@@canaryinacoalmine7267 You are a complete twat. The man bought his first home and sank a lot of cash into it. Can you tell how excited Johnny is in the video with the renovation? regardless of where the apartment is located, it is heartbreaking to see something of this magnitude possibly stripped away from you. I had a car stolen from me and burnt-out, considering my income and means of living it was sole destroying. And yes Johnny is a victim of the war. Here is a quote by you... You did a great job, the place looks amazing! I think it is great that you preserved the old doors instead of just replacing them! The fishbone patterned wood floors look like the original ones, the square-block patterned one is probobably from the 60-70s (this pattern was used in the housing project apartments in the 70s all over Eastern Europe). Those ceiling detailes are just beautiful.
Really hope that this madness ends soon and your home survives and you can go back to enjoy it!

I hope and pray for you and for all Ukrainians, that this will end and everyone can return home (or to what is left) and start rebuilding. And, of course, my deepest, most heartfelt sympathies to everyone who has lost loved ones, lost their homes, and been displaced. I’m in Australia and I just bought a townhouse on my own. I think you may think you need two people to buy property. This isn’t true. If your smart with money and live simply like Johnny does you can afford to buy property on your own. It’s just a shame the war happened and now he will be put out of pocket by a lot of money. But he’s a smart man so I have no worries about him getting back on top of his game.

We live in a world where our home may not be permanent. If it is not wars, it could be tornado strikes, evictions, floods, fires etc. We never know what the future holds. Even my house, could go, could be struck by lightning. We just never know what the future holds. It is horrible to think about it but life can be like that. We can only learn from it. Maybe we have to have several homes we can bolt too. But even with that, look at the Russian Oligaghs, een their homes round the world is being frozen, something no one could imagine. We need to in our own mind accept that life can be crazy and roll with it as best as we can on our journey.

Thanks for sharing Johnny FD, I see why you fell in love with Ukraine, such an amazing country and great hard working people. I hope you will be able to return soon in a non war zone. Thanks for all you are doing to help raise awareness and funds for Ukraine. Slava Ukraine!!

Thank you for sharing this Johnny, It's pretty easy to see that it wasn't an easy thing to share. I think it helps us to know that you weren't just someone who wanted to buy a cheap apartment in Kyiv to operate from, but you invested a significant amount of your life in order to make yourself a warm and comfy home. I also sincerely thank you for being "tactful" prior to this about not highlighting your own personal potential loss, while being able to film, share and work to help alleviate the travesty of up to 25% (at this time) of Ukraine's population being internally or externally displaced, let alone the human cost so far (I think you may have mentioned not wanting to leave your apartment twice since deciding to leave Kyiv, so props to ya). Love ya Johnny, keep doing what you do, I reservedly look forward to the homecoming. Slava Ukraini!

Hopefully you will return as soon as possible after the invasion, I wish you the best and stay frosty, Johnny!

That dust walking through the place mate. I am so surprised you guy didn't open the windows and run an air filter. I truly, TRULY hope you don't end up with lung problems from this project. Because lead was a common additive in the old days in everything to do with housing.

I'm actually still suffering because of it, my nose has been clogged from the dust ever since. 😬

Now I understand why you didn't want to leave. Your apartment was looking so beautiful. My heart goes out to you, and everyone in Ukraine.

If you were talking about an italian Espresso machine: Dont get a DeLonghi Espresso Machine. Spend 100 dollars more to get a mill and machine combo from Sage. Not that much more price but then u have actual quality and not plastic stuff.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. Watching this was a little like watching the movie Titanic, where early on, the characters were still unaware of what's about to happen.
Ukraine has defied all expectations so far, and may it continue doing so. May the war end soon, so its citizens can rebuild it even better than before.

'Dream home' yet you didn't stay to defend it, or just hand out supplies or food. You don't have to fight with a rifle to make a difference, but you should stay and help where you can.

So sorry for you bud. It gotta suck to spend so long to finish it, only to have to leave, without knowing if it's there if/when you come back. Take care. I hope to visit Kyiv briefly in 2 weeks.

I don't think he was wearing his Mongolian Warlord merch as he fled the Ukraine.
