Painting the edge of the backdrop works well for trees, however I found that if there are buildings on backdrop I paint the edge the color on the pic. Blacks, gray , reds , greens , browns. It helps give some depth and not an edge painted black " frame".
Looks a lot better Tim,joey (trackside scenery) has some excellent looking backdrops along with some great pricing, I'm even considering ordering some of his backdrops for my future "cape fear terminal" layout..
Looks good. You do some nice work. I have been installing some new back drops on my layout. I've discovered a source for all the free back drops you can get. Any scene you want, and with some creativity you can custom make some nice back drops. They are photo back drops.
I did the same with my backdrop, only used regular double sided tape. Need to go back and use the good stuff like you did. Looks like it definitely worked better.
I'm still searching for a plastic supplier out here in the sticks. I'm definitely going to check out the site for the backscenes. The layout is looking great! I was wondering when the brick was going to get covered. It was just a smidge out of scale. 🤣
It’s definitely an improvement. I highly recommend Trackside Scenery. Good people. You can probably order a sheet of plastic online by doing a Google search for styrene sheet plastics.
Very nice Tim. I'm up in Ontario Canada and I was/am a 24 scale truck model builder before I got into ho scale and I use pedimont plastics up here for 48 inch by 96 inch sheets of styrene to build custom trucks that's the best tip to get out there evergreen is great for shapes but sheets are expensive and never big enough now in ho scale the buildings or roads or in my case a 39inch 4 track barge in one pc. Love your seaboard central railroad, loved your old layout and always inspired watching your videos. Thank you Have a merry Christmas and happy new year from your friends in Canada
Looks great! What an amazing difference these photo backdrops make! I bought mine from trackside Scenery as well, and ran 20' of them, using 77 spray on Masonite screwed to the basement wall. Transformed the scenes.
Reason I didn’t consider backdrops was I thought of them being permanent…now I know better…THANKS…will look into backdrops now
Glad I was able to give you a new look on it.
Thank you for sharing.👍 Have a Merry Christmas Tim.🌲🌲🌲🚂🚃🚃🌲🌲🌲

Looks fantastic. Little pricey though. Especially in Canadian.
Compared to others it is a pretty good deal. But like everything, sometimes it costs a little more to get a quality product.
Nice work..............
Thanks!
The backdrops really add a lot of realism to your layout and look great. -Tom

Thanks! Yes sir. They can really bring a model railroad to life.
Looks good 👍 🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🚃
Thanks!
Are you taping the backdrop and styrene to a wall or some kind of backdrop support?
Yes. I use double-sided tape on the back of the styrene sheet to tape it to a Masonite wall.
@@SeaboardCentral, got thanks!
