I have this blade, and I have noticed that even though it is fairly dull (and I will most likely never sharpen it), it still cuts easily. It has an excellent, very resilient finish that is perfect for chopping wood in wet environments. It is inexpensive, well crafted and perfectly suited for lifetime use. I had one complaint on first handling it, and that was the strange grip geometry where it meets the blade, but when I started chopping wood, I realized that the unconventional grip was designed to lend better cutting power to the blade. It is very well designed, comes with a decent sheath, and I am very pleased to have it in my inventory of tools.

@@britishcolumbiabigfoot8488 Tramontina 18" machete cheaper and stronger(1070 HC steel). It is a beast for green vegitation. Wood handle sucks if you don't wear gloves, though.
@@gregzeigler3850 Tramontina has terrible quality control over metals though. Some people swear by them, others had edge rolls on their first swing. Quality Assurance and lifetime warranties matter more to me so the Fisker is a good bet.
Mine came sharp enough to shave with right out of the package. Definitely not as sharp up around the rounded part and the tip. Haven't gotten out to use it yet.
I doubt you ruined it. You'll just need to take some time to reprofile the edge. I prefer to use files when I've done this in the past. Otherwise, i don't like these over designed store bought steel slabs they call machetes.
Is it possible to love a machete so much that you literally carry it everywhere on either a bug-out bag and/or truck box? Is it possible to love that machete so much that you purchase another just like it and wield them as a pair when necessary? And I ask you, is it then possible to love those 2 machetes to the point (ha) that you have your brother help you to put an edge on the back side of both blades with a wheel grinder and then sharpen them to an obscene sharpness? Yes. Yes it is. I have experienced this love and am not ashamed lol. I have been an aficionado of bladed weaponry for over 2 decades and need no longer search for what I perceive to be the penultimate machete. To the point where I afford them the title of short swords. Fiskar's(whom, by the way, I am in no way affiliated with beyond the point of very satisfied customer Haha) I don't think I have to mention, at this point, that I am quite happy with this product. But I just did. 10/10 recommend. Would purchase again, just to like, put by the egress points in my house and never fear another surprise home invasion again. Btw, that happened not too long ago. Got attacked in my home, my Fiskars machetes were close to hand, and that crazy bastard, after splitting my scalp with a solid swing of a 2×2 saw what I was reaching for, and quickly reconsidered sticking around. Intimidation factor of this item 10/10 tyvfm!😁
I carry axe,machete or brush hook everyday working in the woods. Machete is my favourite tool and I would say it is like an extension of my body. I feel like I’m carrying a sword everywhere I go
The sheath that comes with the machete axe isn't really a sheath, more of a carrying case. No belt loop or strap loops...does anyone know of an aftermarket belt sheath, or a way to secure existing sheath to a rucksack for carrying in the wild?

I still own mine. Still a work horse and zombie slayer years later.

Steady more focused swings cut deeper, wood has a funny way of deflecting blades that dont hit right.

Do you know how far down the tang goes? I REALLY love the design on the blade but I do want it to at least be strong like a full tang.
Not sure how far tang goes down but I have put this thing to the test and not had any issues.

Mine was dull when I purchased it. I tried sharpening it with a sharping stone and I think I ruined it...HELP PLEASE.

I’m not sure. I only use sheath when travelling in truck. I carry machete in my hand while working
