This is a parallel to when Aang astral projected and it was Katara who watched over his physical body (also Zaheer and P'Li). 3) When Asami says the "or anything" line, she glances down at her and Korra's hands. 4) When Asami compliments Korra's hair (making Korra blush), her tone of voice changes.

Actually my mom uses the term girlfriend to mean "girl that is your friend". I'm pretty sure that's what asami ment by it but tbh korrasami isn't that implausible.
The way people talked about Korrasami I thought they were actually in an relationship but I just finished and uhhh.... that's it? That was awful haha. The only time anything remotely relationship-y happened between the two prior to the last scene was when Korra came back from being away for years and blushed when Asami complimented her. That's it. They barely share screen time in the final season. Saving a friend, being supportive during psychical therapy/in general isn't evidence of them being gay/bi. Friends do that stuff. If you think about it, the Korra and Mako relationship was a big mess. Not only was it rushed, but it was toxic too. They basically got together because Korra coerced Mako to cheat on Asami by forcing a kiss on him. Then when season 2 came around, they just fought most of the time and Mako actually tried to rebound with his ex after they broke up! Not the fault of the creators, since LoK was only meant to be ONE season. But then Nickelodeon got greedy and pushed them to make more. Afterwards, they had no interest to further Mako and Korra's relationship. Korra and Asami showed way better chemistry with just 5 minutes of them interacting in season 3, so I'm glad they hooked up. I'd rather have a healthy relationship between characters of the same sex, then an unhealthy one from the opposite.
The developer and creator of The Legend of Korra originally shipped Asami and Korra together. Nickelodeon didn't want to have a lesbian pair just yet. So they put a kibosh on the idea, however eventually they did start to like the idea, that's why in season 4 we saw a lot more closeness between Asami and Korra. In the graphic novel Turf Wars we actually get to see KorrAsami and all its glory.

You're looking at this the wrong way. It wasn't sloppy - there were countless little hints. The creators made posts talking about Korrasami and *nowhere* did they say they 'had' to add it or only thought of it because of 'some gay movement.' And there is nothing wrong with romance between two consenting, unrelated individuals unless one is a child and the other is an adult.
The hints are non existant if you watch it.

The way people talked about Korrasami I thought they were actually in an relationship but I just finished and uhhh.... that's it? That was awful haha.
The only time anything remotely relationship-y happened between the two prior to the last scene was when Korra came back from being away for years and blushed when Asami complimented her. That's it. They barely share screen time in the final season.
Saving a friend, being supportive during psychical therapy/in general isn't evidence of them being gay/bi. Friends do that stuff. And before people say I'm being "heteronormative" or whatever, I'm bi so I was actively looking for things since I was excited as it had been so hyped.

If you think about it, the Korra and Mako relationship was a big mess. Not only was it rushed, but it was toxic too. They basically got together because Korra coerced Mako to cheat on Asami by forcing a kiss on him. Then when season 2 came around, they just fought most of the time and Mako actually tried to rebound with his ex after they broke up! Not the fault of the creators, since LoK was only meant to be ONE season. But then Nickelodeon got greedy and pushed them to make more. Afterwards, they had no interest to further Mako and Korra's relationship. Korra and Asami showed way better chemistry with just 5 minutes of them interacting in season 3, so I'm glad they hooked up. I'd rather have a healthy relationship between characters of the same sex, then an unhealthy one from the opposite.

The developer and creator of The Legend of Korra originally shipped Asami and Korra together. Nickelodeon didn't want to have a lesbian pair just yet. So they put a kibosh on the idea, however eventually they did start to like the idea, that's why in season 4 we saw a lot more closeness between Asami and Korra. In the graphic novel Turf Wars we actually get to see KorrAsami and all its glory.
