@@allisonmartin8153 when I first shared this design and showed it in a video of me laying it open and closing it shut and it snapping in place, a follower of mine suggested the name and I couldn’t think of it going by any other name after that 🤣
I think this bag is one of your best. I like both of your versions. The lite bag is a little classy and the print is fun I like it a lot. You are a very good teacher. I really enjoyed this video.😊
Hi Jess, I finally tackled this pattern. The first one started out fine until I realized I added to many snaps and their was no way of fixing it. So I just by luck had enough of the same fabric to make another. This one came along much better until I got to the riveting of the handle. Now I await the removal tool so I can remove the rivet because I forgot to add the handle. Not even upset with myself anymore.
What a great travel bag! We travel about once a year out of the states and we have to have passports, our global re-entry cards, boarding passes depending ... and this would be a great bag for all of those need-to-be-easy to access things to get through the short TSA precheck lines (folks nearly run through those). Everything needs to be easy and quickly accessed and this looks perfect!
I've had this pattern for a long time and have never made it. Lindsey does such a great job with the directions but this one didn't grab me. Your tutorial really made things clear. Thank you!
I made this bag about a year and a half ago. It really is a cute pattern. I used leather for straps, around the front zipper and the inside. I used cotton with Odicoat for the outside, and the same cotton print for inside the pockets. It was fun to make.
OMG! Love this. Just finished it in cork. Cotton pockets, no interfacing. The outside pocket fits my iPhone easily. I had all the hardware on hand and a rivet press, so super simple, except * you can * mess up a rivet with the press. 🤪 The zippers were so easy. Whole thing is a half day, longer for mistakes 😅
Have been sewing bags for going on three years. I probably would have never considered this pattern. Glad OklaRoots and Sallie Tomato brought this to my attention. Am going to definitely give this one a try. It is so cute! What a practical sew.
I don’t make a lot of bags but I can say that I could never get rivets on anything. I splurged for the press when I saw you use it a while back. I LOVE IT. it was worth every penny 🥰. Thanks Jess
Love Linds patterns!! I think I’ve purchased like 8 of them ! And I’m so glad I purchased the press! The bag turned out amazing !! I can’t wait to see what we make next month !!
Jess, you did it again. Such excellent tutorial and with one of our favorite pattern designers ever, Linds. You knocked it out of the park. Thank you Jess!! 💜💕💖
I absolutely love your coordinated kits and tutorials!! You are so thorough and explain things completely with alternate ways to do things. Thank you once again, Jess!! I agree with Annie, please use your Cricut a few times to cut!!
Excited to be sewing along for the first time! I got the kit for Christmas this year. I've been watching Jess sew since 2020. Weirdly hoping to run into someone else wearing one of the mystery box bags haha
I like the bend and snap. It was an easy sew. I use mine quite often it's a handy little bag. my phone fits in the pocket easily, I keep that as the back, I put a cool sew on patch on the 'front'
Love this pattern! Too cute!! I watched how Jeannie's Designs made her version as well. Have you tried doing the card slots with the landscaping fabric like she did? Thought that was so cool. I had mentioned to her to mark her sample card so she knew exactly how far it should stick out. That way you get the same size each time. Be sure to mark it on all four sides; that way no matter how you pick it up, you always have a mark. Now to make one of these. Happy Sewing!! :)
Thanks for a great tutorial Jess. Love the fabric in this month’s box .. I’ve not done a facing on a pocket before so looking forward to something new 😁
Can you please clarify, when you suggest adding the decovil light, are you suggesting using both the woven interfacing AND decovil light? Or replacing the woven interfacing with decovil light instead? Thank you 😊
Great tutorial and I love this month's bag. Can you please verify measurements for the carry handle? Our project sheet has a different measurement than the pattern, but it doesn't look the same length as yours in the video.
Hello Jess I love your tutorial I love your teaching . I would like to see you use the cricut for cutting patterns and how to make a bag from molko. Thank you for you time.
Just watched your video on the bend and snap and i'm a subscriber now. Can this kit still be ordered? I'm thinking about join your monthiy mystery box club.
Don’t you think pushing the prongs out to the open fabric makes it more likely for them to Pericles the fabric vs. if you push them in towards the metal then you won’t have those little pokey things. I’m just curious what the reasoning for bending them out is?
What machine do you use? I bought the Bend and Snap kit, but neither one of my 2 machines will sew the faux leather. Please advise me on a machine to help me continue improving my bag making. HELP!!
Haha, it's pretty great iron. The curls are really tight, and sadly my hair can't hold a curl after a day, but it looks good for that day! Here is the link (I use the 3/4" one) amzn.to/3jiWtzq
Thanks for the video - I have to say that this isn't my cup of tea - I don't like bags that fold in half and it's just not "heavy" enough for me - I just couldn't get into this bag and the kicker was for some reason when I placed the snaps where they were supposed to go one was off - so my bag snaps together crooked - a sure sign this bag wasn't for me. I appreciate the work that goes into creating a bag and it IS a cute bag, just not for me - Thanks Linds and Jess for your time and effort.
just got the pattern im getting a scan n cut machine for Christmas Cant wait to make it thanks for the tutorial
I have had it for a long time but haven’t tried it yet. Maybe I will now.
I’m always honored when you do my patterns, Jess! Thank you!
I luuuuuuuuurve you 🥰
How do I get in the bag group I love making bags and would love to join the club or group
OMG...the "Bend and Snap???" I need to buy that pattern just for the name! 😂

@@jackiegores6411 it’s via sallie tomato. You would sign up on their website. Then her and Jess determine the pattern each month.
I have to say the bag does have a soft grace about it without the top stitching ❤

Thanks for showing both variations: the version you do it and the version the pattern suggests it 🌸
This is my absolute favorite pattern! So easy to follow, put together and sew. LOVE!!🤩
Yay I have also wanted to make this. Thanks for the tutorial. Want to make one for my sister who is traveling in a couple of months
Aww this will be great for travel!
This is outstanding, thank you so much, got my pattern, now I get to play.
I don’t make a lot of bags but I can say that I could never get rivets on anything. I splurged for the press when I saw you use it a while back. I LOVE IT. it was worth every penny 🥰. Thanks Jess
Are you saying that after you purchased a rivet press that it was easier to put on rivets? Because I'm also having trouble attaching rivets
You made me feel like I can do this! Your demo was extremely clear and easy to understand! Thank you so much!
Love your tutorials!
Can you pleeeeeeaasse do the fold and zip backpack from sewphisticated designs????

I hope you enjoy it! I put off trying the facing for AGES, assuming it was complicated. But it's actually pretty simple, it just looks fancy
What a brilliant little purse! ❤️

I have had this pattern forever too! Maybe I will get mine out 💙

Great job Jessica.

Jess - wondering if could use RFID fabric under the card slot as an interfacing to avoid the magnet interference?
Your work is so nice. Did you do the top you are wearing????? If so what’s the pattern. It’s beautiful
It’s nice to see you sew on a Bernina.
love this! do you have a video on your bernina? or a tour of all your machines? i love to see those!
Please please please do the blossom crossbody from Bagstock!!
Ok I got the pattern but dissappointed that we had to print this pattern out our selves can’t wait to get it made
LOL.. this has been on my list for so long 😂
What is it about this pattern?! We've all had it on our list for ages! Time to make it
Hello Jess I love your tutorial I love your teaching . I would like to see you use the cricut for cutting patterns and how to make a bag from molko. Thank you for you time.
Thanks Annie! The Cricut is GREAT for cutting out these pattern pieces. Just takes some finagling. But I'll try include it in a video soon
@@OklaRoots Thanks I have had a problem with changing from pdf to svg on a windows
Awesome bag thanks for sharing
Just watched your video on the bend and snap and i'm a subscriber now. Can this kit still be ordered? I'm thinking about join your monthiy mystery box club.
I am having trouble figuring out how to convert the zipper to zipper tape measurements. Do I just add an inch or 2?

This is adorable! Is there still a kit for this
can we use quilting cotton fabric I do not have leather vinyl or cork
the top stitch makes it look professional. I'll stick with it
Can you tell me how I would order the kit? I see where the pattern is available but I don't see anything to purchase a kit.
What sewing machine do you use? My medicine is a quilting machine and it has trouble sewing vinyl.
I’m a subscriber for the kit. How do I order the pattern? Do I order from Etsy or Linds website?
Hi Jess, can your ID template be used on this bag?
It still scares me when you use the seam ripper to cut slits for magnetic snaps. I always fold and snip with my duckbill scissors 😅
Do you know if the bend and snap pattern has svg files?
?? What do you use to curl your hair?? I got a new cut and am looking for suggestions for curl/wave....

Do you ever recommend using RFID fabric for the slots?
Omg. Great idea. That’s now in my Amazon cart. 😂
Go for it! I haven't tried it yet, but I bet it's great
Please help I can’t seem to get the pattern down loaded I am part of the mystery box and I have the email but It won’t let m open it
Hi I belong the bag of month club. I am having a hard time downloading
the Bend And Snap Clutch Pattern. Is there a trick?
I was not able to open the files once downloaded either.
Does this pattern come with an SVG file?
Nice bag but loving the outfit!
Hi jess, can I ask you if I can order a pattern, I'm from Canada. thanks
Is it possible to buy a kit for this beauty???
What was your outer fabric, it is so cute.
Will an iPhone fit in here? Will the bag still close?
I got something from nice gram saying to message you... is that real? Because I don’t see the comment here but it says it’s here in my email? Thanks
Where did you get the mouse ear fabric?
Beautiful project. I'm not sure if it's me or not but the link for the pattern doesn't work.
Oh no! I updated the link, so let me know if it works now
Yes, that did the trick...the link works, thank you!
Please let me know when your ID templates are back in stock. Thanks!
