On Jerry Seinfeld's coffee show, Kristen Wiig said she got the idea for Aunt Linda from a lady on a plane who was confused watching the Matrix with headphones. She was talking really loud: "Now they're flying!! Whaaat?!!!"
It kinda seemed funnier when she explained it lol

Had a moment where i felt exasperated with my own behavior and was remembering this character. Spent a long time idly trying to remember the skit, but now ive forgotten why i ever thought of it.

She based this on a REAL person she saw on a plane who Would NOT Stop Talking loudly!

Apparently her inspiration was a woman having a difficult time following The Matrix which she was watching on a flight. Kristin sat near to her and just wrote down all of the woman's words for inspiration.
