Ok, I wasn't expecting to have this movie this week. Once again you guys tell a story that touches my heart. The photography, ohh... I really loved that flower at the very beggining (and as I am studying flowers, currently, I tried to analize it for a bit lol) and the way you made TRASH seems beautiful on camera. (don't keep reading it if you didn't finish watching it yet, it has spoilers)
Ok ok, I find intesesting this stranger but close relationship of them. And seeing it through the actors were great.
Now let me go straight to the strongest spot to me: he was being horrible to her, and she saw a broken man and not a monster. This is such a way to create change. She could be rude to him, let him talking all alone, be cruel as he was being. But she choose to be kind, and calm, and putting away all the bad things that he was saying. And THEN, he shows her a bit of vulnerability and offers help. I felt so wise from her to don't let him in, because he can hurt her, but even though not pushing him away but giving him something to cultivate.
And then we see the character having this change that this kind of attitude provokes. People are being rude, they expect you to be rude back and then you're kind and "wow I wasn't expecting. Why did you... how did you...?" and we see him taking care of the jasmine and most of that: cleaning everything. Organizing it. As if he was trying to clean himself, to organize himself.
And the thing I loved is that the problem is not solved. He and his mother are still fighting. He continues to be agressive. But Mehreen gave him a seed of kindness and that is something that hopefully Toby will take care of, and it will grow on his heart. The solution of it will grow, they'll grow, and now this movie has putted a seed on my heart too.
    Lovely movie. Lovely story.

As a spectator for the day's shooting, I just want to say how appreciative I was of all the cast and crew for their dedication to the task on what was rather a cool day. Shipra was a particular hero, sometimes shivering after the various takes but charmingly stuck with it without complaint, whilst the rest of us mainly had warm jackets on. Also, being in an urban neighbourhood there was a lot of random noises to contend with, chatty neighbours, plus a children's party somewhere. My congratulations to Josh for his first directing role in this gritty drama and the subtle handling of what could have been perceived as a difficult scenario. Well done to those who had so much a part of making this, in my mind, a very sensitive short. It deserves success. Also, I'm personally proud that this is a View35 Films production. A first of many, I fancy!
