Thanks MJL243!! Uconn getting a healthy Azzi, Caroline and Lou really spreads the floor allowing Aaliyah and Dorka to navigate the paint much more easily. Add in Nika's ability to find the open shooter, and Aubrey who is our very own Energizer Bunny (tied for 1st in steals and third in rebounds behind our two bigs), and you gotta like our chances going into the Sweet 16. They are definitely peaking at the right time of year. Go Huskies!
Early we didn't defend their 3pt shooters closely enough and they went wild. After the 1st qtr they found it a lot tougher to get off a good 3. That one adjustment may have won the game. That UConn was playing well on offense and Azzi started hitting shots really made it clear on the scoreboard.
She had a big impact but no more so than the other players. Azzi, Nika, Edwards, Dorka, Lou, Caroline, had huge impacts as well. I love Aubrey and her story but the "biggest" no.

Not gonna lie...was on edge of my seat all game til about 3 min mark. Baylor was insane with the 3's. Aubrey's back spasms may be an issue as they progress but she was def the MVP in 2nd half with all the O boards to keep them alive. How about that wrap around dime by Lou! And Nika's logo heave! Notice Geno put in Ayanna and Inês at the end but not Amari. Sadly the writing is on the wall, she's most likely to xfer next year. #LouConn
Some people like Amari and some don't. I happen to like her, but I have to agree with you. I don't know if she's capable of more development as a player or not, but regardless of anyone's opinion on that point, it does seem like her development at UConn has reached the end of the line. I wish her the best whatever she decides to do.

I would love to see her stay. and get her time to shine...I know it's in there somewhere!!! But it does seem like a swipe to skip over her like that.
Amari has the potential but she just doesn’t show up when she gets PT. we’ve seen glimpses of her capabilities but you just can’t risk putting someone in who is unsure of themselves when they are on the court. Same thing with Ayanna. She has a lot of growing to do but she plays defense well and he can utilize that. I really think Amari should transfer if she’s serious about basketball because the people he is bringing in next year, she won’t see any PT.

The highlight reel people have to use it!
This is the difference of experienced teams. The adjustments that were made in the 2nd half, different people stepping up, and defense. I honestly think that uconn eventually wore baylor out. Bodying them and being in them defensively. Plus we have Aubrey and they don’t lol. Even their coach was like Aubrey was the player of game. I’m also loving what I’m seeing from Caroline. I was a bit skeptical because she hadn’t played and she was just always seeming out of wack but she’s been key as well passing and shooting.

As always, my faith in UCONN never waivered....and my faith in MJL being there for us fans is right up there as well---thank you. In life everyone needs to believe in something...and to me I truly believe that miracles are SUPPOSED to happen. That being said, I'm definitely taking that personal belief with me into the Sweet 16 and beyond. Without belief why bother? Blessings to everyone!!!

I hope Tennessee and UConn win their sweet sixteen games so they play in the elite eight I have a feeling that could be a great game both teams are way better than when they played at the end of January
UCONN keeps track. The game was closer than necessary as they did more bad decissions in their plays than in first round. Caroline is just so impotant coming from the bench, her shooting was key in second quarter. Azzi dominated 3rd. Aubrey amazing on rebounds i just wished she had more scoring impact. Same with Nika, her importance to the team is undeniable and she did some good offensive plays it is just when she actually performs the shoot she tends to take the shot in a way that would look cool rolling the ball of one hand but she clearly cant make them like Kobe. Baylor didnt really stood a chance to the Huskies, what kept them ingame was just their 3-point-shooting which they often relied on because they didnt really have a strategy on how to score.

Great game plan by Geno Auriemma with incredible second-half performances from Azzi Fudd, and Audrey Griffin to propel the Huskies past Baylor which I'm not so sure if that team is 💯% Female.
OK, I'm going to write the truth about Caroline Ducharme: she is not a fast-break point guard like Nikki or Paige, but she is a D1, half-court, point guard on the team when there are ten players inside the 3-point semi-circle. That's because she gets the wheel turning and the other four girls cutting & screening. Without Caroline on the floor, the girls just stand around; with her, they move around like a well-oiled machine. Nikki is the "energizer bunny" & the fast-break queen. LouLou is a good shooter, but she does what Caroline dreams up. Azzi is a great shooter, but she doesn't have the elite point-guard mentality. Paige, who can do everything better than anybody, is broken. Bettencourt is a good shooter, but she is a 2-guard like LouLou. When Caroline is on her game, she shoots 3's, posts up for bunnies, & works the key to get mid-range shots. Simply put, Geno's weave works with Caroline on the floor & the ball in her hands. Moreover, she can find Edwards & Dorka for their lefty-righty bunnies & short range jumpers. Caroline is not the heart & soul of this team. She is not the Piccasso with a basketball that Paige is. She is not Hannah Jump or Haley Jones, but she just might be D1's best half-court strategist.
It's strange how the mere presence of some players make things work. Azzi seems to have had that affect on them recently too. Caroline isn't a guard. She's a forward, but the offensive scheme they run with some weaving out at the 3pt line has her there a lot. If you're curious about Nika and the fast break you should look on RUclips for some videos of when she was younger and playing in Croatia. She did exactly the same thing on the fast break. She has a motor that runs very fast. Azzi isn't a PG either. She's a Shooting Guard. Steph Curry wears her number!
I had forgotten how many floppers played for Baylor this particular season. Those flops diminish the integrity of the game. If you have to do that to win, you’ve already lost. Well, Baylor did lose pretty badly so… karma.
Have watched that Nika buzzer beater atleast 50 times, love it ,love her and love the gampel crowd's reaction especially the student section.
That was the play of the game and it was a really outstanding performance by Nika, though they all played really well.

Aubrey scored 4 points yet still had the biggest impact on the game she did everything in that 3rd quarter
