My grandpa was a bus driver and said he got baked goods/candy a lot at the start of the year, the holidays, and at the end of the year. The kids loved him and he loved them back.
I would always give my bus drivers their favorite candy at the end of the year and thank them on the way off every day. Bc I know I couldn't handle screaming, moaning, annoying children while I'm driving.
The fact that his friends and family apparently are uncomfortable with her generosity is pathetic. When he referred to bus drivers and waiters as “lower class” that sealed the deal. This man has no respect, decency, or empathy for anyone not within his league. His wife is beyond the field for him.
I assume it was more like him telling his friends and family what she does and making her seem weird and then being like “isn’t that just so weird that she just like give random people gifts like that???” And they were like “…..yeah?…” and he was like THEY ALL AGREE THIS IS WEIRD
There's also a very good chance he's lying about that. Abusive controllers always bring up running by these things they want their partner to do/not do and act like everyone in the world agrees with them.
I’m not sure if my comment thing is messed up, but I wanted to put this on the top comment. I’m a child of divorced parents, currently happening, but it’s horrible. Seeing parents go through divorce is horrible with terrible affects. A party would make it worse. I know I may be overreacting, but it’s hard. Nothing like a simple breakup. Sorry if this sounds bad.
This woman deserves so much better. I feel like this story just incapsulates the quote from Harry Potter, “if you want to know what a man’s like, take a look at how he treats his inferiors not his equals.” Not that people in these jobs are inferior, but service workers are just under appreciated and can get treated so badly. Giving them cookies could literally make their day.
Yeah, Sarah is absolutely right - his wife is something and he is nothing. I think that his ego can't handle how small it makes him feel, and he doesn't know how to name that feeling of existential angst, so he calls it embarrassment.
I don't get how he sees his wife's actions as negative and embarrassing, unless he sees the drivers/workers as beneath him. Alright, the reply in the comments makes me feel like he and his family feel inferior to the wife. Weird.
If this was my wife I would be so freaking proud of her. I would brag to everyone ''My wife is so kind and generous, she always thinks of others before herself''.
We handed out two cups of make-it-yourself hot cocoa and chocolate to people on Friday to mark the international mental health day, so that they could share it with someone, and when we gave to the bus drives, one of them almost cried because she had a bad week, and this meant the world to her… Those cookies could have made someones week!
I had an ex-BF like this. For example, I gave my seat up to an old man on a train and he said, "You only did that to feel good about yourself." He was very, very concerned with himself and people's perception of him and into Neil Strauss and "The Game" and self-improvement and fantasies of success. He did mention feeling a lack of empathy for others and probably had some mild personality disorder. Maybe this gift-hating guy has a similar personality?

This woman is the sweetest. I’m not a bus driver, but I’ve been working in customer service since I was 14, so 6.5 years now and I’m only received one gift from a customer before, she gave me an entire slice after we had a long conversation in the drive thru when the line was held up. She made my day and it’s a fun story to tell. People like that woman’s husband are such Debby downers and just assholes. He doesn’t deserve his beautiful, kind wife in the slightest.
He probably never buys her flowers or does anything nice and selfless for her. I bet he expects her to do all the cooking, cleaning, household stuff, raising kids, grocery shopping etc, never thanks or even appreciates her for doing that. She is such a sweetheart and deserves so much better. I hope she divorces him and finds happiness.
We have a lot of food allergies in our family and probably wouldn’t be able to eat the cookies. However I would still appreciate the act of giving them to me. It was super nice of the wife
An interest/crush of mine in HS was like this, I gave him cookies for Valentine's Day and he laughed in my face, told all of his friends and they all laughed. My grandmother got divorced after years of physical and mental abuse and lost a lot of friends because "it was embarrassing to get divorced". Divorce literally saved her life.
What a strong woman your grandmother was for doing that knowing that people didn’t have her back. It really was and sometimes still is taboo, especially in certain parts of the US and the rest of the world for that matter, for a woman to do this. So many women think they can’t get out and suffer endlessly or even die at the hands of their spouse. Divorce should always be acceptable.

My daughter had the same buss driver her last 2 or 3yrs in HS,he stared picking her up and dropping her off in front of our house so we weren't waiting for him in the dark at 6am. We exchanged Christmas cards and I gave him a giftcard for coffee for Christmas. We found out he shares the same birthday as her and I again gave him a card and giftcard. He went out of his way to make sure all the kids were safe while in his care. We last saw him March 2020 on their birthday. School was closed after that and went viral. He sent her a graduation gift and card!

I will be quoting Sarah from now until the day I die. "You are a man who is the color grey," just became my go-to rejection for every creep I ever encounter.
"My wife's behavior is too extreme, she makes cookies for the *LOWER CLASS* who care for *OUR CHILDREN* , and the children are *LEARNING FROM IT* !!!!!!!!"
I miss the old days pre Covid when I could bring my chocolate chip banana bread to work. It brought me so much joy to see it disappear and folks happy. Baking is a joyful experience 💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️
Are you kidding me?? Coming from a Latin family, my mom would always make fresh lemonade/juice for our family every morning and she would make an extra tumblr for my bus driver. My bus driver would give it back at the end of day and then the cycle would repeat. They loved it!
My mom always treated my bus drivers with the most respect, I had the same one from kindergarten until 5th grade and we knew his favorite candy bar, what his favorite drink was and who his wife was. He actually went to the same church my great grandma did so we got even closer after he got a new route he wasn’t my driver anymore. His wife passed 3 years ago and he passed exactly a year after, they were AMAZING people. Even when I was a senior in highschool he would stop me whenever he saw me. One of the best relationships I’ve ever had my entire life was my bus driver so it makes me sad to hear that there’s people out in the world like this.
The fact he says “she ‘tries’ to teach these things to our kids” makes me think he purposefully tells the kids not to do stuff like that, that their mother is idiotic etc and it will destroy their family.
Oh gosh, this hit close at home. I really like to bake for my coworkers, boss and when I was studying to my teachers... My ex hated them, and told me I was trying to hard and even ask if i was flirting with coworkers, I stopped doing it because I was trying to please him. We broke off before COVID, and my dad passed away on January, and I learned what they say exactly, you leave behind in the people you cared its the little acts.
Thank you for sharing ❤️ so sorry for the loss of your dad. It’s the little things that matter most. I’m sure all your coworkers loved your baked goods!
1st- 6th grade my mom would make tamales for me to give my bus drivers. They were always really happy to receive them. This lady is an amazing person for giving them cookies!
I am a school bus driver and I can tell you I love when the parents or kids give me handmade gifts like cookies or cards it shows me that they see my effort and caring for their kids and getting their kids to and from school safely this husband has no idea how to be a good husband or a good human I applaud that woman and that she is teaching her children to be wonderful humans
I love receiving baked goods. I work at the post office and LOVE when I get baked goods at Christmas. I also love giving baked goods. I love to bake. My husband loves giving the baked goods too. He just makes sure he gets some of the things I bake. Lol
I used to work in customer service and I remember when this old woman came in my line and checked out and then gave me a butterfly that she crocheted. To this day I still have that butterfly on my desk to remember that some people are good. Although I did recently quit because of how badly I was being treated by most people, it still makes me smile thinking of that woman.
I LOVE random gift-giving. Of course we buy gifts for people for birthdays or weddings or whatever, but when a person gives me a small gift for no reason, it means they just thought about me and wanted me to feel good. I think that's wonderful, and I like giving that to people.
He definitely yells at McDonald workers to get a “real” job and stop asking for handouts while he probably got everything handed to him by his mommy and daddy. His idea of a tip is giving a waiter $2.00 because he believes if he gave them anymore they would get greedy. What a disgusting human being.
My mom always made baked goods every year for all my teachers, administrators and bus drivers every Christmas. Everyone, bus drivers especially were always so surprised and loved it. It’s so sweet. Even where I work today she comes in and will make baked goods for my coworkers. I would be so sad if my dad thought this of my mom!
I’m late, but where I live there’s bus driver shortage. It is a very stressful job. Most busses have to do THREE trips back to the school just to be able to drop off more kids to their homes. Kids are being picked up late and arriving late for school. They deserve more than cookies tbh BUT giving baked goods as a thank you could mean so much to them. Who doesn’t love some appreciation gift. Some bus drivers go above and beyond and maybe they don’t feel noticed by their employer. This man sucks and the wife deserves wayyyy more!
I bought some candy to gas station workers that I saw were almost breaking down and super busy and late with their food orders. It was also covid and pretty late at night. I worked at a gas station (same chain, in a different city) the previous summer myself and could relate to it so much and just wanted to do something to acknowledge that and let them know it’s ok and they’re doing the best they can.
literally how could he not fall in love even more with her and appreciate how selfless and sweet she is ? how could he not find those qualities that she has so beautiful and amazing like dude, maybe you should be more like your wife 💀
At my moms house we had a mailman who was super kind but would get complaints because he likes to talk to the people and sometimes didn’t know when to stop but I really appreciated him so I made cookies for him and decorated them every Valentine’s Day we’d leave it in the mailbox with a note that read “To our mail carrier thank you.” He didn’t always work on Valentine’s Day but always left a note in our mailbox afterwards to say he appreciated it. (I made them cause I had to make valentines for others in my class growing up and because he was a good guy.)
Once when I was walking home from school a mom leaving a community center I was passing asked me if I wanted their leftover donuts. It’s been 5 years and I think about it often. I will never forget her kindness.
I work in a daycare, and a child told me about cupcakes she had made with her mother over the weekend. I jokingly asked her if I could have one, trying to be funny for the child like saying “Can I wear your coat? It’s a lovely coat” with the child usually replying “No you’re too big!” But this child obviously told her mum that I would like a cupcake, and they brought one in for me the next day. It was so lovely and still remember it to this day.
Uhhhh I've given coworkers, husband's coworkers, friends, the farriers, the plumber etc baked goods or food. Our photographer had a horrible couple weeks. When we paid her, we also have her enough halibut for her family to have dinner that night. Her whole face lit up. I also love to bake. Any time in college I was extremely stressed, I stress bake. My professors, friends, bosses all got cake and cookies. It's one of those things where I might not be able to always give someone 20 bucks just to make their day a little better but you can pretty much always afford it batch of cookies.
my husband LOVES that I love being kind to others! while he may not fully understand it, he would NEVER say that i’m embarrassing or uncomfortable. I feel so sorry for this woman.
My parents don’t have the time to bake goods, and my family worries about allergies, but every year my mom gives every teacher, teacher’s assistant and bus driver Starbucks gift cards. This year target had ornaments of girls and bears in wheelchairs, so my mom bought them and also gave them to my sisters drivers and teachers.
😂😂 I actually laughed out loud, a divorce party was mentioned. I got divorced back in 1994 and my mum threw me a divorce party 🎈 I am from Scotland, UK xx
Omg. Just because he is uncomfortable doesn't mean that he has the right to control her. It has nothing to do with him and does not impact him. No one is embarrassed by her kind and loving actions.
When ever I'm talking on the phone or to someone say a cashier. I always ask them how they are, and then at the end I say thank you and wish them a good day. It's not much but when I worked in retail I always appreciated customers who said that to me

@@Bringon-dw8dx I live in Peru and here it's not that common to thank them. But still I do, that's how I was raised
This sounds so good right now! I love banana bread. I’m sure your coworkers miss it too
Are you kidding me??
Oh my god I LOVE Morgan!! She put my emotions on this story into words perfectly!!
I crochet and would give my kids bus driver crocheted gifts for christmas. they often get forgotten when teachers are given gifts
The woman is shy too. This is amazing for her shyness, having to go out and give someone you barely know cookies?? That takes guts!
The fact he says “she ‘tries’ to teach these things to our kids” makes me think he purposefully tells the kids not to do stuff like that, that their mother is idiotic etc and it will destroy their family.
She sounds like a kind, thoughtful person.. Maybe he needs to take on some of kindness
Im a cake decorater and I once got an order for a "Divorce cake", it said "Newly UnWed" as by FAR my favorite cake Ive done
This new friend is HILLARIOUS! Please bring her on more often. Also we want to see more of dad. You have great family and friends.
My mother was a bus driver in the last few years of her life! This woman is an blessing to anyone lucky enough to know.
I love Sara so much.... bring her back more often!!! She's so amazing. I love how she just berates these a-holes up front.
I love receiving baked goods. I work at the post office and LOVE when I get baked goods at Christmas. I also love giving baked goods. I love to bake. My husband loves giving the baked goods too. He just makes sure he gets some of the things I bake. Lol
Give people cookies. It's beyond sweet!! Love this wife so much!!!
I love Sarah! Lol she is not afraid to speak her mind and she says what others are thinking. Love that energy!
I think the random gift giving is one of her love language. And when she loves someome Thats how she shows love and appreciation.
I LOVE random gift-giving. Of course we buy gifts for people for birthdays or weddings or whatever, but when a person gives me a small gift for no reason, it means they just thought about me and wanted me to feel good. I think that's wonderful, and I like giving that to people.
I love Sarah! She's too funny
He definitely yells at McDonald workers to get a “real” job and stop asking for handouts while he probably got everything handed to him by his mommy and daddy. His idea of a tip is giving a waiter $2.00 because he believes if he gave them anymore they would get greedy. What a disgusting human being.
"you mousy, unforgettable man"
I LOVE her.
Is this man mad his wife is teaching their kids kindness and gratefullness? Is he mad she is a better person than him?
I bought some candy to gas station workers that I saw were almost breaking down and super busy and late with their food orders. It was also covid and pretty late at night. I worked at a gas station (same chain, in a different city) the previous summer myself and could relate to it so much and just wanted to do something to acknowledge that and let them know it’s ok and they’re doing the best they can.
I just love how Sarah responded to it, because I was thinking through the story "yes, you're the AH", then she responded how I was feeling. 👏😂
The number of times I cried over cookies when i was depressed. At that time I would've loved to recieve handmade cookies !
Sarah is amazing, great energy haha
My sister is that considerate person who does this. People have told me so many times (often a little teary eyed) that no one ever thinks of them.
literally how could he not fall in love even more with her and appreciate how selfless and sweet she is ? how could he not find those qualities that she has so beautiful and amazing like dude, maybe you should be more like your wife 💀
The divorce party idea is brilliant
This man has literally nothing except ✨ the audacity ✨
It's one of those things where I might not be able to always give someone 20 bucks just to make their day a little better but you can pretty much always afford it batch of cookies.
he thinks like that bc that's why he and his parents give gifts. to make their "competition" feel insecure and less than them.
this woman is an angel, sincerely hope she’s with someone better or is riding solo
I can't even eat cookies and would still literally cry if someone took time out of their day to give them to me
my husband LOVES that I love being kind to others! while he may not fully understand it, he would NEVER say that i’m embarrassing or uncomfortable. I feel so sorry for this woman.
You two have great chemistry!
I give cookies to my husbands friends/coworkers every Christmas and they LOVE them.
When ever I'm talking on the phone or to someone say a cashier. I always ask them how they are, and then at the end I say thank you and wish them a good day. It's not much but when I worked in retail I always appreciated customers who said that to me
Omg this co host is everything 💖💖
Plz stay!!!
