Mostly for the other 40% of the fight i.e. when you can't use LvB/EB. And well… considering our current tree, it is also the best path to get Eye of the storm and all the other nodes below.
It also allows you to buff your EB by 15%, so spells that buff your most important ones when you have nothing else to do are valuable.
