2:33 An (Imortant) job Not grammar nazi but just in case someone thought that this is a real word It's just misspelled word for Important That's important to know
Oh my goodness!!! Thanks a lot about your great lesson my amazing teacher you've been helping us a few days ago but now I'm speaking fluently i was said that i speak English like a white man
EXCELLENT VID, HADAR! In case students want to know what this is called, specifically, in English--> it is called a 'GLOTTAL STOP" on the "T". There are many words that do this. You'll hear Americans do this on words like "mountain" (mou'in) interview (in'erview)...etc... I teach Spanish speakers--> American English for a living (for almost 15 years now). I teach this exact pronunciation pointer a lot with Spanish Speakers; "The Glottal Stop"
Hi .You teach pretty well .very specific .I know the or sound it's one of the phonics sounds. So when you pronounce or this word, the r here is it as strong as the r sound in the ending of other words such as better ,beer ?Or It is weaker ?
Actually, the first n is just nasalised, that is you say it without touching the palate. Then you touch the palate for t, but you do not release it, but you go for n, again no release and than release the tongue with the last t. There is a more simple variant with import schwa nt.
Hi Hadar, I have not understood if the schwa sound should pronounce with the mouth's relaxing position and expressing a sort of moan ' ahh ' or pronouncing the vocal ' a ' for the word important like this would not exist ? That is to say. /Im 'port ent/ or /Im 'port nt/ Thanks a lot!!
Hi, Hadar, excellent pronunciation. From now on, you 're my teacher I must learn from you.You 're so important in the video. You'll stick with me,I'm sure that l can do it, I can make in the end. Thanks so much .Bye for now. Have a wonderful week. I'll see next week in the next video.
You are teaching this incorrectly! This is the correct pronunciation: [im-pawr-tnt] The middle T should be pronounced. Saying im-pawr-ent is not correct. Look it up in a dictionary.
Maybe you didn't say to drop it but you clearly are dropping it when you say the word. I see this happening increasingly, especially with young people. Important, mountain, any word with a middle T become impor-ant, moun-in, etc. You are doing it but not to the extent I hear others. From Dictionary.com: [im-pawr-tnt] or im-por-tant. You are teaching a slang version of the word by shortening the tant to a nnt. Perhaps this is the new modern way to say it but I was taught back in the 60's to say the T, to enunciate the word correctly and completely and not shorten it or say it too quickly losing the T.
When the T appears before a Schwa (reduces vowel) and an N it is either released through the nose or pronounced with a glottal stop (which is what you hear). It’s not slang but a phonological process that occurs in American English:)
Okay, so perhaps it has become an acceptable way to say the word as our language slowly erodes and morphs into something entirely different. I wonder how long before "prolly" will become the norm instead of "probably"?
That what exactly I was looking for a clear explanation about this word, keep going your making an amazing teaching thanks a million

Hi, I want to ask you if this pronunciation is British or American English? Thanks.

The last example has a misspelled "important" .
”It's very importnat".
Kind regards, thanks for sharing what you know
Thank you!! I noticed too late and I can't fix it now.. those typos sometimes slip my sight. I'd make a terrible editor.

I am wondering Is the r sound here like a schwa sound ?
No, it's not reduced in American English. In British English it is dropped.
Please post a lesson on how to pronounce the word AUTOMATICALLY with flap T's.
Thanks!

I hear it pronounced impor-dent.
more Americans are saying em poor ent !!! AAAAAHHHHH
And it is irritating to hear
2:37
that's not easy, it's gonna take me years to say it right
You typed important to importnat.
😐
Why are you instructing people how to mispronounced a word? It's imporTant.
Because the way YOU pronounce it, is the only way. Of course.
Accent's Way English with Hadar I pronounce based on the letters. Americans sound silly when then say “impordent” and you’re perpetuating this.
You look Beautiful Madam....
Guess gonna go for "im por unt " 😂
You are teaching this incorrectly! This is the correct pronunciation: [im-pawr-tnt]
The middle T should be pronounced. Saying im-pawr-ent is not correct. Look it up in a dictionary.
Did I say to drop it? It’s released through the nose, not in the mouth. So it sounds different
Maybe you didn't say to drop it but you clearly are dropping it when you say the word. I see this happening increasingly, especially with young people. Agreed.....I will stick with the Funk & Wagnalls pronunciation that has 2 Ts.
