I don get how Cheg survived for so long, most kingdoms that small last a 200 years at most when I play worldbox. I think they pulled a switzerland which i've never seen happen on worldbox

My guess is they had a leader with really high diplomacy so they got into wars less frequently.

Suggestion Idea follow one person or his ancestor for a thousand years. trace their impact on the world. Or follow a legendary stick or just a stick and see where it goes after 100 years
Do this again but with less time, no rebellions, and natural disasters off.

You need to put metals down. That will allow them to then mine those metals, advancing their tech. If that doesn't work, then your game may be bugged.

I summoned like 1k humans and left them for a while. after like 200 years I let like 5 zombies in the world and left for like 20 mins

i have a worldbox world and this one nation survived: 17 tornados, 7 evil mage attacks, 5 rebelions, and yet. after 379 years, they are still alive.
I renamed their nation to The Kojan Republic and today they are ruling the world with a population of 2587. And their army size is like a 1000. All of their regions and cities have an insanely impossible amount of loyalty.
Sadly another nation called Uhki Imperium ended the great empire.
I looked away for a second and the kingdom became 10x larger
