Hi Ken! Really enjoying your transition from stick built structures to these smaller projects which can be DIY for most folks! Love the coop and the run and the greenhouse which can be scaled up to the needs of a particular viewer. Love your channel!
Ken when I was in shop class in school. Yes, back in the 70's they had shop class. My projects always matched by plans 'PERFECT'. One day the instructor wanted to see my plans? As I explained they were all in my head, he was not happy. I did get an 'A' in the class because my projects met all the requirement. I like the simplicity, of the projects. You make them interesting, good build and practicable. I have a tendency to overbuild and then I have to figure out how to move them. Great Video. No snow in Oklahoma and you can have it.
Smart thinking. I built my cabin with dimensional lumber sizes in mind and I only had small cutoffs for the burn pile. By the way, a shop bandage is painter's tape. lol Nice project, Lee
Good morning Ken and crew( Kyia), love the old wishing well. When we bought our home in Maine in 1983 there was one here. Heckter, the former owner was a one to use old things, this well was built with old barn boards, I think he even used old nails ! That well lasted till about 2015, Oh Ken, remember u-tube dose not like BLOOD & GORE 23:45 !!
Good Monday morning Kens Karpentry ✏📐🔨🪚Kaiya is the best thing to pop out of that wishing well so far🐕 If another Corgi pops out, I'll take it🤣🙃😛 Take care Ken ⛑💉🩸💊🩹🩺🚑😷🤕👣
Very fun project. I didn't see that one coming! Who doesn't want or need a wishing well? So, another hit from Kens Kenstead. Looking forward to the wrap-up video. You're providing enough knowledge and expertise to make hundreds of youtube viewing novices feel like they can do it too! Wonderful series.
I have a wishing well that I planted Clematis in many years ago and it is beautiful each year 💞 With everything you are going through I understand your desire to stay busy. Stay strong and please give your wife a big hug from me. 🙏💞🙏. PS This weather is crazy 😳🤷♀️
It is good that you planned ahead for the snow. . . . now you will not have to get up and shovel the snow off the roof from your wishing well. Be careful on the roof. 😊
I'm glad you're rebuilding a new "wishing well" well head cover. I think it'll be a lot more presentable than the original. It's looking really nice. I'm glad you made the roof a separate piece. That was really cute seeing Kai jump out of the wishing well! It looks fantastic Ken!
Nice looking wishing well Ken. Makes me want to build one even though I don't have well. I have always wanted to build an outhouse complete with Wards catalog but I bet the town would not like that. Maybe that should be your next project for the Kenstead.
Gooooooooood afternoon, Ken. I built one over my well pipe 20 years ago.... aside from losing one roof board, it's held up really well. But, it is time for a new one. You've motivated me to get it done this summer. :)
Everyone should have a Wishing Well..Let's dedicate this one to Timmy, what do think ? I have no idea what your next project might be ,perhaps a Garden shed garden tools all the shovels forks etceta and of course your wheel barrow. Only thing I see as a problem is you're going to run out of space in yard but you're so good at solving problems I'm sure you'll manage some which way.. Fun project Ken Take care Ken Cheers from me and New Brunswick where we are having the same snowstorm
My grandfather farm had a well that was dug in 1890 it was 4’ x 85’ deep with hand 🤚 laid bricks 🧱 to the bottom. And the well was dug by a couple in their 70 🎉
I salute the builder of the original wishing well I'm certain it stood proud for many years. Someday someone may replace yours, Ken. I hope that someone thinks of you then. :)
As a career construction electrician since 1964 (when safety wasn't the #1 topic), electrical tape along with a piece of napkin or clean TP, was always the "job-site" bandaid . "First Aid Kits" weren't all that common. Maybe a bandaid or two in ones wallet !! Also, GLOVES were only for jobs like digging and were thick heavy leather things so they were totally incompatible for the routine working tasks. Consequently, your hands were either a bit "tougher" or ????
I assume the wishing well is just an "artistic" piece. Our well top just sticks out of the ground 8' from the house. Good idea to leave Kaiya inside, I think her legs are too short for that Saturday 13" snowfall ;)
If I can get it to the Computer I'll send a picture of my wishing well I made 40 yrs ago it's Octagon made with pieces of 2x4s to resemble Bricks, the mortar joints are Homasote, roof is Copper
So much of the pressure treated wood is not rated for ground contact now. Be careful! Ah! Retirement! Made lots of little projects when I retired, now I'm focused on my physical health! The older we get, the skin gets thinner!
Ken even though you’ve done it many times it still freaks me out and I cringe when you speed up the video while cutting at the table saw😆. loved the wishing for a puppy at the well. Great timing😁.
😁😁 if you had a dollar for every ugh we herd while using that Dee What thing you could buy two more other something better Time to step up. Just trying to keep it fun,you do you. 👍👍🤣
That is more like a flower garden wishing well instead of one in your yard you need to make it at least 3 to 4 ft square and high on those sides and put more overhang solar water won't get on it and ruin it then put you a cross piece of 44 with should have been in the uprights but Crosby's across there and take the corners off of it and then maybe smooth it down with her ass for something in the middle and put you a rope on it and a crank out on the end would really make it look nice I personally insulated down in there over the well even though you don't have no problems I would figure out some way of putting a couple pipes about 6 ft longer or whatever driven down into the ground as long as you don't hit the pipes or the wires so you can anchor it and it will not blow away

Nice job on the wishing well. Really enjoyed watching you build it.
Thanks a bunch!

Yes. Haha I’ll be careful
Would like to see the snow coming down if you get a chance. Very nice build.
I’ll try. Thanks
You are so tough Ken, unbelievable! Badly wounded and just continue without visiting a hospital... 😁😜
Haha fear is pain leaving the body!
Not bad for a retired guy. 😁 Keep these videos coming. Love listening to your commentary through the builds. 👍👍👍
Haha thanks I appreciate it
Great project, and an amazing looking outcome so far
Thanks a bunch!
What a nice pup! She can get up there.
I think so too!

Sweet. God bless.

That’s very nice, Ken! A metal roof would look nice, too. Will Lauren be doing the painting?
Thanks I’m not sure
My grandfather farm had a well that was dug in 1890 it was 4’ x 85’ deep with hand 🤚 laid bricks 🧱 to the bottom. And the well was dug by a couple in their 70 🎉
Wow I couldn’t imagine doing that!
Great build, Ken! Are you going to put your cooper's hat on and make a wooden bucket to hang on the winch? 😁
Oooh. Making a wood bucket! Very interesting
Hi Ken, nice job on the wishing well. I have a well head in my back yard that i was wondering how to cover. Now i know, thanks
Cool thanks for watching
I salute the builder of the original wishing well I'm certain it stood proud for many years. Someday someone may replace yours, Ken. I hope that someone thinks of you then. :)
Well said

Haha yes!
This is going to be so cute. Are you painting it to match the chicken coop?
Thanks. We haven’t figured out the color yet
You’re not the only one I’ve seen getting stung by that yellow jacket.
I've received 20" of snow over yesterday and today. Heavy wet heart attack snow. Hope it melts quickly.
Wow be careful
In the interest of long-term weathering, will the top trim on the base section be sloped to shed water? Say, 15 degrees or so like a windowsill?
I think I should
Very nicely done ✔️
Thanks ✌️
Great job
Thanks
Loved it. Would love to see the end result. ❤
Thanks definitely later when it’s done
How cute!
Thanks
Good day to all, peace.
Good morning to you!
@@kenskarpentry yep
@ 14:00 maybe a ratchet strap wrapped around that top would tighten everything up
I agree. That would have worked great
Love that wishing well! Great job!
Thank you!! 😊
Wood shingle roof?
That would look nice
Ken for President 2024! 🎉 🇺🇸 🎉
Haha
Good morning Sir what kinda nailer do you use for that project? Thx
Good morning I used both finish nailer and framer
Rob Ross of Woodworking .
Haha thanks
We made a coffee well instead of a wishing well. We send the pot down and wish for coffee when we pull it up.
Haha

Yes just decorative
👋🤗🤗🙂
BRILLIANT AS always Ken
Glad you enjoyed it
I'm pretty sure 28 inches is code for wishing wells in your area unless zoning comm gives waver. 🤔😁😁🤪...
Haha it’s grandfathered in
You always make me smile.
