There was a comic book series called Jurassic Park: Raptor that had some pretty brutal moments. It was a direct sequel to the origin JP, and I honestly thought it was pretty good at the time. Granted, I was a kid when I first read them, so I may be viewing them with rose-colored glasses. I think one of the comics in the series (not sure if it was the same one), contained a short story about dilophosaur eggs getting off of Isla Nublar by way of a large piece of driftwood, which ended up in Central America or Mexico. They grew up, and terrorized a small town. A group of local Latino bikers ended up battling them in the streets. It had a very Cadillacs and Dinosaurs feel to it. I know that sounds corny, but I honestly thought it was a great little vignette, and I think it would make a nice Netflix miniseries or something of the sort.
Brandon Svatek Klayton just went over these, so I'm guessing your new here so Welcome Klayton Fioriti park! *plays jurassic park theme on recorder* Jurassic Park Raptor Comics playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLIq7zcIA-ZTTSmgxZXhz9U0jBtKorpsLs Jurassic park annual 1: ruclips.net/video/CFCTxOjs9Ns/видео.html
I think one of the other things about remaking Jurassic Park to be as graphic as the original novel is the fact that the original movie was much more in line with what Crichton originally wanted. As you've talked about on this channel often, Crichton really only added all the horror elements and graphic imagery into the novel to appease his publishers. His first few drafts of the novel were all about the awe and adventure that children experienced with dinosaurs. So I feel that, considering how you said it was in a way always intended for Spielberg to direct the movie adaptation, Spielberg's decision to go for a PG-13 Rating and severely tone down the graphic imagery was a very deliberate choice to make something more true to a close friend's original vision
"All those kids that saw the movie and said I want to be a paleontologist when I grow up" that made me smile so much man you have no idea how many memories that brought back. It made me remember things like going to the museum in nyc and doing the little Dino digsite they had set up where they let you pretend you were uncovering bones! That statement that brought such a smile to my face and brought back several good memories from my childhood is why this video deserves a like and your channel deserves a sub thanks for the awesome vids man. (Just found your channel today lol)
Thanks for the fantastic in-depth response! I agree totally with your answer! Comparing it's potential release to Terminator and Aliens is perfect. The way you describe Spielberg's JP horror is interesting to imagine and just awesome even if we know they'd never go that route theatrically. Even more so when you focus on the horror aspects that exist in the films. Again thanks for taking the time to reply but also for the kind words. I didn't expect that! Stay killer!
Absolutely man! I greatly appreciated seeing my name on your show lol totally didn't expect that when I clicked on the video! Its awesome to have like minded people on here and like I said, your work has been legendary to this channel lol
That scene was ok for me as a kid, but the scene where the guy tried escaping the Rex on San Diego, and when he was screaming and then a crunch and his scream becoming Gurgles and the T-Rex eats him behind the car
I was watching another video about this from CBR and apparently they were illegally breeding dinosaurs there. I do wanna watch a video fully dedicated to the spinosaurus and its 'personality' so to speak. It shows up out of no where and has a mean streak towards T-rex. It's even mentioned by Eric when Alan Grant picks up the t-rex pee Eric says "Careful! Scares some of the smaller ones away but attracts one really big one with a fin."
There's a bunch of Jurassic Park movies coming up, there's a Terminator movie, Power Rangers becoming a hype again, this decade reminds me a lot of the 90s.
hunterkiller1440 I know right, mortal kombat, doom, Wolfenstein, and quake are becoming popular again, remakes of 90s movies by the dozen, it’s like I’m somehow living in an area I wasn’t born in.
With games, sure, especially Doom 2016, it brought back old-school Doom gameplay with a modern coat of paint. But, with movies it feels like a bad parody of the 90's, each remake being worse than the last and franchises being run into the ground.
Rated R take on the first Jurassic....God I would love that. Considering the success of recent movies and TV shows like Deadpool & GOT, I think a remake of Jurassic Park with all it's gore & glory will do quite well. And lets be honest we all will storm in the theaters to see it...😋
'If Jurassic Park were Rated R' You mean if Quentin Tarantino directed Jurassic Park? I'm kidding, but yeah Tarantino would have made it too gory and explicit for anyone under 18. Sam Jackson would still in in it though.
Yeah, but instead of saying "I hate this hacker crap!", he would've said something along the lines of, "I f--king hate this motherf--king hacker s++t!"
The casting would probably be different too. Samuel L Jackson would have a bigger roll and would probably say “mother fucker” every ten seconds and the death scenes would have been super gory and drawn out and Quentin Tarantino himself would probably have a minor roll in it as a random dude who gets ripped in half by a T-Rex or his face melted off by Dilophosaurus venom
Personally, I don't think Jurassic Park would be as popular or made as much of an impact as it is today for the reasons you mentioned. Also, there is an element of "hidden details" in the Jurassic Series that I think makes the violence they do include really work. For example, when the raptors attack the cow in the first film, or when Hoskins gets ripped apart in Jurassic World, leaving the audience to wonder exactly what's going on adds an element of suspense and scariness more than having all the violence visible. It's kind of a "it's what you don't see that scares you most" kind of thing.
I'll be completely honest, i would be very interested in seeing a rated R Jurassic Park, but i feel like just as you said Klayton, it wouldn't be as well known by audiences like children as much. That's why the Jurassic films are still a well loved and talked about franchise to this day, because of the new children getting into it and the utter beauty of the movie. I'm glad i watched this video and can'y wait to see more
Im glad that it wasnt rated R, i mean, we got a franchise! I probably wouldn't know JP if the first sequel never existed. But i would love a rated R side story series!
I think it would have easily been rated R by adding a few extra dialogue and corpses and the film would have remained the same. Personally, I would have preferred that to show that the film showed these animals belonged to a more brutal era and that as we humans, wouldnt be able to survive.
SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU DIDNT READ THE LOST WORLD YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED With an R rating it would have been it and the lost world would have been a lot more brutal at the end of tlw the main villain gets GRABED by a trex and dangled over the nest where the babies would jump up and rip parts of him off
That was sort of depicted in the film version, though instead of at the nest, it was in the cargo hold of the *Venture* (the boat that crashed in San Diego---and a *King Kong* reference). We see Ludlow get grabbed by the adult Rex who then drops him on the floor. He starts to limp away before the adult nudges him back down. Right before the infant Rex pounces on him, we see some blood just below his nose. Maybe not as graphic as the novel depicted it, but it was brutal enough.
It is possible for it to be a franchise and still R-rated. I mean all the Aliens movies were R, the first 3 Terminator movies were R. Starship troopers and Underworld were also R rated and are franchises. Though I think too many movies these days try to cater to the cookies and creme crowd and not making a real serious film.
Only thing I would have liked to see from the book (and I am not the only one when it comes to this) is the T-Rex in the water scene, I dunno I think that would looked pretty cool and terrifying, not to mention I feel being a Steven Spielberg film it would have had a JAWS vibe to it
There are some people who think this scene is silly and unrealistic, but the scene is amazing, and people forget that in the book, they explore this more about dinosaurs having DNA from other animals; It's obvious that a tyrannosaurus could not swim, but if it contained crocodile DNA in its composition, for example, just as the tongue of the novel's tyrannosaurus is bifurcated due to snake DNA.
It would have been amazing for me personally, but we must respect the large group of people who can't handle gore. If it was R rated, it would have been a big hit given the time it was created, the visuals they had already and compared to what other dinosaur movies we've had before, it would have stood out big time and remembered by the older audiences and I'm sure us at our age now, even before would have seen it and loved it. Nothing has been done to the level Jurrasic Park was at, that's another reason why it was such a hit and I totally understand why they didn't go for an R rated version. They see the potential and went for it, put it out to a much wider audience and banked on it, given us in return the much loved sequels. But, having the OG Spielberg in charge. People would have still flocked, let's be honest.
Thank Heavens Jurassic Park was rated PG-13, I personally think that an R Rating would've stopped the franchise from growing. Not to mention, I'm not a big fan of a lot of intense gore, and I like how JP is kind of a comedic film. Although, a Netflix R rated series would be awesome. Great video as always, and keep up the great work.
I believe that if it was remade into a rated R movie. It would be successful. So scary and thrilling. The excitement and being in the edge of my seat is something I am now wanting.
Would it be a $1B box office success, though? Joker proves R Rated films can make big bucks of that magnitude, but would that have worked for Jurassic Park, box office wise?
Klayton I just want to say thank you for putting out such consistent and quality content. I'm a Jurassic park nut and can't think of a better channel to quench my thirst for Jurassic park. And even when you're not talking about dinosaurs I find enjoyable still
Man I really appreciate the compliments and kind words! It really does mean a lot to hear stuff like that and I thank you for watching and continuing to support me here! Thank you for taking the time to watch my stuff! I'm glad you enjoy it!
Screw making these newer JP movies, I want to see that book remake and have it be a dark and horrifying tale. Sure the way they made the original was for the best but shit, a one time remake would be interesting all on its own. I personally think that the original JP was a little soft in the grimdark department and didn't compound the sense of how horrible of a situation that they were in enough. The remake could show more on just how savage these animals could be and show that there isn't anything stopping an easy death for one of them. It could really bring the dreadful feeling of hopelessness and make the audience see the impending doom.
Nevil Easterling Yeah, when I first saw this movie as a child, those vehicles were sooo fuckin cool. It's a shame that they got destroyed so easily(Srsly who parks that close to a cliff?) Without being really used.
Agreed. I never once thought an RV could look cool and tactical, but they made it happen in that film. Would love to modify a wrangler to look like one of the jeeps from the lost world. The new Jurassic World only had stock Mercedes Benz trucks, where they were heavily modified in the lost world and looked badass. At least they had a Pinzgauer in that film ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Even if Jurassic Park was rated R i'm pretty sure i'd still have seen it even as a child.. I grew up loving Dinos and played M rated games like GTA and God of War so yeah I probably would have seen it but wont know exactly. And yeah I clearly found out about Jurassic Park because of the movie not the book... But I still love it PG-13 or R rated.
I honestly don't know what to say, if it was rated R. All I can think of now is that it would be somewhere between nightmare on elms st and Predator. But that's just me. A spin off would be great, but hard and experience. Especially that Netflix isn't gaining alot now.
A Nightmare on Elm Street via it's dark yet colorful scenery, dreamlike shadows and hazy lighting, eerie fog, and the almost sinister nature of the raptors. Predator for the unstoppable killing machine that is the T-Rex, perhaps a scene or two of the dinosaurs playing with their food in an attempt to lure out more meat, the jungle scenery. Both for the unnerving sounds these monsters make just out of sight, taunting their next meal. Now I want this R film. Maybe if I dwell on it long enough I'll end up having a nightmare about it.
"The book was far more graphic, with scenes like Dennis holding in his intestines while the dilophosaurus picked him up by his head, teeth digging into the skull." 1. The movie definitely wouldn't have been as popular. While there are gore fans out there that would love to see something so dark, the film wouldn't have reached the viewer range it has. And honestly, I think it would've practically died off much quicker than it did after JP3 2. I really want that book now. XD
*Jurassic Park III* has a very similar death sequence to Nedry's death scene in the first novel. Minus the part of him holding his intestines in his hands, the third film *DOES* show a man (Udesky) with his head in a dinosaur's jaws (a Raptor) with its teeth digging into his skull.
I grew up watching Jurassic Park from like 3-4 years old, i tried watching it with other kids all the time and they're parents would freak out about us wanting to watch that at a young age; Couldn't get enough of this movie, if it had been rated R back then i wouldn't be a fan today.
Something I'd like to see would be a film based on the game Dino Crisis. The game was not aimed at kids (it was Resident Evil with dinosaurs) so a film wouldn't have to hold back on the gore
If JP was rated R, I think it would've been like Aliens or T2. It'd still be incredibly successful. I also think it could've been a cult classic. Since most modern day parents are more open to what their children see, I think it might've even had the popularity it does now. Also, one thing i'd like to point out is the idea of Kenner still making toys for the movie. I'm sure you already know about the rated R franchises that got toylines in the 80's and 90's (Aliens, Predator, etc.), so I think it would've been treated the same way.
I could totally see that happening...interesting I didn't even think about the toys and merchandise. Thats how Jurassic Park became such a huge world wide phenomenon
James Cameron wanted the rights to the novel. He later stated that had he gotten them, it would've been Aliens with dinosaurs. I dunno about that. but it certainly would've stuck closer to the novel's tone. Curiously I think had Cameron gotten the rights a lot of the same team members would've been hired. Stan Winston in particular as well as ILM since he'd worked with them on The Abyss and Terminator 2. Personally I would love to see an R rated JP someday....when I am like 46 or something
I think sometimes less is more. The film very effectively keeps the dinosaurs hidden for a while. We are introduced to them piece by piece. This works well because it makes the dinosaurs the stars, Spielberg knew he had very good actors to work with, there are no weak links in the cast. However he's an excellent entertainer and also knew that what people wanted was dinosaurs. For example the Transformers francise has about two good films, the first and third ones, the rest are appalling. They make money with good marketing and promotion, crap films can make money. One huge flaw of the Transformers series is to focus on the human characters and (Michael Bay's love of expensive cars ad nauseam, and cast members or hot girls near or in expensive cars) not the Transformers themselves. The character Shockwave is a good example, Shockwave is a fan favourite but has less than two minutes screen time in the third film, he should of been very prominent and had much more time. Other Transformers are affected by the same problem. My point is when we watch Jurassic Park we want to see dinosaurs, lots of blood could of detracted from this as dead people are gruesome but get lots of attention. Huge gore works well in a film like 'The Thing'. A film like that involves body-horror and flesh-eating, flesh-shaping effects. The Terminator needs examples of gore for the simple reason gore reminds us of mortality, The Terminator means literally The Killer. Those films need bloody death to remind us the Terminator/s are actually a threat and not just a new CGI baddie with a special gimmick.
Jurassic Park (both novel and film) are my favorite novel and film respectively. I was ten when it hit theaters and begged my parents to let me see it. They finally caved and took my family. It never would have happened had the film been rated R. That said, I wouldn't mind a more faithful adaptation to the novel. The book (and its sequel) are each nearly 400 pages and I always wanted to see them break both books in half and release four R-rated films that closely resemble the novels with each two-hour film depicting around 200 pages of each novel. It'll never happen, but the kids that grew up on the original films would love it.
Yes, but the book has barely any scenes with humans fighting off the dinosaurs. The whole time they were utterly hopeless, and that's what made it terrifying.
I (like many) saw this film as a kid and was blown away. This movie still has an impact on my life. Even something as simple as an obsession with Jeep Wranglers. I wanted to be there. I wanted to see what happened after the credits rolled. I suppose seeing and liking the movie so young is why I find it difficult to accept any modern sequels. I've been dreaming up what happened next for so long that I don't think anything Hollywood comes up with could ever live up to my expectations. My parents were fortunate enough to grow up when the original Star Wars came out. This is our generation's Star Wars. Great video.
I would of flipped my poop if I couldn’t watch it and also I would like pegomastax if I couldn’t see these and geez the lost world that was just 🤢🤮disgusting
PG-13 is hardly a rating for families. After all, it stands for *Parents Strongly Cautioned---Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13* which is what each film in the franchise got so far. Those are not exactly family fun films and many of the death scenes are quite brutal.
I would love an official JP netflix series that details how they got the park back up and running between JP3 and the opening of JW. I think it can investigate Syngen more, maybe have the whole Syngen Amazon rainforest park explored, with the dino breakouts leaving them thriving in the rainforest (largely unnoticed). I think there is just so so much that the films have left out that could easy be bridged to fill in between the franchise change over from JP to JW. And a cool way to do a season 2 is to pick up the events after the new JW3 movie finishes - because you know it isn't going to tie up everything nicely with a bow! And I really really loved the battle of big rock teaser! I think another one or two of those shorts thrown in between now and the finale will really build up the hype!
Hm, I think it still would have been revolutionary due to its effects, despite an R rating. It might still be a pop culture phenomena since other R films are still considered classics (the aforementioned Aliens and Terminator movies). Definitely wouldn’t have made as much money, the extreme gore would definitely be off putting to parents considering showing it to their kids. It would be interesting to see a faithful adaptation of the Jurassic Park and Lost World books. Seeing as both films took a lot of liberties when making the movies, which basically took key concepts and made their own stories with them. Would be interesting to compare them to the movies we got.
I should be able to do a comparison video sometime before the release of Fallen Kingdom but I think a great story for a spin off would be a straight up adaptation of The Lost World novel. So many things to adapt that were left out and I think the dialogue spoken alone would really make it worth while
So well-spoken and educated, I love your responses to his questions. I am a huge Jurassic Park/Jurassic World fan myself and I honestly couldn't see Jurassic Park being an R-rated film simply because I agree with your thought. I don't think it would have pulled in as much revenue or audience as it has over the years, and as the audience continues to grow. I can listen to you speak all day😊 great response.
I'd really like to see a Netflix series of Jurassic Park, but not rewritten, just a sort of spinoff series that happens alongside/before/after the movies. Something like what Agents of Shield was to The Avengers movies. I actually think they could make it very well and keep up the high standard by two things: 1) Use animatronics like they used to. The great thing about these, is that they can be re-used easily in multiple episodes. They can just top it off with some light cgi work to make the animatronics shine that little bit more and really come to life. It would be much easier long term than having a full cgi team work hard on every episode. 2) It would not need to have these major set pieces like in the movies. Instead, they could revolve around expeditions or smaller camps etc, or maybe make use of some of the existing set pieces from the movies to tie them together even further. I think a series would be an epic way to keep life in the Jurassic Park franchise between the making of the movies. It could keep people interested in the lore, and introduce more characters and dinosaurs that otherwise would take up too much screen time in the movies. Now that I think of it, I have no idea why this isn't a thing yet. Series like Terra Nova, Primeval, and The 100 are popular, and they have a similar style as a JP series could have, so there could even be a big viewer base lurking outside the existing JP fanbase. Where can I find a petition for this series to be made? I need to sign something now ! :D
Carnosaurus (sp?) Was rated R and came out the same year and was a flop. Granted it wasn't directed by Spielberg and didn't have the budget it had, but it was an R rated dinosaur movie which spawned 2 more films. So I honestly feel if directed by Spielberg with the same budget and same special effects it had but rated R, it would still be considered a classic BUT no doubt would've suffered at the box office, I'd say anywhere from 300 to 400 million. I think the best way to see a R rated Jurassic Park would be in a video game. As always your videos are awesome
Thanks for the compliment! And yeah the Carnosaur movies did pretty bad (but they weren't anything special lol) and I think a rated Mature video game is much needed!
I can't explain how much i love this franchise, and how much i appreciate the content you make! (The stop motion old school explanations kept me staring at the sceeen with open mouth, my GF needed to kick me out of it) So HELL YEAh any new content will be seen, looked for Easter eggs and play out the nostalgic cord BUT- and that's exactly why it should've been made by someone who's a fan and not only offering a more gore approach.. although- i would love to see just a clean remake of the first movie, added with added gore and new scienery add in between them, and the upscale needed for the 4k transfer more smoothly.. (especially in the dark blak areas- that was part of the cover for the lack of the technology at that time) And i have to agree with you on the rating fan audience potential- Lets just put it this way- i watched Jurassic park on 5-6th grade after major convincing to my parents that i will survive, still- couldn't sleep and had nightmares and imagined a Trex showing up at the window- but it was worth it!! 30 years later- Watched it at least 50 times and i have a 1.5m original trex replica in my living room 😆 P.S Red the book both in Hebraw and in english, and the english version was moch more gory and descriptive then the Hebrew one..
The novel is so wonderful. I’m not saying it should be done, but if anyone were to remake JP exactly as the book plays out, I believe a live action series would be the only way to cover the story entirely. I would absolutely love to see the opening scene of the workman being brought to the little mainland clinic and the ambiguous nature of his injuries over just directly seeing it happen.
I discovered and just started binging your videos (specifically the JP ones) yesterday. I think You're doing an awesome job with these! As for your question about the hard R rating on the original, I'll just say I'm incredibly happy we ended up with the movie we got. I think if it was a movie that hadn't been made UNTIL now, it probably would be R rated, given the source material . To me it feels sort of like the era of book adaptations and gritty reboots after all.
I don't think it would have had as big an impact on my childhood as it did if it were rated R. Also, I want to talk about the the raptors having a forked tongue like a snake in the go-motion test. I think had that been left in the movie, it would have given the raptors a extra creepy factor. What do you think?
Actually yeah I was just thinking that but I'm glad they took it out. It just wouldn't work with the whole bird part of Alan's constant theorys. But like you said it would definitely be really creepy. I honestly think they look really cool.
Klayton Fioriti I totally agree that it would have contradicted Alan's point that the raptors are more closely related to birds. I have a question though. Why wasn't bird DNA used instead of frog DNA? It would make much more sense considering that the whole bird connection is stated so early in the film. Also, I wish they could have fleshed-out Nedry's motivations a bit more clearly for the people in the audience who are not familiar with the reason Nedry was going to Biosyn.

Absolutely love this channel Klayton Fioriti thanks for having an amazing history of videos for the Jurassic Park Franchise thank you and have a blessed day
Just remember Steven Spielberg said temple of doom is his least favorite film he made because it went to dark. I don't think he would have done it even if the studio would have allowed him.
Im actually in the process of discussing a complete book to graphic novel/ comic with an artist. right now its just discussion and planning as the funds havent been raised and the artist is needing to listen/read the book. even been considering setting up a patreon or go fund me to try to raise funds for it as when its all said and done its going to be a free public access object as i dont have the rights to sell such an object. Even considering doing it in a motion comic format with just sound effects and music used from the movies and games but again its all just planning right now.
If we end up planning out a go fund me or when were done youll hear about its completion through klayton here as i plan to let him know and ask him to spread the word since he seems to be a great source for jurassic park stuff.
Greetings from Argentina. Yes, sir. I totally agree. I was 8 when JP came out, and I'm so thankful my parents allowed and even encouraged me to see it. Before watching it I was so afraid of T-Storms that could not sleep at night; after watching that T-Rex in the rain, I eagerly awaited the next T-Storm. It is to this day that I get the most rest during a storm. At 12 I went to The Lost World Avant Premiere and even got to talk with Jeff Goldblum, ah what a nice memory, thanks. Back to this video; Michael Crichton gives a lot of information to let the reader get a true grasp of the story, he does the same with every novel to make our imagination terrify us (The Andromeda Strain comes to my mind) without actually seeing. Spielberg shows us a lot more but gives space to the imagination as well, our imagination will lead us to a more terrifying outcome if we let it. Take The Lost World's Compy attack where you see the start and middle, but a light one. What happens behind that tree trunk we don't see, but we let our imagination thrill us and scare us, and that blood running downstream... oh my!!! Some things are better left untold. We need to imagine things, use our brains some, we might go stupid otherwise. Very nice vids, keep up the good work.
I've came to realize that it's a good thing that they haven't done the full R rated adaption of the Michael Crichton novels, makes more people of the new generation to want to read his masterpieces. Love Jurassic Park and The Lost World
Well, some people say that Fallen Kingdom will be the darkest JP film of all time cause it's been directed by spanish filmmaker J. A. Bayona who directed a horror film called El Orfanato (The Orphanage) so it would possibly contain more intensely gory and/or scary scenes, who knows? I'm not a fan of gory movies, but what the hell! It's Jurassic Park xD
Also all movies by fox before weren’t rated R when they should’ve been so the rated R movies were dreams come to so we’re obviously praised so basically give the people what they want
Klayton everything you said in this video was fantastically spot on. it's always best to think about the reception of audiences when giving certain films ratings.
I agree with you, to some extent. My wish for a Jurassic Park re-make would not be for the sake of becoming a hard R rating, but to flesh out more of the backstory concepts from the book. The plot about the Raptors escaping, a more accurate character treatment of Hammond (It's about the money, not the children), the part of Malcom's character being more of an activist, as well as Grant being more of a naturalist than just a dinosaur expert. These are all parts that really made me love the book, rather than the grisly deaths and such. I think that the contrast between the intellectual messages about humanity and the primal feelings on death/survival are the best part of the book. I think they have been mining some of these concepts for the "reboot" that is Jurassic World as well as the upcoming film. We'll have to see how it turns out. If anything, an R rating would, to me, just give any kind of re-make the flexibility to explore that contrast. Being graphic because it is part of the universe of the film. To quote Malcom from the book... “Because the history of evolution is that life escapes all barriers. Life breaks free. Life expands to new territories. Painfully, perhaps even dangerously. But life finds a way.” To tangent a little bit, it's like the realization that a lot of people my age (Older millennials) are having in the past years about Orca's. They are not all friendly and personable creatures like Willy from "Free Willy." Orcas are THE Apex predator in the Oceans and arguably the top predator in the animal kingdom, aside from Humans. They are beautiful, smart, social creatures that survive by eating other animals. I'm sure a lot of people have seen or heard videos of their hunting tactics. When put like that, it doesn't sound all that bad. But when you hear it described as stalking seals and drowning baby grey whales, it humanizes them. But, they are animals, just like humans are, trying to survive the best way they know how. I bring this up because we are moving into a time in our history where everything is starkly contrasted, and in the chaos of humanity, we are trying to find meaning. This book, Jurassic Park has such a relevant message about basic humanity which is found near the end. (Please read the book if you haven't) When they are in the helicopter and are watching the island being bombed, I always get such vivid imagery about human nature. It is potentially dangerous; therefore it must be obliterated. If you think about it...a lot of the movements going on out there today, have that same kind of mentality. The extreme is what we focus on, what we talk about, what gets treated as reality. When in fact, real life is a series of events, big and small. There are 2 quotes that I think are lost sometimes in the world of entertainment. The first is from the TV show "House", the important part is what Eve says. Dr. Gregory House: "They're out there. Doctors, lawyers, postal workers. Some of them doing great. Some of them doing lousy. Are you going to base your whole life on who you got stuck in a room with?" Eve: "I'm going to base this moment on who I'm stuck in a room with. It’s what life is. It's a series of rooms and who we get stuck in those rooms with adds up to what our lives are." And the second is from the Infamous 3rd Pirates movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", also, Jack says the important part. Barbossa: "The world used to be a bigger place." Jack Sparrow: "The world's still the same. There's just... less in it." Bringing it back around, I think that Jurassic Park could use a re-telling, and I think and R-rating would benefit the film. But only so they can explore the meanings from the book more thoroughly without being bogged down by trying to just sell tickets, which is what Steven Spielberg did very, very well. But, within his great film, he lost some of that nuance in the spectacle of bringing dinosaurs to life. Very much like John Hammond and InGen lost sight. To throw one final quote out there, this time from Ian Malcom again... (He really has some great ones.) Ian Malcolm: “Scientists are actually preoccupied with accomplishment. So, they are focused on whether they can do something. They never stop to ask if they should do something.” Anyway, Klayton, I hope you aren't pissed that I have turned your comments into a rambling rant. I like your content and have become a new subscriber. For anyone that actually reads this all, I applaud you...You found a way.
I'm not sure if they should go for the hard R, but there's definitely opportunity to do what would be titled "Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park" - where at least in terms of story events and outcomes, follows much more closely to the books. I was actually really disappointed with how they strayed from the second book. The scene with Dodgson in Jurassic Park was really memorable, and bringing him back and expanded with his Biosyn cohorts would've just felt natural and had a more direct-feeling follow-up from the first movie.
i always thought that the discarded jp3 idea of the kids who got stranded on sorna would make a dope horror-esque, rated r film. maybe they were on a yacht that was anchored outside sorna and somehow crashed on the beach. set it between jp and tlw so sorna would still be shrouded in mystery since the public would only be aware of nublar after malcolm spills the beans. the crew of the yacht are killed, and the kids eventually find their way to the ingen village where they contact the mainland. ingen makes them sign nondisclosure agreements to avoid any further scrutiny after the events of the og film.......you make really dope videos man! really great material
Something else I just thought of. In the first Jurassic Park film, Alan Grant tells a very graphic depiction of a Raptor's hunting tactics to a boy at the digsite early on in the film. Included in this depiction is the mention of a Raptor slashing across one's belly, *SPILLING HIS INTESTINES.* That's much like the novel version of what happens to Dennis Nedry, though from a Dilophosaurus instead of a Raptor. And, this is in a PG-13 film. Had it been rated R, I don't think it would be much different, though I'm sure a bit more on-screen gore would have been shown.
Totally! Dr.Wu also gets his stomach slashed open by a raptor and the dinosaurs eat him alive so I think thats something we may actually get (not as graphic) in a future Jurassic World hopefully!
I honestly feel that a more mature Jurassic Park film is definitely needed even to this day. With the current world series, it feels like they're going out of their way to dumb down and pacify the violence The original trilogy feels almost like a different series given how much more brutal they were and unforgiving. There was no plot armor for good guys or dinosaurs. Everybody could potentially die a brutal death
First and foremost. A pleasure to meet you my fellow Jurassic Park fan! And secondly. Thank you for taking the time to make this fascinating video. I know this has been a question that has been on the minds of the most dedicated fans of the novel ever since it's release back in 1990. It's a fair one at that. I can not blame those who were (and still are) such mega fans of the book to be so dissatisfied with the film adaptation that came out. I understand where they are coming from in a sense. Not because I am a fan of microscopic descriptive graphic/bloody content. On the contrary. In fact I confess to being quite a pansy. (Insert shame face here) However I know what it is like to see a novel you love so dearly be altered drastically. To the point it doesn't even feel like it holds any relation to it's source material. So everyone out there who is angry about the film adaptation's censorship and massive edits. I get it. And could never blame you for holding onto your anger over this franchise. I grasp from your perspective why it feels like you were let down. And why so many still wish for a faithful film adaptation to happen at some point. Now that being said. As a person who grew up with the film and didn't even read the book til her mid-20's. (Yeah, as a sensitive pansy it was quite a struggle to push through) I truly love the film as it is! Now I didn't catch it on the big screen back in 1993. I was too young and found the trailer alone too intense to watch. But later found myself addicted to it once my parents purchased the VHS. This wasn't a kiddie phase either. I'm almost 30 and this remains a huge favorite of mine. In fact, when I heard that Universal Studios was going to re-release it in 3-D in 2013 for it's 20th anniversary. I WAS ECSTATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the best days of my life was catching it at the cinema. And I have to say. The 3-D effects were pretty great overall. I love that Steven Spielberg and his creative team designed an atmosphere of terror. Without it ever having to go explicit. Then again, as I confessed before. I'm very mainstream. So the techniques to create the dread of being stalked and/or eaten alive by prehistoric predators without having to show the details was perfect for me. It was thrilling and frightening without pushing the envelope. That day at the cinema of it's re-release was a day I cherish. This movie really is that special to me. So I commend the filmmakers for everything they did. Now some people love their films unfiltered and uncensored in every shape and form. To them, creating imagery of content that is pretty much unbarable to watch is what makes it so honest. PG-13 or less makes it feel watered down. If not outright cheesy. I have never been one to be apart of a group who wishes to discourage filmmakers and screenwriters from pushing boundaries. On the contrary. I believe that is an artistic right. As long as the rating is properly enforced. Why shouldn't they be allowed to go as far as they desire? So if that led to somehow a filmmaker in the future earning the approval of the Crichton estate to remake Jurassic Park into a genuine faithful film adaptation of the novel. I would say congrats to the film's creative team and all the novel fans. Would I go see that film? No thank you. It's just too much for me to handle.
Red - Then I foresee a bidding war between filmmakers Lars von Trier and Pascal Laugier happening. With their resume. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to take it on and happily shake the world to it's core. It's what they thrive on. But I'm with V- Pony on this. Mainstream movie goers are not even ready for an adaptation of this franchise rated R. An NC-17 edition? I honestly think only a tiny fraction of people would legit sit all the way through on their own accord. I can't even see a large chunk from the art-house/indie movie circuit willing to agree to this. But hey, since when has a small turn out ever stopped brash filmmakers from pursuing their dreams?
Great video, Klayton! You probably might know this information, but Jaws was originally going to follow its novel more closely, with the exception of changing the characters to make them more likable. However, the reason to why it didn't end up doing so was because the animatronic shark built for the film would constantly break down. Because of this, the filmmakers did other ways of showing the shark such as showing only its fin out of the water and doing underwater shots. This changed the movie from being a horror film to more of a suspense thriller.
I have become a new resident on this channel, chances are in town but I am fairly new to the channel and I really appreciate joy and all the work that you put in my love to someday it’s a little Adrian but I agree completely with everything that you pointed out in this video and why is better that it was not already I was born in 1993 which is the same year they came out and as soon as I saw the first movie became my favorite of all time
Could another company make a movie based on the book but the movie title is something different? That way it's not associated with the franchise rather it is it's own thing
It would have lasted with one and 2 being Spielberg being director, after that I think it would have been tossed to sci-fi channel for direct to TV sequels
Carnosaur, despite all its flaws, is pretty entertaining due to its level of dark gritty gore. Dinosaurs Attack! needs an adaptation like you described. Tim Burton needs to get off his ass and hire a director that can handle that level of sci-fi horror.
Actually, did you know That Carnosaur was based on a book? It predates the JP novel by seven years. It also dealt with genetically engineered dinosaurs although the setting was in England. The film and the movie had very little in common and in fact the author John Brosnan (pseudonym Harry Adam Knight on the cover of the book) was less than pleased about it. It was a somewhat trashy novel (compared to the JP books anyway) but overall a good read. Highly recommended. And definitely better than the movie. And yes I love the movie and it's sequel (which was a total Aliens rip off)
Oh my gosh, thank you for mentioning Carnosaur! I thought I was the only one in the world to have ever seen it. That movie scared the crap out of me as a child. But I still watched it because my love of dinosaurs was bigger than any fear they might have imposed.
As a die hard fan from the begining, watched it in the cinema with my mum as I wasn't old enough and had to be accompanied by an adult lol.as a now massive horror fan and still massive fan of the current Jurassic films. I wish they would make a stand alone film following both books (maybe a two part film to get it all in) it would be one totally epic and I wouldn't really see it as a cheap easy quickbuck remake,I'd watch it as a separate film but also like a new chapter to the whole story. You've got me wanting this so badly now😭
Imagine replacing Geoffry's death in the beginning with the novel's worker's death. Imagine seeing the "accident" caused by the "earth mover" on screen with all of it's gorey glory
haha dude we were just talking about this last week, I didn't realize you made this as a video. Good "What if" man. Exactly! a big impact on my passion for earth science and becoming a geologist were things like space, animals, and dinosaurs. Dinosaur movies, which lead to dinosaurs toys and games and eventually expanding curiosity of dinosaur textbooks ect. Much like John Hammond said in his first appearance "Jurassic Park is for everyone to enjoy" (13 and older or accompanied by a legal guardian lol)
Oh totally man haha, I really would like to see how this would have ended up, and who knows maybe someday we will get a darker and more grounded Jurassic Spinoff on television or something. I still love the first movie and think its perfect hahaha
I still think it would be a big deal and as a film student as well as a lifelong fan of the series I would think it would be an interesting experiment to see the books fully adapted with nothing held back. That or make spin-offs, that would be something fun to make as well.
Tolkien was always VERY against the idea of his work getting any kind of adaptation, convinced that it would ruin the magic that comes from reading the novels, so it makes sense really
I haven't I found both your channel and Terrordome's channel like 10 years ago already this is some real good shit it's blowing my mind. And I'd pay money to see hard R version of the film even tho ik they wont cuz it'd hurt them financially.
It would be nice just to have a R rated dinosaur film. Not Jurassic Park/World but just you know something for those people that want to see Dinosaurs absolutely murder and rip to shreds humans and other dinosaurs.
When you make a joke

Jurassic park rated R for Raptor

I am new, and I JUST found the videos almost as quickly as I posted this! Thank you for the warm welcome!
Never would've thought of that
"All those kids that saw the movie and said I want to be a paleontologist when I grow up" that made me smile so much man you have no idea how many memories that brought back.
Hey thanks man! Welcome to the Channel!
Jurassic park is the main reason why I LOVE dinosaurs. I want to see the novel adapted on screen with a R rating.
From your mouth to the film god ears
I wanna see X rated Jurassic Park
Me too
Movies and museums are the only way we can experience the most amazing animals this world has ever known and will ever know
I’m sorry but the animal kingdom is as brutal and gruesome as it gets and humans have no real chance in making it through that
Thanks for the fantastic in-depth response!
Its awesome to have like minded people on here and like I said, your work has been legendary to this channel lol
same here terrified as a six-year old
Terrordome 3000 what if nedry was never hired and Jurassic Park lived on as a theme park?
*its
That Eddie Carr scene messed me up as a kid
Same here guy
no it didn't
I never liked that part when Eddie was ripped apart by those 2 T-rex's.
I thought it was cool as a kid haha. Fucked up but cool
That scene was ok for me as a kid, but the scene where the guy tried escaping the Rex on San Diego, and when he was screaming and then a crunch and his scream becoming Gurgles and the T-Rex eats him behind the car
I just want a film, Netflix series, even a cartoon short! But for the love of god somebody clarify to us the mysteries of the Spino!!!
Which mysteries are you referring to?
This man can see the future.
@@lordfawful9469
Hm? Did the Spinosaurus feature on Camp Cretaceous?
@@mdalsted I meant about the Netflix series exclusively.
There's a bunch of Jurassic Park movies coming up, there's a Terminator movie, Power Rangers becoming a hype again, this decade reminds me a lot of the 90s.
Totally lol
hunterkiller1440 I know right, mortal kombat, doom, Wolfenstein, and quake are becoming popular again, remakes of 90s movies by the dozen, it’s like I’m somehow living in an area I wasn’t born in.
With games, sure, especially Doom 2016, it brought back old-school Doom gameplay with a modern coat of paint. But, with movies it feels like a bad parody of the 90's, each remake being worse than the last and franchises being run into the ground.
oxyKILLdone Fair point
We can only hope it might be half as good
Rated R take on the first Jurassic....God I would love that. Considering the success of recent movies and TV shows like Deadpool & GOT, I think a remake of Jurassic Park with all it's gore & glory will do quite well. And lets be honest we all will storm in the theaters to see it...😋
hahaha anything Jurassic I'd see in a heartbeat on opening day!
'If Jurassic Park were Rated R'
You mean if Quentin Tarantino directed Jurassic Park? I'm kidding, but yeah Tarantino would have made it too gory and explicit for anyone under 18. Sam Jackson would still in in it though.
lol he would have been the star
Sam Jackson would still die in the first one yet somehow be in the sequel too
Yeah, but instead of saying "I hate this hacker crap!", he would've said something along the lines of, "I f--king hate this motherf--king hacker s++t!"
The "Alan" scene would have been a long bit of dialogue if Tarantino had directed.
Totally agree!
Steven Spielberg definitely adheres to that philosophy. Jaws wouldn't be nearly as scary as it is if he didn't adhere to the less is more philosophy.
Bastizilla I would too but then again, I'm weird like that.
@@keith4391 actually the t rex can indeed swim in real life
@@ultima35e Yes, I knew. And that would be even better with crocodile DNA.
Like I’ve been saying, a Netflix miniseries that covers both books would be amazing
I'd watch it in a heartbeat!
Klayton Fioriti same, no question. Netflix does great work (except for Iron Fist) with the Marvel shows so I would have faith
I do love your idea of spin offs though, or even an animated TV show like The Clone Wars would be great
I think we deserve more entries in to the canon and hopefully they will begin to do that at some point down the line
That's a cool idea, something I'd for sure watch.
Thanks! And I would so love a Netflix series! Really appreciate hearing the kind words and continued support! :D
Klayton Fioriti No problem man, your channel is one of a kind.
We did get a Netflix series, but it's the complete opposite of being R rated. Still love it tho.
@@SWDude2710 many jp fans are now older and they will surely watch the film because of its r rating and horror elements
@@devss2177 touché.
I'm glad you enjoy it!
if they remake it, i think it would be cool but i don't think anyone would like it more than the original
Sugar Sammy Not to mention its great sequel as well!
I disliked how they didn't Jurassic Park-ify any of the vehicles in the new films. The vehicles in the Lost World were sooo freakin cool
Sugar Sammy I want to see Muldoon with a laser guided rocket launcher, and 30 odd raptors loose on the island, and compys in Costa Rica
I'd love to see a Netflix spin off and honestly think we deserve one
A Nightmare on Elm Street via it's dark yet colorful scenery, dreamlike shadows and hazy lighting, eerie fog, and the almost sinister nature of the raptors. Predator for the unstoppable killing machine that is the T-Rex, perhaps a scene or two of the dinosaurs playing with their food in an attempt to lure out more meat, the jungle scenery. Both for the unnerving sounds these monsters make just out of sight, taunting their next meal.
Now I want this R film. Maybe if I dwell on it long enough I'll end up having a nightmare about it.
Jurassic park is a masterpiece and should never be messed with
"The book was far more graphic, with scenes like Dennis holding in his intestines while the dilophosaurus picked him up by his head, teeth digging into the skull."
1. The movie definitely wouldn't have been as popular. While there are gore fans out there that would love to see something so dark, the film wouldn't have reached the viewer range it has. And honestly, I think it would've practically died off much quicker than it did after JP3
The book is really good. If there is a chapters near you, or any chain bookstores, chances are that they’ll have it.
I can't imagine a dilophosaurs being THAT strong.
@@MrMethekill In the novel it couldve been the scientifically accurate dilo and not the puppy dog sized one in jurassic park
@@Bigfanm3new Even big Dilo would have a hard time lifting every pound of Nedry, wouldn't you agree?
I grew up watching Jurassic Park from like 3-4 years old, i tried watching it with other kids all the time and they're parents would freak out about us wanting to watch that at a young age; Couldn't get enough of this movie, if it had been rated R back then i wouldn't be a fan today.
Something I'd like to see would be a film based on the game Dino Crisis. The game was not aimed at kids (it was Resident Evil with dinosaurs) so a film wouldn't have to hold back on the gore
Hey I'd watch it haha! I loved Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2!
Uwe Boll: "Must take notes."
Even worse...if they went with the human/dinosaur hybrids idea and made it Rated R. Have you seen the concept art? It's terrifying.
Yeah...Idk what they were thinking haha
Lol
I mean I prefer what they have done I'd watch both tho
You...you mean like human compys? That's terrifying.
I would watch the hell out of that movie!!! That concept with an R rating would be amazing.
Shit I Would Watch A Darker Version Of Jurassic Park Especially If It's Going To Be 100% Faithful To The Novel.
Nice haha! Yeah I believe it would have been exactly how you described. The raptors would essentially become Xenomorphs
All while Muldoon blasts them to bits with a full auto shotgun and the rocket launcher. Let's Rock?
haha! He teams up with Roland in the sequel and goes on a "bird hunt" lol
Oh man, Robert Muldoon and Roland Tembo teaming up is the _Jurassic Park_ movie we REALLY need! How bad ass would THAT be?
The Lost World reminds me of Aliens.
You make such a great point! Plus, this also goes to the Monsterverse, mainly the Godzilla movies before GVK.
Anything Jurassic sign me up hahaha!
I found this channel through youtube’s suggested videos. I’m loving the discussions so far. All very interesting and well done. Cudos.
What about a rated M game instead?
A first person Jurassic park game That's closer to the novel with all the blood & disebodied corpses
Hey I'd buy it!
yes plz!
Horror though not an action game.
Yes, but the book has barely any scenes with humans fighting off the dinosaurs. The whole time they were utterly hopeless, and that's what made it terrifying.
Charles Craig it'd be a horror game of course.
Running away from the Raptors & the rex & juvenile rex.
I'm not talking about an action game
I (like many) saw this film as a kid and was blown away. This movie still has an impact on my life. Even something as simple as an obsession with Jeep Wranglers. I wanted to be there. I wanted to see what happened after the credits rolled. I suppose seeing and liking the movie so young is why I find it difficult to accept any modern sequels. I've been dreaming up what happened next for so long that I don't think anything Hollywood comes up with could ever live up to my expectations.
My parents were fortunate enough to grow up when the original Star Wars came out. This is our generation's Star Wars. Great video.
Thanks! :)
Klayton, your videos fucking kick ass. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I greatly appreciate hearing that!
Just imagine if the novel was made into a graphic novel. With the right artist, the bloody horror of Jurassic Park would be so good!
Wow.
Then my Mother would of NEVER let me see it....and I would of lost a critical happy cornerstone of my childhood!
I would of flipped my poop if I couldn’t watch it and also I would like pegomastax if I couldn’t see these and geez the lost world that was just 🤢🤮disgusting
I think an unabridged hard R Jurassic Park would be regarded today as an iconic horror movie, rather than an iconic blockbuster
I wouldn’t be a family fun film
yeah I agree
I am a huge
Jurassic Park/Jurassic World fan myself and I honestly couldn't see Jurassic Park being an
R-rated film simply because I agree with your thought. I don't think it would have pulled in as much revenue or audience as it has over the years, and as the audience continues to grow. I can listen to you speak all day😊 great response.
man, i love those special artworks for the book scenes
I'd really like to see a Netflix series of Jurassic Park, but not rewritten, just a sort of spinoff series that happens alongside/before/after the movies. Something like what Agents of Shield was to The Avengers movies.
I actually think they could make it very well and keep up the high standard by two things:
1) Use animatronics like they used to.
Samuel L Jackson shouting mother fucker would have made the movie 10 times better.
lol
Tired of these mother fucking dinosaurs on this mother fucking island
These motherfucking raptors
I am sick of all these motherfucking raptors in this motherfucking electrical shed.
MP197742 Thats hilarious!
I can't explain how much i love this franchise, and how much i appreciate the content you make! (The stop motion old school explanations kept me staring at the sceeen with open mouth, my GF needed to kick me out of it)
So HELL YEAh any new content will be seen, looked for Easter eggs and play out the nostalgic cord BUT- and that's exactly why it should've been made by someone who's a fan and not only offering a more gore approach.. although- i would love to see just a clean remake of the first movie, added with added gore and new scienery add in between them, and the upscale needed for the 4k transfer more smoothly.. (especially in the dark blak areas- that was part of the cover for the lack of the technology at that time)
And i have to agree with you on the rating fan audience potential-
Lets just put it this way- i watched Jurassic park on 5-6th grade after major convincing to my parents that i will survive, still- couldn't sleep and had nightmares and imagined a Trex showing up at the window- but it was worth it!!
30 years later- Watched it at least 50 times and i have a 1.5m original trex replica in my living room 😆
P.S
Red the book both in Hebraw and in english, and the english version was moch more gory and descriptive then the Hebrew one..
Klayton Fioriti
I totally agree that it would have contradicted Alan's point that the raptors are more closely related to birds. I have a question though. Why wasn't bird DNA used instead of frog DNA? It would make much more sense considering that the whole bird connection is stated so early in the film.
Also, I wish they could have fleshed-out Nedry's motivations a bit more clearly for the people in the audience who are not familiar with the reason Nedry was going to Biosyn.

and they still left the lizard eyes, thats the only thing that I really disliked about them, thats why I LOVED the JP3 Raptors
I appreciate the detail and quality you put into your videos. I am a huge fan of the franchise. I am a proud subscriber. Great Job and keep it coming!
personally id love to see a completely novel accurate graphic novel and or an R rated 2D animated series for JP AND TLW.
Now that would sell and be something I'd totally buy immediately haha
Me to I want a graphic novel of the book and a Congo tv miniseries if you liked the Jurassic park book I recommend that
Im actually in the process of discussing a complete book to graphic novel/ comic with an artist. right now its just discussion and planning as the funds havent been raised and the artist is needing to listen/read the book. even been considering setting up a patreon or go fund me to try to raise funds for it as when its all said and done its going to be a free public access object as i dont have the rights to sell such an object. Even considering doing it in a motion comic format with just sound effects and music used from the movies and games but again its all just planning right now.
conscript900 I hope you succeed I would love a graphic novel adaptation of the book it would be amazing
Hey thank you! I greatly appreciate the support! :D
I've came to realize that it's a good thing that they haven't done the full R rated adaption of the Michael Crichton novels, makes more people of the new generation to want to read his masterpieces. Love Jurassic Park and The Lost World
I would’ve loved a R rated Jurassic park, 7 year old me would’ve loved that!
I was pretty messed up as a kid :/
lol
I watched predator when I was 7.
It's Jurassic Park xD
although take into opinion movies like deadpool and the new wolverien movies, both were rated R and did exceptionally well almost because of that
nxztt, that's true, but it's also 25 years later. Lots of media and life changes in the world.
Also all movies by fox before weren’t rated R when they should’ve been so the rated R movies were dreams come to so we’re obviously praised so basically give the people what they want
Klayton everything you said in this video was fantastically spot on. it's always best to think about the reception of audiences when giving certain films ratings.
Hey thanks man! I greatly appreciated reading this haha!
Klayton Fioriti HAHA! I'm glad you did.
The main thing I miss from the novel is the part where Muldoon shoots raptors with a missile launcher.
oh man i love both your channels !!
Woaa nice video sir your points seem to be valid
Thanks man! Really appreciate it!
i really think it wouldn't have straight up flopped but i think it would have felt too over the top to love it the way i do.
8:53 awwwww Jaws lost a tooth
But life finds a way.”
To tangent a little bit, it's like the realization that a lot of people my age (Older millennials) are having in the past years about Orca's.
(Please read the book if you haven't)
When they are in the helicopter and are watching the island being bombed, I always get such vivid imagery about human nature.
Are you going to base your whole life on who you got stuck in a room with?"
Eve: "I'm going to base this moment on who I'm stuck in a room with. It’s what life is. It's a series of rooms and who we get stuck in those rooms with adds up to what our lives are."
And the second is from the Infamous 3rd Pirates movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End", also, Jack says the important part.
Barbossa: "The world used to be a bigger place."
Jack Sparrow: "The world's still the same. There's just... less in it."
Bringing it back around, I think that Jurassic Park could use a re-telling, and I think and R-rating would benefit the film. (He really has some great ones.)
Ian Malcolm: “Scientists are actually preoccupied with accomplishment. So, they are focused on whether they can do something. They never stop to ask if they should do something.”
Anyway, Klayton, I hope you aren't pissed that I have turned your comments into a rambling rant. I like your content and have become a new subscriber.
For anyone that actually reads this all, I applaud you...You found a way.
A hard R book adaptation...with feathered dinosaurs.
Like the remakes to the thing and the blob, dark, graphic, and to the book as much as possible please!
I think ur right, it wouldn't be the household name it is now. But man what a movie it would have been!!!
I feel like the rated R version of this movie would have been to much. And personally when i read the book at 12 it gave me nightmares.
The more I read about what could have been, the more I want to have those nightmares.
pussy
Masquerader Only crazy people want nightmares.
"it gave me nightmares"
Crichton sucess! xD
I agree, the movies are already terrifying and brutal but the book? Jeeez!! It is even more disturbing.
i always thought that the discarded jp3 idea of the kids who got stranded on sorna would make a dope horror-esque, rated r film. maybe they were on a yacht that was anchored outside sorna and somehow crashed on the beach. set it between jp and tlw so sorna would still be shrouded in mystery since the public would only be aware of nublar after malcolm spills the beans. the crew of the yacht are killed, and the kids eventually find their way to the ingen village where they contact the mainland. ingen makes them sign nondisclosure agreements to avoid any further scrutiny after the events of the og film.......you make really dope videos man! really great material
Personally, that's something I'd rather not see in any film, much less a Jurassic Park/World film.
Yeah it was brutal the books where great and I recommend it to anyone who liked the movies
I honestly feel that a more mature Jurassic Park film is definitely needed even to this day. With the current world series, it feels like they're going out of their way to dumb down and pacify the violence
The original trilogy feels almost like a different series given how much more brutal they were and unforgiving. There was no plot armor for good guys or dinosaurs. Everybody could potentially die a brutal death
It would be amazing if Netflix make a series more accurate to the book.
Or Supermassive Games.
(Insert shame face here)
However I know what it is like to see a novel you love so dearly be altered drastically.
What if Jurassic Park was rated NC-17?
Damn!
I dunno if the world is ready to see Dinosaurs copulating....just saying o.O
Then instead of just his chest we would have have seen Goldblum's whole enchilada. 😍
The thing that’s i hate about jurassic park is that it end in one day only. The whole escape and capturing or happy end scene takes place in one day
john 117 why did they spend the night in the tree?
2 days actually.
I have become a new resident on this channel, chances are in town but I am fairly new to the channel and I really appreciate joy and all the work that you put in my love to someday it’s a little Adrian but I agree completely with everything that you pointed out in this video and why is better that it was not already I was born in 1993 which is the same year they came out and as soon as I saw the first movie became my favorite of all time
a dark dinosaur show on netflix would be amazing.
well now it just seems the age demographic is going down.
I totally agree with you. I use to sometimes wish Jurassic Park was more graphic, but nowadays it excites me that I can share it with my kids someday.
Could another company make a movie based on the book but the movie title is something different? That way it's not associated with the franchise rather it is it's own thing
Well a remake of Carnosaur could (and should) happen someday lol
I think an r rated Jurassic Park would be sick. But I also don't mind tv gore as much as most people. Great video as always dude
Imagine if Tarantino directed it...
And yes I love the movie and it's sequel (which was a total Aliens rip off)
I love Carnosaur! They used to play part 1 and 2 on cable all the time when I was a teen in the 90's!
Oh my gosh, thank you for mentioning Carnosaur! I thought I was the only one in the world to have ever seen it. That movie scared the crap out of me as a child. But I still watched it because my love of dinosaurs was bigger than any fear they might have imposed.
Codex Machina I remember that B movie version of JP lol. It was entertaining.
Alberto Gomez Yikes! Lol little kid me would be terrified hahaha
You nailed it at 8:20 - PG13, more $$$. But even being a young kid watching the first JP, that movie was frightening enough.
I have wanted to see a great rated R dinosaur movie for decades. Carnosaur didn't do it for me.
haha dude we were just talking about this last week, I didn't realize you made this as a video.
I read the first book and it very good im reading the second book now
Awesome!
steven riggins the second book is fantastic, shame the film didn’t use the story.
I still think it would be a big deal and as a film student as well as a lifelong fan of the series I would think it would be an interesting experiment to see the books fully adapted with nothing held back. That or make spin-offs, that would be something fun to make as well.
The Tolkien Estate hates Peter Jackson now? Really? Most people wouldnt even know the Lord of the Rings if it werent for Peter.
Oh they despise him
RoboticDragon seriously? That’s like saying most people wouldn’t know a Christmas carol with the muppets!
Dino Crisis would work well
As long as it doesn't turn into a weird space adventure again ^^||
