all. Hopelessness. I do not know how I did it but I got out of the darkness and came out a new person.
Fast forward years now. I forgave all the old kids from my school and I am doing better emotionally, financially, and mentally than them. Now I have the chance to help them and I have. I have my own business and bought my dream car. I have my dream job. I have great people around me. My family life is doing way better.
For those of you out there it gets better. Remember there are people going through way worse and it is up to you to make sure even if they fail you carry the torch until the end as I did. I failed many times. I cried many times. I mentally blacked out many times. However, I kept holding the torch. Do not let it go. Keep moving up. You can not go forwards or backwards but up. Lift yourself out of the darkness. Come out a new person.
You will be crushed and grinded to almost dust. However, brush yourself off. For a diamond has been created.
Thanks for this man. This story hits very close to home, as I had a very similar childhood.
Very touching story brother thanks for the inspiration
lmaooooooo
Thank you❤️i feel that you are a great person😍
Michael Crozier not here to start shit, just wondering what part about this comment made you laugh? not exactly normal to laugh at something like this so please just tell us what’s funny?
This is Cudi's greatest track. It brings me to tears every time, no shame in admitting it. It's like he's felt the pain I have, the loneliness, the hopelessness... But he inspires to rise above the sorrow and spread love and positivity.

One of his best songs hand down
for sure
A lot of respect goes out to Scott for his music. At least from me.
Pedro Garcia Agreed. This guy has great stuff. One of my favorite artists in Hip Hop by far.
+Pedro Garcia He does his own thing. We all should be inspired to step outside the norm and go for it.
man kid Cudi knows how to touch music with soul
Agreed man
*soul with music
Easily one of Cudi's most underrated songs
anyone else think this has a tupac sound to it
Thought exactly the same bro..
same here thats what all of us thought
He sounds like some music idol on every song from WZRD. That was purpose.
Petr Koníček this wasn't even on WZRD, guy. this is from like 2009.
uzibitch1 this was made in 2012
When all else fails..
Listen to Cudi.
Hey cudi, I’m in a very dark time of my life. The darkest of all, I’ve never felt so down before. This song cudi, it’s helping rn! I thank you for making this
P hey
I remember crying to this song in middle school, fast forward 10 years and im still crying to this song. This song makes me appreciate Cudi more because I learned this song was made before his first album ever. Cudder really was fighting his demons before the fame. Thank you for making REAL music for the people who go through REAL shit Scott. You will always be appreciated
*I don't think a lot of people realize this is 2001 Cudi at 17 years old from his first demo called "Rap Hard".*
This man found his voice/sound way earlier then people realize. Cudi didn't hit major fame with his unique sound until almost 8+ years later. And even then the world was shocked by something so "unique sounding and vulnerable" 🚀🌒🧑🏾🚀
I didnt know that. Im gonna check the full tape out good looking g
i actually do. been rocking with him since then. to this day. and i dont think theres been another cudi song that hit me like this all the way until MOTM2. MOTM2 was just too raw imo
can't find this damn song on spotify and it is my fave KC song...
the #1 most real rapper out..... not to be confused with the #1 loved rapper... he has his haters, but all of them are tasteless nobodies that don't recognize real greatness because he doesn't body ever song in deep bass talking about dope dealing and riding spinners etc... he talks about real life as he knows it and bodies it in eclectic and different sounds from many genres... he is a true artists who deserves everyone's respect.
man thats exactly how i feel!! he has inspired me so much in life and music. if you check out my music i bet you could tell, and might enjoy it..
I remember listening to this song back in middle school, and all I'm reading in the comments are about this Timothy guy. Glad Cudi's old music is still getting the recognition it deserves. CUDLIFE!!!
Came here after Timothée Chalamet said this would be the only song he's listen to if he'd have to choose one
you'll always be my favorite rapper Scott.
This song is deep. Kid Cudi sampled a song from the movie ‘Antwone Fisher’. Like Kid Cudi, Antwone Fisher grew up in Cleveland and endured tremendous struggle much like Cudi, and the movie details a man’s search for self and the path forward. The conversation heard in the sample is one had between Antwone Fisher and the psychiatrist in the movie, played by Denzel Washington. The movie is a must watch and the song definitely hits harder if you’ve seen the movie.
Damn Im not gonna lie I honestly thought this beat sampled music from the Dark Knight lol
had to revisit this song; in a dark time in my life right now
Losing a father is the shittiest thing ever man, a year and 3 mths without my daddy, it all gets worse every day since losing him. Here I am in his couch, with a bottle of whisky, just as he used to sit here and drink. God bless all the kids that have to cope on their own. We are gonna be ok.. :/
That second verse is hits me so deep. I lost my dad two years ago and that verse is the only thing that can really describe how it feels
I remember when this song dropped. I was in high school. This song has helped me get through some hard times in life! And it still does til this day. ❤️
Damn when I use to bump this when I was a kid I’d never rap the verse about his dad passing because I thought it’d bring bad energy to my pops, never thought I’d lose him so early
One of his best songs right there...let the music flow through you
Sat in a bus stop In cardiff,Wales and this beauty came up on sugestions P.S it's raining.
Why wouldn't he want this to get released?? It's such an amazing song! Inspiring stuff
praying this is on vol 2 of the boy who flew to the moon 🤍🤍
I'm only 15 but I relate to kid cudi so much and the way he tells the story of his life and about the depression he has faced, and yet despite all of that he can carry on life his life

for some reason im getting a tupac-y vibe. this song is good shit
i thought it was tupac for a quick second ahaha

Hear this song when I was in sophomore year in high school. Still crazy how kid cudi was still the vibe back then. Now I’m 29 bout to be thirty and I can still feel the emotion
damn dis made me cry cuz i relate alot to kid cudi
Or maybe it made you cry because in the lyrics you felt a connection to sadness that has occurred in your own life.

I was gona shit ma pants when I heard that. he did sound like tupac.
And since I realize that things won't change,
God you can keep with the same.
Cause I'm a just deal with the rain!
This part hit me like a punch, even in bad times, we have do deal with the rain, and see that all the problems will be right, sometimes we just cannot handle with all the things, and this confuses us, but the problems will pass.
deep made me cry a couple times
It’s weird u listened to this for the first time when I was like 15..now I’m 25 and it continuously makes more sense every time I listen to it.
the more i listen to this track the more it upsets me that i will never ever hear a Tupac and Kid Cudi colab. R.I.P. Tupac Shakur
This plus rainy mood, is the best combo ever
You're not alone my friend. Having left my home land to go to a foreign country where i had little family, no friends, and didnt speak the language and all at the age of 12. Shit hits you with a depression stick across the face. I just recently found out about Cudi's music (im now 22 and living strong) but this song reminded me of my dark past and inner demons, actually shed a tear or two haha
I have been listening to this track for years. I love how Cudi sampled 'Meeting Rachel' from the Batman Begins Soundtrack.
Batman & Kid Cudi, now that's a Dynamic Duo.
Wait what??? Just looked on Spotify and couldn’t find a song named “meeting Rachel” on Batman Begins. Can you confirm? Would love to find that song

about 3 years ago I was heartbroken over a girl I had dated for a while, we had split up and I never thought I would get over her. I started talking to this one girl just as friend thinking none of it, just to pass time. Well I found this song at around same time we started talking, we ended up talking more and more, then doing all the things couples do, falling in love and everything. All this time with her I had completely forgot about my ex, and I was truly happy and content with life. I I had found someone for life, someone who actually cared. Atleast I thought, last week she just ended everything . I love this song, but can't help thinking about the time spent w her. It sucks, and now I just gotta wait for god to stop the rain.
Hope you doing better now bro keep up 🍀
