Thank you so much for posting these videos. Languages like Catalan should receive as much support as possible. These videos will help bring awareness. Also, there bite-sized and easy to understand. You're doing a great job.
If we could talk Andorra into joining the EU it would become an official language in the EU :) - (Stupid, isn't it - since there are more Catalan speakers than in Maltese, Danish, and Irish together, all official national languages.)
Hola Maria! Me llamo Rodrigo, soy brasileño y llevo un año y medio en Madrid. Hace dos semanas que empezé a estudiar catalán porque me parece un idioma muy bonito. Estoy viendo todos tus videos en secuencia! M'agraden molt! Gràcies :)
Hola Maria! I would like to send you a message thanking you for this channel. I will be moving to Barcelona in the near future and I'm trying very hard to learn as much Catalan as possible before arriving. I am a Brazilian living in Québec in the moment, which means I speak Portuguese and French. I also speak a bit of Spanish since I'm from the south of Brazil, a region that's somewhat influenced by our southern neighbours Uruguay and Argentina -- my favorite musician is Uruguayan, for exemple! I've been living in a particularly interesting place in the world language-wise -- French in Québec is in some ways similar to Catalunya. This is the main reason why I'm trying my best to learn it. Your channel has been my favorite source for days now! It reminds me of some of the content that helped me the most while learning French. I'm very glad I found this channel. Moltes gràcies!
My suggestion/comment made it in (part of) a video! I've won the "Learn Catalan from Barcelona" lottery! :) As for the main subject, good idea. Being knowledgeable in other romance languages, I am instinctively familiar with the concept of reflexive verbs so I was nodding my head through most of the video. As for future videos, I definitely agree with more conversations. I would also insist on the suggestion I made many videos ago: The subjunctive case. The end of this video highlighted this again. Maybe to make it even more specific, useful (fixed) expressions where you can add verbs/subordinate clauses and the subjunctive case is used (or not). You know like French "Je crois qu'il vient/Je ne crois pas qu'il vienne " or the Spanish equivalent "creo que viene/No creo que venga".
It was certainly a good suggestion! :) As per your other recommendations, moltes gràcies, I also see the value of all of them. I am certainly considering how to bring in more "real Catalan" in the videos, but want to do it in a way that somehow makes sense. Regarding "subjunctive", it is always a topic where some grounding is needed. Out of curiosity, is French your mother tongue?
hi, this is a learner who has been acquainted in spanish and portuguese languages, would u mind to share more videos about catalan grammar? like relative pronouns, prepositions, conjunctions, possessives, pass voice, tenses, plural nouns, participles, adverbs, subjunctive mood, numbers
Hola! Working on that and coming soon a video on past tenses! In the meantime, here are some grammar focused videos :) ruclips.net/video/CnmIJzqMy7g/видео.html ruclips.net/video/RQpFxKUqUcM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/QqWaQHtMW18/видео.html
Moltes gracies bella Maria! Numero u - this is a very helpful insight🧐 Numero dos - I always wondered why Romance languages use different verb forms even though the idea is the same. For example, in English we say “ I am learning, she is learning, they are learning, etc”, but in Romance languages, you have to use a different form of the verb ‘learning’ for the different subjects (I, she, they, etc)🙈🙉🐵😾🤨 Numero tres - Moltes Gracies de nou 🙏 Numero quatre - I look forward to more of your brilliant insights 🎁
Primer de tot (first of all), moltes gràcies pel comentari :) En relació al "número 2" (regarding "number 2"), this is why English is such a pleasure to learn ;) Per acabar (lastly), more videos coming soon! 😄😄
TEACHER MARÍA, I am Latino, and I wanna ask you: ¿Why don´t you make another youtube-channel to teach CATALÁN but in SPANISH LENGUAGE? I bet you speak perfect spanish. You have everything to do it: You`re Inteligent, Beautiful and Charm. And there are millions of LATINOS (PANCHITOS, as many spanish people call us!!!) just like me who likes to learn differnt lenguages! JUST DO IT!!! YOU WILL NOT REPENT!!!
Thank you! There's not a ton of Catalan instructional content on RUclips so your videos are definitely helpful!!
Moltíssimes gràcies :)
