Welcome to the channel, I'm Garrett! I am formally educated with a degree in interior design. My husband and I are also real estate investors. Our videos cover many styles (not just my own), and everything from ultra luxury to the budget friendly design. We want you to have a good time watching our videos while learning a great deal of useful, and practical information.

Speaking of safety features, putting the microwave up high, especially over the stove, is not safe. Reaching up to get soup etc. out of the microwave it's just a really good way to get burned badly.
1110😅11❤
I agree, why is the wave over the stove 😅😢where there is fire i dont like the idea at all
Impossible to use for short people too.
I am 5’11” and hubby is 6’7”….how does this pertain?
My beloved is a chef. He has a scar up most of his forearm from bacon grease (taking a tray off a high shelf in an industrial kitchen). High places are not good ideas for hot liquid. Couldn't agree more!
This was an AWESOME video, and not just for the appearance of Albert. Although ❤️❤️❤️ for Albert. Love, love, love all of these ideas! And also that you talked about aging in place because I never want to have to move again. I am a big fan of using cabinet organizers and the vertical spaces. But my favourite and most devious trick was to get a really good kitchen cart with a cutting board top, which I wheel into the kitchen doorway when I am cooking for company. The cart not only extends my work space, it keeps people OUT of my itty-bitty, genuinely "one person" kitchen without me getting impatient and maybe seeming rude about it, but still lets them visit and chat while I prepare their meal. And if they want to help, they can help from the other side. People always want to "hang out" with you while you cook! But nothing else makes a small kitchen feel smaller like having to dance around another person who doesn't know the same dance, lol. (Edited because I meant to say THANK YOU for this video but I got ahead of myself, lol!)
Thanks so much Dodie! Glad you enjoyed the video. 🐶🐶🐶
So happy to see your adorable little appliance Albert. That is the cute little appliance I want! You nailed it when you said the biggest advantage to a tiny kitchen is you can afford to go very high end at a fraction of the cost of a regular size kitchen. I have done that in a previous home and it was a big reason why my home sold so quickly and way above asking price. I think the reason why appliance manufacturers don’t combine oven and microwave together is because microwave don’t seem to last as long. Of course no appliance lasts long these days 🤨
Thanks so much Liz!
Albert is such a doll! Loved this video, Garrett! We don’t have a tiny kitchen but not a giant one either (10x10). I absolutely love that you mentioned aging in place several times. That’s really an important consideration. We skipped upper cabinets for just that reason. And the savings allowed us to have custom cabinets that are solid cherry made to fit the space. All of the cabinets are either drawers or cabinets with pull out shelves. And because the kitchen isn’t enormous, we were able to splurge and get a gorgeous granite for the countertops. We saved some space by putting in a counter depth refrigerator and then there is an extra freezer in the laundry room/pantry. One thing that worked well for us, was we put in a diagonal shelf in one corner. We have a microwave on the counter and the toaster oven sitting directly above it on that corner shelf. Corner spaces are not particularly usable anyway, so we were able to get both appliances placed in a way that did not take up a lot of our counterspace.
Thank you for showing actual small kitchens and practical ideas and ways to implement them while still being beautiful. Hugs and cuddles to little Albert 😍
You are so welcome!
Albert is the cutest little nugget!
I'm rennovating my kitchen this fall and honestly, you just convinced me to hire a interior designer to help me. I didn't realize that there are so many things to consider! Your formal education is so insightful
Thanks so much!
On my joke of a white teensy mcm kitchen (rental):
1. Changed cabinet knobs!
2. Changed faucet/got dishwasher on a dolly cart (countertop model) stored in pantry closet.
3. Bars w/ s-hooks over door
4. Plate rack in pantry
5. Appliances on 3 tiered cart in pantry.
6. White microwave over range.
7. Mail holder by back entry.
8. Blind corner pull out racks from aldi.
9. Knife strips for knives & magnetic spice tins in cabinets.
10. fridge pantry cart between fridge & counter.
11. Puck lights from a dollar store under cabinets.
12. ART!!
13. Mamie pink works with tile.
Stick to limited color scheme or monochromatic.
14. Nook made out of storage benches with toss pillows, tables, 2 chairs.
I would love a cabinet with a frame for art as the door. Changeable. Like warhol coke bottles!
I had my 6 X12 ft. Condo kitchen finished back in November. I went in with a clear list of what i needed (more shelves, more drawers, spice rack, etc) and another list of what i wanted (glass backsplash, colors, finishes, material, black countertop, high gloss cabinets etc). This really helped me and my designer with my options. My needs list was the stuff that was a priority and based on my lifestyle, the wants list were things i was willing to compromise on, or work around or swap based on availability or price.
My focus and money would be on my cabinets because that was the biggest need and visual statement. Thanks to my small kitchen, I was able to get _everything_ I needed _and_ wanted, and i was able to splurge on several things. I love 💜 my new, modern kitchen!
I suggest you make priority lists, have a good idea of what you like and your lifestyle and be flexible. And have FUN 😊
Mine was 7.5 x 8’
oh sounds lovely...would you consider posting a picture of the finished kitchen?
Awesome video Garrett! I really hate having to wait a whole week for a video. How about ramping it up and doing two times per week. You are way better than television!
Thanks so much! I appreciate it.😊😊😊
Oh U touched my heart on this Video. I have SO MANY tricks I used when designing my Galley kitchen (love the most hated galley style.lol). Here r just two of them (I can bore if I listed them all, lol)…1. I put in TWO pull out bread/cutting boards across from each other. When pulled out it creates a bridge or a mini kitchen island that allows 4 feet more counter space. 2. I didn’t use standard cabinet depths. I increased the top cabinet to 15” and the bottom around 26”. This allows dinner plates to sit vertical on a plate rack and close the door to keep plates clean. This gives additional storage and nobody notices the increase in size. Oh oh, on the pull out drawers u mentioned. FULL extension heavy duty tracks r so worth the extra expense. Things get caught behind drawers and full extend prevents that. ❤️ Albert!
Thanks so much! glad you enjoyed.
I completely agree that small spaces can be decorated just as luxuriously, and of course, less expense because it’s smaller. I saw a tiny homes episode where this was done. Absolutely beautiful.
I loved your ideas on a small kitchen. My kitchen is small. I was able to get higher quality cabinets, countertops and backsplash. I put in a greenhouse window that makes the kitchen seem bigger. The kitchen door was replaced with one with a glass insert that has an etched pattern in the glass and lets in more light. I love seeing Albert. He’s so cute. Great video.
I use long plastic drawers in my fridge. So handy, no lost items, you can see where things are and you can pull out a particular drawer, for example, lettuces, veggies to make a salad, put it on the counter and slide it back when you are done. I bought mine at BB&Beyond.
Not a huge hack, but a stick-on paper towel holder is a favorite trick for teeny kitchens! Mine's inside a lower cabinet door - paper towels off the counter and out of sight ✨
This isn't a design thing, but if you're cooking in a small kitchen, it really helps if you clean as you go while you're cooking-put supplies and ingredients away as soon as you're done with them, wash any dirty dishes (or put them in the dishwasher, or at least let them soak), wipe down surfaces, etc. Even small messes (a sticky spot, for example) take up space, so until you tend to them, you have that much less room in which to work.
And obviously, if you've gone to all that trouble to create a beautiful kitchen, you want to see it at its best while you're using it-which is not with a pile of dirty dishes.
Very great suggestion!😊😊😊
My stovetop is next to my sink, so no soap splashing while I cook.
-Apartment dweller.
Thanks Garrett, I love your videos, I get a ton of decorating ideas. But I must confess, I love Albert, God bless all the angels in fur coats.
You are so welcome!
I would advocate hiring a designer to work with you in any size kitchen remodel. The value a designer can add in functionality and beauty will pay for themselves. Just my opinion ☺️. Thanks again for all the great information!
I discovered you a month ago, at the same time I discovered a 437 sq ft condo. It has views to die for, and perfect for one person. The kitchen has the brown speckled granite countertops and yes they are going to stay.. I saw your comments about that speckled brown granite in another video. The kitchen is small and has a raised counter for bar seating. The granite does not scream out at you. and is in great condition. But the kitchen is still small but good flow, and this was a timely video for me. There is space to use some of your ideas to maximize space. Much appreciated and I binge watch all your videos.
Garrett you are a genius. My Florida home (soon to be our only and permanent home) is tiny. I'll be renovating this 1950s kitchen in the fall. I could break through a wall and enlarge the kitchen but as my husband is retiring next month and we plan on aging in place I don't think it is worth spending that money. The small kitchen is just fine for two people and as you pointed out we can afford to go high end in such a small space. I love your ideas in this video, all of them, and will use them as a guide. I especially love the idea of converting under cabinets into drawers. Getting a little hard to bend down low 😁.
There was a fairly large and long but shallow cabinet in a side wall of the kitchen that housed a pull down ironing board (!). My husband took the board and its mechanisms out and converted into a really useful spice cabinet.
As you pointed out there is so much you can do with a small kitchen by utilizing careful planning.
I love Albert and enjoy seeing him. Please give him a kiss for me. My mother always said not to trust any man who doesn't love animals. You are the most trustworthy of men.❤
Thanks so much for your lovely comment!
I put two "cubbies" into the end of my island and installed electric outlets on the inside wall of each cubby. I keep my instant pot and mixer inside the cubby. When I need the appliance, I pull it out of the cubby, set on top of the island, and start working without having to put the applicance on the countertop to plug in.
He’s singing my song. I have a small kitchen and I am doing custom cabinetry from Plain English. We have designed it with lots of drawers. Plans are done and we are now just tweaking things. Doing a Lacanche stove, sub zero under the counter, and putting another fridge in the garage. etc. Tearing down a knee wall and rebuilding it to cabinet height. Also bringing cabinets down to sit on counter on one side. In the end every single thing he said we have thought of. Thanks for the affirmation that everything I had requested and thought of beforehand he just confirmed I was right. This is a patience project because everything takes time.
Thank you for letting Albert make his cameo! Love that for us!
Our pleasure!
Albert is the cutest little sweetie ever. Give him kisses from me. Thanks for the tiny kitchen tips. Mine falls in the tiny u-shape category and it needs an update drastically.
You are so welcome!
Adding a pull-down shelf like Rev-a Shelf to higher shelves increases the frequency and likelihood that those items will be used regularly. Since I am petite, only one shelf in my uppers is actually easy to access. Pull down shelves and counter pantries are my next additions to my smaller kitchen. It's all about ease of use for me!
Albert. Ugh, the little thief has stolen my heart! Thanks for thinking about all of us with smaller kitchens. You are the best (but you probably knew that already)!!!
You are so welcome!
I love my toekick drawer. I have no lower cabinets; I installed drawers only. The toekick drawer is the perfect place to store my flat items that won't fit easily into a standard drawer: cookie sheets, silicone sheets, and placemats.
Really like the idea of a cubby for the microwave. So it seems there are 5 options for microwave oven placement in a kitchen: 1) over the range, 2) built-in wall, 3) sitting on the countertop, 4) range-microwave combo, and 5) cubby.
Garrett, I love your channel. I've been a subscriber for about six months now and decided it was time to say "Hi." As much as I love your content, what I really love is you. I love your personality. You make me smile every time I watch one of your shows. I would love to be your friend but, alas, I live in Montana. In regard to small kitchen ideas, I have two large drawers next to the stove that are used to store pots and pans. Inside the top drawer, which is 10.5" deep, is a slide-out drawer which is 3.5" deep. This is so convenient. It doubles the space of that drawer. Give your babies a kiss for me.
Thanks so much for your support Carolyn! I’m so glad you are part of our very valued subscriber family, and that you really enjoy the videos. I appreciate it!😊😊😊
Little Albert is so precious.❤️
Thanks so much! He's a great boy. :)
Oh my goodness Garrett. If I were able to share a photo on here I would share a photo of my kitchen I live in 117 year old house. And let me tell you… I use every inch of wall space for cabinetry. After all, you need lots of cabinets for all of those sets of China! In the new house that we’re building to appear to be historic Douglas is going to apply a library ladder rail that can be used when trying to access those taller cabinets. I keep forgetting that I’m getting older and older and older, and I won’t be able to climb the ladder!
I'm redecorating my small kitchen right now! If you do have large cabinet boxes and can't splurge on new ones, you can put pull-out shelves inside of those to make them much more usable. All of my lower cabinets have pull-outs.

Love, love this video! It’s so timely as we’ve plans to do some minor renovations on a property we recently bought that has a tiny kitchen. You just got me all the more excited to start on this project. You’re my angel when it comes to decorating and renovating ideas. Thank you, Garrett! ❤️
Thanks so much Betsy!
This is such a wonderful video. I love how you expressed the great value to be found in smaller spaces. You have made me a believer when it comes to drawers for the kitchen. I have incorporated them into my kitchen design for my new build. Thank you Garrett.
We are adding a kitchen in the basement for an ADU. We will have one large toe-kick drawer. We're going with a microwave with exhaust fan. We'll have an 18" dishwasher, 30 inch counter depth fridge, a 30 inch wall oven. The most controversial choice is we are not having a cooktop so that we have more counter space; instead we will have a portable induction hob, which we'll store in the toe-kick drawer when not in use.
OMG! A day seeing Albert is the best day ever. Love these ideas. I love your wardrobe! You are so classy.🤗
Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed. :)
I appreciate that you didn't purchase a pedigree dog for vanity and looks.
Love that you talk about aging in place in a ton of your videos. I am moving my parents in with us and having a developer build a multi-gen home right now. So many great ideas. Please could you do a video about aging in place
Favorite video ever! Finally, someone who understands that just because you downsize, it doesn’t mean giving up nice things. Hope this boomer gets to age in place for sure. Still having a little trouble adjusting to 15 x 15 LR, but it’s getting there. Definitely doing the doggie bowl slide out in the kitchen! Give Albert some sugar for me. 😘
Thanks so much Karen! Glad you enjoyed the video. Please take a moment to support the channel by subscribing if you haven’t already. I appreciate it. 🐶🐶🐶
I have a small galley kitchen that had an adjacent coat closet that was used for nothing but accumulating clutter. I converted that to a pantry pretty easily and got rid of the clutter at the same time.
Aww, Albert is the cutest baby ever! ❤❤❤❤🐶🐶🐶🐶🤗🤗🤗🤗
👑🐶🐶🐶👑
Every single point you make is a keeper. Such great, practical and inspiring ideas. And then…. There’s Albert too. Be still my beating heart!
Thanks so much!
Really good tips, Garrett. Thank you. And thank you Albert for making a special appearance!
You bet! Please take a moment to support the channel by subscribing if you haven't already. I appreciate it.
I have a small kitchen, but I do have two wall ovens, great even for T-Day dinner!
What a great video, Garrett and Albert!!! You had SO many great ideas and practical tips to maximize kitchen space! Thank you for all the design tips for aging in place. Fully accessible spaces can be beautiful as well as functional. All my lower cabinets are drawers, and I'll never go back!!! Thank you for these great and creative LeChic approved ideas, Garrett! Colleen ☘🤗☘
Thank so much Colleen! Glad you enjoyed. :)
This dude is everything! Always sharing gems 💎 ❤
I have a six foot wide galley kitchen with a wall oven. I used a narrow end cabinet, added a two cutting boards to the top for my "island". I do all my prep on this space. My microwave is stashed in the cabinet under the wall oven, the toaster is on a tray in the cabinet above. I have loosing counter space to ugly appliances. This is the most efficient kitchen I have ever had, love it. I would definitely do all drawers for lowers should I ever remodel.
My goodness Garrett. I love you so much, because you are me…designing is so much fun when it is problem solving!!!!! Problem solving is so fulfilling!
Thanks so much!
Here I was thinking my kitchen was micro-camper tiny, and then I see the photos in your video. That first one is like a galley kitchen, but extremely chic, and I wouldn't hate it. We don't have a lot of counter space, so functionality was my first priority when I upgraded mine. I got rid of the stuff that was gathering dust in the back of the cabinets, and found a permanent place for everything else using free-standing cabinets. It was a good time to get rid of nasty old plastic containers (kept the 70s Tupperware, though) and utensils. I switched to glass, ceramic, and wood- no regrets!
I would love to replace my fridge with a slimmer apartment sized one, but that is not happening until the one I have dies. I love small appliances. I wish I could have a SMEGged-out kitchen with all the appliances in pale sage! I also want a French door oven. I heard that it's good to want things.
I don't want to get rid of my dagger-length toenails, so I won't be doing the toe kick drawer. Also, I am old and creaky, and I may not be able to stand back up after reaching down there. Albert is always a joy!
Thanks for sharing Pumibel!
Little kitchen here checking in from my C. 1896 country home
Thanks for sharing! Please take a moment to support the channel by subscribing. I appreciate
it. :)
I actually prefer smaller kitchens. I have had both and smaller makes me more efficient.
Thanks for sharing! Please take a moment to support the channel, and join our very valued subscriber family if you haven't already.
Another great video. Have you done a video how to update a laundry room? If not I would love to see a video with all your wonderful ideas.
Also when your laundry room is in the garage
Thanks so much! I haven't done video specifically on laundry rooms at this point.
Great show -- love the bit of tinkly music in the beginning! Yes, drawers, drawers, drawers!!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Please take a moment to support the channel by subscribing if you haven't already. I appreciate it.
My dining room was attached to my small kitchen but separated by a ceiling beam. We had our designer just design cabinets on both sides of the beam to expand our kitchen into the eating area. I love drawers for all of the lower cabinets. Love these design solution videos.
Love the beam cabinet idea! Did they use glass doors and spot lighting in them??
Thanks Lisa!
@@Vinsue96 No I don't have any glass front cabinets.
@@lisaf5303 Thanks Lisa..I was just trying to visualize it. Wish we could post pics
@@Vinsue96 It took awhile for me to figure it out when it was being drawn up. The cabinets are semi custom. I have standard cabinet sizes but I have panels to cover any gaps around the beam since the two cabinets under the beam are shorter than the rest of my cabinets. I forgot the sizes of the two cabinets. Around the beam, they used the same moulding as the rest of the cabinets so the beam just kind of disappears. My cabinets go to the ceiling so the paneling was important to make it look custom.
My kitchen is 8x10 and I totally love it! Because my husband is a total tightwad, remodel is out of the future! But he did put aftermarket wire shelves wherever they’d fit!
Thank Garrett!
I'm on way on remodeling my whole kitchen. The idea of having as many drawers as possible, is just a great big YES!! I'm on that one.
Thanks again! 💫💯👏👌🥳💐
Fantastic!
Really appreciated this video. My elderly parents are building a lovely little age in place home and I’m helping out by planning out a functional kitchen for them. So many nuggets of wisdom in this video. Greatly appreciated - as always Garrett!
Glad it was helpful!
Baby Albert is so dear. ❤️ I love wall ovens and cooktops over a range. That’s what I eventually want. Full length cabinets are also beautiful. 👍🏻
Thanks so much! Sounds great.
@@GarrettLeChic I have a tiny NYC kitchen, it was renovated in 2009, but it really could be so much better if the planning was done correctly. One of the many things, I wouldn’t of had a full size fridge installed. I would of picked one with less depth, the height is fine but it’s too deep. Oh well…. I need to get my own house. 👍🏻😉
Adorableeeeeeeeeeeee Albert ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ . Your tips are amazing, my kitchen is small and I love this video
Thanks so much Erika!
I subscribed for two reasons. The first being you have amazing content. The second being that Albert is just precious!! I love seeing him in your videos. :)
Thank you so much!! Welcome to the channel Ashley. It's great to have you as part of our very valued subscriber family. :)
You nailed it again, Garrett. We have so many of these ideas incorporated into our upcoming galley kitchen reno. Small appliances - an 18" dishwasher, fine for 2 people. found a GE double wall oven that is the size of one regular oven, but is a small oven above with slightly larger on the bottom. Top is great for reheating, and replaces the toaster oven on the counter.
Style question - several of the photos had black & white diamond floors. Good for a galley kitchen? Please keep the kitchen videos coming. xxoo to Albert.
Thank so much! New video Sunday.
Hi! Just had my 6 x12 ft kitchen done and i wanted a patterned floor. If you're unsure of your flooring, i have a suggestion.
1. Measure the square footage of the *exposed* floor (what you see only, after the cabinets and appliances).
2. If you're bad at imagining, take large paper/ cardboard and draw/ paint the grid of pattern in at least two sizes. One piece with the largest grid you'd like, one with the smallest grid you'd like. This will give you an idea of the pattern, color and size that you like or works best with your kitchen.
3. Lay them out on the floor.
4. Take a picture with each sample. Look at the picture. What works? The size? The color? Is it competing with the rest of the space? Does it take all the attention? Or does it fit right in? Any pattern can work in any floor, but the colors and size is what matters. Too small and too complicated will make it overwhelming to the eye, too big of a pattern can look odd too.
We decided to repaint the tile and do a geometric pattern on it. I did this and it helped me figure out the size and color i wanted, before ordering anything and spending money. Good luck!
@@ophilianecr Thank you so much, great advice!
LOVE ALBERT!!!! He's so adorable :D Hubby and I are in the planning stages of our kitchen reno.. current kitchen is maybe 8x8 galley style, with an eating area next to it. We plan on extending one wall of our galley for extra storage, and a coffee bar :)
Thanks so much! He's a great boy. :)
IKEA is my second love for organization!
I have a corner pantry but I would love ideas on how to make it more functional.
I’ve never seen those “floor drawers”, interesting concept to utilize space but I wouldn’t use them either. Winning “LeChic” idea about the microwave in the oven! I once rented an apartment with a kitchen so tiny that when the oven or refrigerator doors were open, I couldn’t get through 😂 got a lot of ideas for storage from Japanese kitchens. Oh Albert the only thing you are missing is angel wings ❤ thank you for these videos Garrett 👏 👏 👏
You are so welcome Anne!😊😊😊
11:36 - I have this type of range and I LOVE it!! It’s in our smaller kitchen, and we have no extra space for a microwave, so it is incredible. There is a microwave drawer on the top and a smaller oven on the bottom. It was purchased 2007 and has since been discontinued. Crossing my fingers that it lasts forever! 🤞🏼(Sharp brand)
Jumping up and down for your channel!!!! Thank you for always providing A-class content! You make dreams possible for those with a small, yet, precious piece of life's pie.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it. Means all to me. :)
I love Albert 🥰🥰🥰….
My hubby loves to use toe kick drawers. Me, not so much! Dog fur makes its way too easily!
In my upcoming reno, I'm downsizing to a smaller refrigerator. I have room in my basement for a second fridge (and standalone freezer) so even with my big family we will be okay with a smaller fridge. Definitely need a full sized dishwasher though!
Your range idea is brilliant. They could actually charge a lot more!
Seeing this video warmed my heart for little Albert. Such a sweet little soul ❤. I also wanted to put my 2 cents in about my small kitchen. I sold the bar stools i never really liked and used the money to collect and thrift different carts and shelves that fit under the counter. Now i can display my vintage pyrex and have more storage!
Our dear Albert passed away last year. We miss him every day. I made a tribute video him last year as well.
@GarrettLeChic I saw the video when it came out, and it broke my heart for you and your husband. Seeing him again in this video just warmed my heart. You are lucky to have each other.
Love you, love Albert and I love the French door oven.
When you make deep deawers the containers cantauners can place down and label the too so you know whats in the container. Label from the top is so efficient
omg he’s so so ADORABLE - Albert the cutie
He's a great boy. :)
My kitchen is itsybitsy galley style. Best thing i ever did was declutter all i did not use or love. Not every appliance needs to be stored permanently in the kitchen, either. I rotate them as seasons and my interests change. Will be a while til i can remodel, but saving this vid for that time. I've high ceilings, so maybe some extra storage space, and love the idea of microwave cubby/under bench. I don't use it often enough to justify the counter space it takes.
Thanks for sharing Dawn! Please take a moment to support the channel if you haven't already to subscribe. I appreciate it. :)
Albert is the best advertising.
If you're updating your small kitchen, my advice is to put in a dedicated space for the trashcan.
And a lazy susan. Because corners are otherwise useless.
Too many specifics, I’ll just say I love you.❤️💕
Thanks Jo Anne!
Perfect for me as I have a tiny kitchen with galley walls. I'm also aging in place in an older community so if I sell it most likely won't be lost on the next buyer as it's a small home.
Hello Albert! Oh and you too hunny. 🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘
Hello!!
I Sooo Love Albert, he is adorable, you are a HERO for this baby, if it wasn't for you he might not be here to enjoy life, and enjoy the love you share with him, this shows the love and kindness in your heart. Thank You for being his HERO. I just want to send you a quick little hug to thank you for being his everything, my virtual hug to you OOO. THANK YOU!
Albert was the hero! It is our pleasure and honor to have him as a part of our family. We miss him every day. He was incredible. Our baby Albert passed away last October at 20. I did a whole video in his honor last November.
I would advocate for hiring a designer to help with kitchens Whether they’re big or smallI. I think the value they add more than pays for the cost of hiring them. Just my two cents. Great video Garrett🙃
I totally agree!
This video is VERY timely for me! The homes Im looking at all have small kitchens. Not a big deal since there's only two of us. Smaller appliances, a microwave cubby - great ideas. Custom cabinets?! Yes please!
I have the smallest kitchen - so it is next on the renovation list! I own a townhome with huge bedrooms but small communal spaces. Also, I am not able to expand it into an open concept because of a load baring wall. Very frustrating. The next place I get, the kitchen will definitely be more of a priority. I'm working on saving the money to have the cabinets done with some added space saving hardware, but I just put in new flooring, so I have to be patient. As always, I love all of your ideas, and I just wish I had the expendable cash to have it all done right now. Your suggestions always have affordable options, but even affordable usually costs a couple of thousand for a professional. Of course, I have access to all of your videos for when I finally get the nerve to rob a bank. 😇
Oh yeah! Extra 💖💖💖 for the puppies! 🐕🐶
Love your ideas about small kitchens. I am a big fan of drawers too. There is two more problems with my small kitchen. What to do with the garbage as I have no space to hide it. What to do with the pet bowls so they are not underfoot .
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you are enjoying our videos. Please take a moment to support the channel if you haven't already, and join our very valued subscriber family. :)
Hello 👋 you know I love your kitchen videos they are my favorites, and OMG yes, yes I’m all in for the microwave/oven concept. I just converted a 11 x 9 room thats an eyeshot from my kitchen into a pantry and I’m totally loving it. I put all of my appliances and extra pots and pans in there it’s the best decision I made. Albert is so cute 🥰 thanks for sharing him with us.
Thanks so much!🐶🐶🐶
That was the most adorable Albert moment I've seen so far 🥰🥰💚
This is one of my favorite videos you have done. Thank you. Ps I think Albert is adorable.
Thanks so much!🐶🐶🐶
Love the microwave and oven idea!
Albert is so cute and cuddly💕💕💕
Hi Garret! I’m so sorry!! I have been watching your videos for months and I didn’t realize I hadn’t subscribed! Yours always come up on my Home feed every day because I watch you so much so I assumed I was. Anyway I am subscribe now and I check the bell as well to see when you download. You are a very engaging person and I feel like you are speaking to us not at us. Keep the videos coming! Cheers! 🥂
Thanks for caring! It's great to have you as part of our very valued subscriber family. Much more to come!
I heart the idea of the cubby for the microwave!
How much do I love your tips for aging in place? You are the best.
Wow! Thanks so much for that comment Wendy. It's so nice of you!
Thanks - I’m renovating my teeny tiny kitchen soon & will be installing more drawers on your recommendation!
Glad to help! Please take a moment to support the channel by subscribing if you haven't already. :)
I have a feeling this channel is one big viral video away from blowing up. Garret they’ve helped me so much, thank you! I’d love to see some silly content from you as well, like maybe roasting Zillow homes or remodeled homes on HGTV
That's the plan! I won't roast things though. That's not my vibe. I think it's tacky lol. Thanks for all your support.
Spice racks for the counter. I bought some that are flat back spice racks in black and they can stand on the counter or hung on the wall. They take up less space on the counter since they back right up against the backsplash. I also got some that are magnetic and go on the side of the fridge and the side of my Breville counter cook top. These are in my houseboat kitchen, but may use some new ones in the condo kitchen.
Love your ' not a designer sense finish but a common sense finish' Great tips again!
Thanks 👍
Missed earlier because our baby girl dog was attacked by a pitbull today. In our hotel. A sudden animal ER visit...she is recuperating quietly tonight.
I’m so sorry to hear this and so happy your dog is doing okay. It’s so kind of you to take the time to watch our video given what happened to your dog. Give her a hug for us, and Albert, Cornealius and Linus send their best wishes for her speedy recovery too.

Just a thought maybe using one of those toekick drawers to store a stepstool to gain access to the taller cabinets
Listening to you is like taking a condensed class. I am actually taking notes. Very effective use of the time with images for visual support. Albert is the star of the channel though.
Thanks so much Suzanne! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. Albert and his brother enjoy stopping by to say hello. They are a big part of the family. :)
I am only 5 feet tall and have glass-front cabinets that go up to my 10 ft+ ceiling. As you suggest, I store extra staples and rarely used items up there I don't use often. I only wish that when I designed it I had left space for a ladder rail. As it is, I store my ladder in the small pantry off the kitchen.
Sounds lovely. The good news is you don’t have to get a ladder out regularly to clean and dust the tops of cabinets that don’t go all the way to the ceiling. 😊😊😊
@@GarrettLeChic indeed! One tip I would have for folks who have tall glass fronted cabinets. Most of my shelves in there are glass, but on the top where I store the less attractive stuff I have solid shelves so you can't actually see what is up there from below.
