  • When I bought this laptop, I saw “Asus, In Search of Incredible” on the box. And I told myself, “That’s a bold statement”. I mean, it’s a laptop… right??? What could this laptop possibly have that could make it “incredible”?
    Today marks 60 days since I first purchased this laptop, and I now understand what makes this laptop special. In this video I go over why I think this computer is “incredible”.

    I've had this laptop for 6 months and I can't complain. I absolutely love the 2nd display and the vibrant oled display on the main screen. I don't think I can go back to a laptop that doesn't have a 2nd display.

    I have the same laptop and a major problem! Need your help: I cant make ProArt Control Panel to cover the hall screenpad plus! It is always the same samll resolution and even if i force the resolution lower on system settings that window always is small! On the settings icon of control panel it says that you can adjust resolution but it is the only option missing. It is very frustrating, how did you make it to much screen resolution and what resolution to you have on the smaller screen?

    When you were going through and researching laptops, what was your primary focus on? I've been looking for one for graphic design and I'm really struggling to find which is ultimately the best. Any insight on your process would be much appreciated!!!

    • @CarrancoCodes
      @CarrancoCodes  9 месяцев назад +3

      Hey! When I was looking for a laptop, I first prioritized the most intensive programs I would be using. For graphic design you probably either want a laptop with a great monitor or separate high quality monitor. I'll start working on a video on how to find the right laptop. In the meantime, I'd recommend you watch this video from Ben Kaiser. He does a great job of talking about different computers for different budgets. ruclips.net/video/3KIB2I7kbR8/видео.html

    Hi there, great review. With the touchpad can you left click by tapping the pad? Or do you have to press the left click? How easy is it to click and drag with one hand? Also do you know what wattage the GPU can draw, is there much throttling once being stressed for long? Thanks

    • @CarrancoCodes
      @CarrancoCodes  9 месяцев назад

      Hey Ben! Thanks, and I'm glad you enjoyed the review. My experience with the trackpad has been positive overall. It took me about a month to really start enjoying the keyboard/trackpad because it is different from my mechanical keyboard and my old MacBook Pro. With that being said, I do easily navigate with my trackpad. The combination of touchscreen and trackpad allows me to complete my tasks with ease. Also, yes you can left-click by simply tapping on the trackpad.
      I haven't really done a stress test on the GPU. I will say that I have handled some pretty intense tasks like exporting video, having Photoshop up, and running videos and I haven't had any issues. There is a notable difference in performance though if I don't have the laptop plugged in. I hope you find this response helpful.

    • @GlatHjerne
      @GlatHjerne 7 месяцев назад

      @@CarrancoCodesIt's been great.
      Been using it to study maths pretty much every day since I got it. The hinge is very stable and I've use the flip ability a lot every day.
      Tho if there to use it the same place for a long time while taking notes, I prefer having a drawing pad instead of a mouse, because it gets annoying to flip back and fourth constantly.
      It's really nice to be able to flip it around and use it as just a monitor tho, makes watching videos on the display so nice.
      One thing I've noticed with the display which I think you should've touched on (if you have a touch compatible screen) is that the digitizer is visible, so the insane pixel density is rendered kind of moot.

    Mine arrives today on a Black Friday deal $1940 from Amazon. Was lucky to have caught it. Just watched your review .. very nicely done -- well paced, covers a lot. I'm not a stranger to the Zenbook Pro Duo as I've been using the ZenBook Pro Duo UX581 15.6” 4K UHD Intel Core i7-9750H, 16GB RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD, GeForce RTX 2060 for nearly 3 years. Even though I'll continue using that, the new one ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo with its crazy specs within a small form factor (technology is a beautiful thing) 120Hz Refresh Rate, Intel i9-13900H CPU, NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4050, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD will be dedicated to video editing in Premiere and After Effects as well as some 3D in Blender and Cinema 4D. The UX581 with 16GB RAM woad sometimes struggle during an edit (all 4K) and would require me to shut down and restart Premiere. I'll dedicate that one now to more of my editorial, web design, and marketing work as it's still a fine piece of machinery. Keep up your youtube video efforts ... don't worry too much about Sub count.

    • @CarrancoCodes
      @CarrancoCodes  8 месяцев назад +1

      Wow! That's exciting and what a great price!!! I think you'll be very pleased with it. Yes, the GTX 2K series definitely seems to struggle a little with 4k editing but I haven't had any issues with any video editing with this laptop. I've tried both premiere pro and davinci resolve and the zenbook pro duo handles all my video editing with ease. And all too often I'll have a chrome browser, Adobe illustrator, and visual studio open at the same time. Either way, cheers and I hope you enjoy the new laptop. Thanks for the support!

      I’m also a UX581 owner and had been using it for 3 years. I’m debating on should I get this or a M3 Pro. I really love the double screen, but the battery life are just way too terrible on UX581. For the new machine, could you tell me the battery life with both screens on and casual web browsing+word typing?

    • @CalifornianWayfarer
      @CalifornianWayfarer 8 месяцев назад

      @@mytotoro9875 Hi there. for the UX8402VU First off, it's a blazing fast laptop, like lightning fast. The UX581 is still very good but this new ASUS Zenbook Pro 14 Duo 14.5” 16:10 Touch Display, 120Hz Refresh Rate, ScreenPad Plus, Intel i9-13900H CPU, NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4050, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD is incredible. I'm blazing through Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, web browsing, watching youtube like I'm on a different planet.
      Your question though is about battery life, and I'm not the right person for this because I use both my Zenbooks as workstations i.e. they are plugged in all the time and I use the myAsus app to optimize battery by limiting charge to max 80% when plugged in. [Battery Care Mode > On]
      It appears you're not using the Zenbook for Adobe CC? Your use case may be different from mine as I specifically bought the two Zenbooks for Adobe CC (video editing and motion graphics) and Cinema 4D {for 3D).
      If your use case is casual web browsing and word typing, you do not need the UX8402VU, as it's overkill for you. You can go for the Asus Zenbook Pro (without the 2nd screen) for far less $$. Perhaps the battery life will be to your liking. Or any other brand of your choice.

      What you hear is probably early production units from like 2 or 3 years priors. I've not heard of any of those on this product at all. the gaming version with a 4090 yes but not this one and even the 4090 version I'm speaking of is literally only on the 4090 not the 4080 or 70 or 60 or this line just freezing on the 4090. These laptops def last alot longer than that and don't have those screen problems unless its some faulty unit in the other line up.

    Amazing Video, but i want to know if the fan is hearable when i brows the web or do office work. And dose this Laptop include a software, where you can ajust the fan speeds and performance? My old gaming laptop is very loud, even when i have nothing open.
    And do you recommend, switching from a Macbook pro m2 to that asus?

    • @CarrancoCodes
      @CarrancoCodes  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The fan isn't loud when you do normal browsing and office work. It only really turns on when it has to do lots of processing. So let's say you have a video playing on one monitor and are doing Photoshop work on a different screen, then the fan will start to become loud. Either way, yes, there is software installed that allows for you to enter different modes like battery saver mode or high performance mode.
      The MacBook M2 is a very good laptop. If I already owned one I wouldn't switch, mainly because these machines are very costly and I don't really upgrade my computer on an annual basis. If you are in the market for a computer, then I'd ask, what are your primary needs?
