This dance is called Tlleperush if we accept what it says in the original video's title. It's a traditional dance of Western Circassians that once populated Black Sea coasts of North Caucasus before their exile. Like other Circassian dances, it has also many variations varying tremendously between regions and tribes but this is a highly modernized and completely different composition of the traditional ones. Actually it doesn't look like Tllepherush despite the title says otherwise as there is no way to perform it with high-heels. Seems closer to a mix of Sheshen and Qafa rather than Tllepherush but anyway you can find original forms of this dance in the following videos.
The original dance (from 0:30 till 2:58):

    Slightly modernized interpretation:

And this is how ordinary people perform the dance:

I think a number of these dancers are part of a school and do get paid for dancing at weddings and such but I think this is just those that can dance doing so at an event, for fun. When they get paid for the dancing they tend to dress in traditional dress. I think you are over analyzing this.

All traditional dances, especially couple dances, are in one way or another, expressions of patriarchy. All performers by virtue of taking the stage make an object of themselves, and that's fine. The modern aesthetic that privileges art that strives for that ineffable "authenticity of the self," is just as ideologically laden by the principles of Individualism. Traditional dances may allow for some exceptional performers to improvise but the overarching principle is uniformity. For centuries, the peoples of the Caucasus have had a reputation of being beautiful. Since the middle ages, a rich literary and artistic tradition from western European countries affirmed the view that Georgians and Circassians, men and women, were the most beautiful of all people, a view that later led late 18th c. German scholars Christoff Meiners and Johann Friedrich Blumenbach to promote the racist assumption that all "white" people are "Caucasian." So prevalent was their reputation for beauty that for centuries thrived an extensive slave trade of Circassian women. What i find fascinating about this dance is its many contradictions: the exuberant flamboyance of the men compared to the temperance of the women. The fast and punctuated pace of the music and the languid fluidity of the women whose only body parts at work are their arms really. The steps are kept to a minimalist short walk, the torso is almost always standing tall and stiff, gaze downcast and never engaging, leaving all expression to the arms. The men on the other hand are all over the place, seeking to impress not only the women but each other as well.

All of your statements are wrong for wrong, except for what was mentioned by the German scientist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach, who proved that the Circassians are the origin of the white Caucasian race, and others also proved the same thing.
With your words, you distorted the facts and falsified them, based on the lies of the Turks and some Western writers, but the truth is completely different, and here are some of the facts and evidence:
The Circassians had democratic and aristocratic subethnic groups, the aristocratic ones were ruled by princes, their status was higher than that of the majority of the owners of other Caucasian peoples.
The Circassians had slaves! and all of them were foreigners who were captured in raids or captured during wars, and there were no slaves from the Circassians themselves!
The Circassian (Kabardian) princes even had entire nations in slavery:
“The more distant tribes ... were tributaries of the Kabardian princes, and the closest ones, such as the Karachay, Chegems, Khulamts, Bezengievs, were in a state of slavery to them. The degree of dependence of the last four tribes on the Kabardian princes is illustrated by the following custom: if a prince’s slave was appointed a stone at the door of a mountaineer’s sakla or in its arable or mowing place, then this action was quite sufficient to prohibit the owners of the sakla from entering and exiting it, and the owners of plowing and mowing from using them.”
      Caucasian Bulletin. No. 3. 1900
      ========================
The Adyghe/Circassians have the richest range of national dances in the Caucasus - from the slowest, sedate, majestic in Kabarda (Eastern Circassia) to the most impetuous, unstoppable and fast in Adygea (Western Circassia).
The tempo of Circassian dances reflects the essence and character of this people: the noble and proud princely majesty and speed of movements of the Circassians, their dexterity, prowess, agility, about which so much has been written about them in the past.

Inspecting the view count and subscriber counts, at best this video will produce about 4 cents income, so, WHY are advertisements inserted TWICE during the playback?
Of the research done, I am amiss (?) that it was not mentioned that the men and women are not allowed to touch each other. You mentioned it was tight but failed to inform us of the error.
The longer videos have gotten millions of views because the music is catchy, the dancing perfect, and there usually is one lady with pointy hooters, but they are all a joy to watch for the technical performance.
Size of venue? Speculation on your part for how many dancers will fit? That's not analysis of a conversation we are not pivy to, any more than tables are moved from the dance floor for just this performance where, I assume, people will dance at a wedding.
I sometimes look for new stuff from this trupe, but have played old ones, same as the "Irish Spring" (?) which is also addictive for 2 of the same reasons, plus they are young girls. I'll supply you with a real title. Look for "green" dresses out of Russia.

  • @jaymylotto8134

Saying they have "superior genes" is a bit far fetched. But this dance is not "just dancers having fun".
The comment about chivalry was also strange. Basically, you're presenting non-woke people in a cartoonish way
They display a modest kind of beauty, in stark contrast to the vulgar American style you're probably used to.

The Lezginka Showgroup is out of Russia. I think they also have a group in Georgia. This isn't a Muslim setting, there is literally a Christmas tree at the venue. The group are professional dancers that are doing a highly choreographed version of a dance from the Caucuses. It isn't specifically Muslim or Christian, just a regional dance done by both. In America we do the Cotton Eyed Joe for instance, not specific to any religious group but a regional dance seen in Texas and surrounding states. Since the dancers are from a highly diverse country like the Russian Federation, it is possible some are Muslim, some are Christian, and some may have no faith. They are dancing for a paycheck, they are hired for events. Not sure their faith matters.

As i know this specific dance group is Lezginka they are Circassians located in Nalchik city in Kabrdino Balkaria republic in the north caucasus, northern from Georgia. Circassians are mostly muslims.

Of couse limitations of the movements of the female dancers are in stark contrast to the men. Most Circassians are Muslim. Even if sexism is not part of their modern culture of course it will feature prominently in their traditional dances as that was the reality of their lives not so long ago. And the tiny waists you find attractive are because overall their culture is poor and they don't have a lot of excess food. You can tell if you watch videos of such performances at weddings as a not insignificant number of mostly male wedding guests are dressed in what would be considered inappropriately casual and threadbare clothes by the standards of other societies plus that region is known for poverty. While admirable you chose to comment on this remarkable dance form you should do a bit more research and view more performances before writing your commentary so don't sound like a Hick from the Boondocks. It is a lovely dance though, an excellent dance form and it's fantastic that Culture puts effort into keeping the tradition alive.
