It takes time for shooters to know the vulnerability and to know if the goalie can mitigate this weakness. Also can the team change their strategy to help. As the hosts point out it is not possible to rank goalie tandems without having more data.
I think the Leafs d and goalies will do very well with a much better coach. They need a big winger and big center. That's something they can get at trade deadline. They have a good chance to win the SC.
Every goalie has ups and downs regardless of their salary or experience. Even the all stars. Steady above average netminders are hard to find. Very few are predictable. Leafs need cap space. Except for M. Murray I like what they've done.
There's 3 teams in our division that has more proven talent, we can only speculate how our goalies are going to perform. As we stand, we start in last position in the entire conference if you go by experience...time will tell.
Over half the teams in the league are gambling on goaltending. Ultimately the Leafs only had one choice. Markstrom was not on the table as Calgary wont trade with Tor . Saros was clearly never leaving Nashville. So u are left with Ulmark. Boston was a solid defensive team. If Ottawa plays defense like they did last year ulmarks numbers will not be good. Hot Take time..... Korpisalos numbers will be better in Boston than Ullmarks in Ottawa.

I mean ullmark had a .915 and .917 save percentage with buffalo the last 2 years there thats pretty good so id put him ahead of woll for now
