EDM is a term that came about in the 2000's to lump together all electronic dance music by the millennials who haven't a clue about the origins of disco or house. Most EDM producers/dj's like David Guetta, Hardwell, etc. bastardized what came before them and commercialized something that at one time was pure and actually changed the world. EDM is the Michael Bay of dance music, over produced and obnoxious. Giorgio Moroder is above the McDonalds of dance music I think.
