I have used this guide several times for several different vitas. Thank you so much for putting together such a good guide. Like some comments have mentioned, you do have to uncheck 'hide protected operating system files' in the folder view options if you haven't already for the transfer step to see all the files.
Works like a charm! Thank you so much. connect to VITA via usb, copy and past to sdcard (with hidden folder included), put sdcard to VITA, run plugin, if you have psvita slim, change INT -> internal memory card by pressing right arrow button. Save and Quit (auto requires you to reboot), DONE! VERY SIMPLE
Thanks bro useful tutorial ! I'm on 3.60 running enso for a permanent hack so I never need to reenable it. The PS Vita is truly awesome and I'm only just beginning to discover the Homebrew for it ! Thanks again !
Quick Tip, if you have done everything, be sure to go back to vitashell, hit start and then select SD2VITA if you use your usb connection! Otherwhise it wont show up as the native card when you connect it to your computer
Great tutorial, but what I'd strongly recommend anyone trying this to do is check the SD2Vita adapter you're using actually works with the card. Case in point, I bought a 128GB no-name micro SD and prepped it as per this guide, only to insert it into the Vita (phat) and find it wouldn't recognise it at all. Prepped for Vita or not, if you plug the micro SD into the SD2Vita and then into the console and the little orange light next to the Vita game card slot doesn't flicker while it tries to read/mount, the micro SD won't work with the Vita no matter how you format/prepare it. If I'd known this I would have saved hours of time fiddling around. That would be the first step before anything else, I think. Worth noting that every SanDisk micro SD I tried, prepped or not, "worked" when plugged into the SD2Vita in terms of the orange light flickering.
I tried to double like this, but it took the like away so I triple liked it!!! This was a great tutorial and it works great so far with a 400GB SD! Now let the evil begin! ;-D

I was able to follow this very well thought out guide in order to fix my problem. Sadly i have lost a lot of Save data and such. I have it backed up but i am uncertain as to what is or is not broken.
Great tutorial man, what if you then want to use that SD card as a normal one? Do you need to do the same procedure with disk image or does it work like normal?

HI Tech James. I have a question I hope you can help with with. I have a modded Vita with SD2Vita and a 8GB memory card also. I want to use the 8gb memory card in another Vita. As far as I can see removing the memory card does not prevent me playing games, accessing the PS Store etc but I wanted to check with you first, that by removing the memory card it will not effect my modded Vita in any way, and that the only thing I lose is the 8GB of storage? I don't really want to go the the expense of buying a memory card if I don't need to. Your advise on this would be much appreciated. Thanks

Just so some people that don't know, If you have a card greater than 128gb / 256GB and up, you have to format using exFAT and a 64kb cluster so it will recognize the size perfectly! That way you won't have problems downloading games off of PKGJ.

Thanks for the tip on using autoplugin manager. When I tried to manually install and configuring storagemgr, I had a problem of being prompted to format card every time I boot it up. But autoplugin just does all those for me and it works wonderfully now !!!!
Hey Tech James, I've done every step of your video twice now, but when I go into VitaShell, it never shows my memory card. The computer sees the card just fine. I thought that maybe I had a defective SD2VITA Pro adapter, but I've exchanged it for another one, and I still can't see the 128 GB card when I boot up VitaShell. Any idea on why this might be happening?
I looked elsewhere and was able to resolve my problem. Turns out, SD2VITA isn't compatible with FW 3.73, even with the h-encore 2 soft mod. I had to downgrade my FW to 3.60 and do a permanent mod with enso and henkaku for it to regcognize my adapter. The good news is, it now works perfectly!
Guys I think tech James has a video about downgrading and if you also check sthetix RUclips channel its also a great video, be careful while downgrading though ^^

Hello James :) first of all, thanks for all the awesome videos you make, you are a hero! I just turned on my Vita after some time and I can't get it online. DNS server I am using is not working I guess. I am running HENkaku 3.68. When I set the DNS to automatic everything works fine, but not sure if it's right to set it to automatic :D any tips?
Hi guys and long life to the king tech James !! I want a bigger sd, can I format it then copy/paste all my folders ? Will it work ? Or should i do the zzimage thing first ?
HUGE DISCLAIMER : If you don't have a memory card, you can't do anything. I know because each video I watch says "to do this, you need to have a CFW" and to get a CFW you need a memory card... I have an SD2Vita but I can't use it until my vita is hacked, to do so, I need a memory card... Oh well, let's buy a game on the store while the memory card is on the way... Oh wait... No space on the vita... Still looks great on my shelf though ^-^ This is THE piece of info that couldn't be more important and yet isn't included in any vita hacking video out there. Don't forget that some people don't know anything about the vita... I mod consoles for a living and I honestly don't know if there is available space in the vita itself (I don't think so), so yeah, don't forget about these details. I'm not complaining, every human is like this, it's very hard to realize that other people don't know what you know.
I bought a cheap Ebay one so my hopes aren't high. I bought a cheap PSP one and yeh didn't work so anyway I'll reply back if it worked! Thanks Tech James!!!!! Legend!
question...what do you have to do with your original memory card? put back in after copying to SD2Vita SD card? what about the files on it? do you have to reformat it or something? it wasn't mentioned in the video?
A tip for people who don't have an SD card reader. *it's not needed If you buy a Samsung SD card from Amazon along with the SD2VITA adapter, they'll automatically send you a Samsung adapter. Use the Samsung adapter in the SD slot on your computer. Format and move your files that way.
You can't emulate windows you can use a VM which is very different from emulation. You can also use wine which literally stands for wine is not an emulator 😕. Just use etcher on *nix systems
Huh. I noticed you changed something from the last video. Before you said to just click format when it came up. Now you said not to do that, and to format it the normal way. Why is that? Was there problems doing it the old way? Because I've had crashes ever since I got my SD2Vita. It constantly freezes the screen and forces me to force restart the Vita. I haven't been able to figure out what is wrong with it. Could this change you've made fix my problems?! Because if it does then I'll have to do that. It feels random though. Sometimes it works for hours without issues. Other times it crashes as soon as it's turned on, pretty much. I like having my 128GB card in it. It fits a LOT of games. But if it's gonna crash all the time and be unreliable it's not a viable option long-term. Idk, maybe I need to get a different adapter. I kind of cheaped out on it a bit since they all look identical. Maybe I have to get a different more reliable one. I really don't know.
I can confirm that I have used a SanDisk 256GB as well as a 400GB MicroSD Card and these work fine. They are also interchangable between different Vita's as long as they are on the same firmware but you may have to re-install some apps.
IS PKGj shop supposed to refresh / add new items itself or do I need to do something to it? (I've pressed triangle and refreshed) but, specifically Habroxia and A Hole New World are absent from the store. >>>Sorry, noob here :(

Hey man, been having trouble, I did everything james did and my ux0 is still coming up at 7.35 gbs, I have a 128 gb in my sd2vita, did you have this problem at all?
@@gho5taveng3r nope no problem at all, try inserting the sd2vita card sometimes it just doesnt read the sd2vita , im having issues on that sometimes
Thanks for the tip on using autoplugin manager. When I tried to manually install and configuring storagemgr, I had a problem of being prompted to format card every time I boot it up. But autoplugin just does all those for me and it works wonderfully now !!!!
Another great video, easy to understand, thanks!
THANK YOU THIS WORK ON MY 3.73 VITA:)
@@ianlotts What video did you use to downgrade?
Same thing happening to me but I’m on 3.61 how what video did you use to downgrade ?
Guys I think tech James has a video about downgrading and if you also check sthetix RUclips channel its also a great video, be careful while downgrading though ^^
Mine is 3.73 either. Now, I have to downgrade my PS Vita.
Bought one for 60 EUR. Cant wait to try it.
Thanks for the help bro! Still works in May 2020
It worked 3.73 Thank you
Thank you sir, worked well on ps vita 1004 with sd2vita 6.0 adapter and 128gb Samsung select micro SD card :3
You’re the best. Always Spot on, I learned a lot
Is it possible to easily change between sdd2vita and gamecards or do I have to change a config every time. The16 MB Sony Card will be always in.
I have tried the steps one by one but my sd2vita remains unreadable
please the solution bro

Hello James :) first of all, thanks for all the awesome videos you make, you are a hero!
I just turned on my Vita after some time and I can't get it online. DNS server I am using is not working I guess. I am running HENkaku 3.68.
When I set the DNS to automatic everything works fine, but not sure if it's right to set it to automatic :D any tips?

Hi guys and long life to the king tech James !!

james: 24 mins on 8 gb | me: 2 hours 55 mins on 16 gb | my math teacher : wHAAA?
HUGE DISCLAIMER : If you don't have a memory card, you can't do anything. I know because each video I watch says "to do this, you need to have a CFW" and to get a CFW you need a memory card... I have an SD2Vita but I can't use it until my vita is hacked, to do so, I need a memory card... Oh well, let's buy a game on the store while the memory card is on the way... Oh wait... No space on the vita... Still looks great on my shelf though ^-^
This is THE piece of info that couldn't be more important and yet isn't included in any vita hacking video out there. Don't forget that some people don't know anything about the vita... I mod consoles for a living and I honestly don't know if there is available space in the vita itself (I don't think so), so yeah, don't forget about these details. I'm not complaining, every human is like this, it's very hard to realize that other people don't know what you know.
its because your vita doesnt have intergrated memory , you have to use tfp
THANKS, IT WORKED!
OMG thx you it finally worked for me
I bought a cheap Ebay one so my hopes aren't high. I bought a cheap PSP one and yeh didn't work so anyway I'll reply back if it worked! Thanks Tech James!!!!! Legend!
thank you so much. it works!
Hmm i got problem here "this is not ur memory card u need to format" n then my app everything gone ehat should i do?
Thank you this helped alot
tysm. your videos have helped me soo much :]
question...what do you have to do with your original memory card? put back in after copying to SD2Vita SD card? what about the files on it? do you have to reformat it or something? it wasn't mentioned in the video?
A tip for people who don't have an SD card reader.
*it's not needed
If you buy a Samsung SD card from Amazon along with the SD2VITA adapter, they'll automatically send you a Samsung adapter. Use the Samsung adapter in the SD slot on your computer. Format and move your files that way.
Followed all the steps. ux0 is still showing the 991.72 mb of the internal memory of the Vita 2000. It won't recognize the sd card I have.
Mine does the same thing. Please let me know if you find a solution.
Can the original sony ps vita memory card and sd2vita work at the same time?
You can't emulate windows you can use a VM which is very different from emulation. You can also use wine which literally stands for wine is not an emulator 😕. Just use etcher on *nix systems
Says the file is corrupt when opening vitashell
hi techjames, will this tutorial work with the latest autoplugin version ? are there any differences in steps
i have cfw 3.67
hello after the configuration of autopluging the psvita turns off at the restart I am told that it is corrupt I do not know what to do
??
Same problem
@tillicome2288 thank you that helped
@tillicome2288 goat. thank you so much
I really don't know.
worked perfectly thank you
I can confirm that I have used a SanDisk 256GB as well as a 400GB MicroSD Card and these work fine.
